Just got home from the Stryper concert tonight here in Portland,OR. The last time I seen these guys was the summer of 1983ish at Magic Mountain down in Cali. I will say this. These guys have not missed a beat! Just absolutely spot on and Michael's voices hit every single high pitch note still after 25 years. I had front row next to Tim, We chatted between songs. If they come to your town. You have to see them live. So worth it and I would go again and again.
Beautiful song, we were blasting Stryper on our three hour road trip a week or so ago, and I had to hold back tears when this song came on, and I'm 17 years old. Who cares if he has a feminine voice, its amazingly beautiful, he can also shred flames with that voice if you listen to some of their other songs. hoping to catch them on their world tour God Bless Stryper!!
I went to Panama for a missionary trip and got baptized to this song. I wanted my pastor to sing it but he had to have his tonsils taken out. so he got a video of his friend singing it instead. that friend turned out to be Michael Sweet. Needless to I was completely floored but totally happy.

It reminds me of the friendship she offered, but it also reminds us that Christ is the best friend we could ever hope to have. Admit it, Stryper was ragged on because they are Christians. If they didn't openly put it in their songs I can guarantee you wouldn't hate them as much.
While we are speaking frankly here, the reason that Christians are ragged on quite a bit is because of their "turn or burn" approach to proselytizing people. I mean, who really wants to be told that they are going to Hell because they are living their lives differently from the way the bible thumpers deem acceptable to their standards? THAT'S what drew me away from the Christian faith to begin with. I mean, come on, how often do you hear about people being "saved" through the fire and brimstone style of preaching? If there IS a truly loving God, then He wouldn't send people to Hell for either holding some measure of skepticism about His existence or denying it altogether. That doesn't sound like a loving God that people portray Him to be. As long as you are a genuinely good person, it shouldn't matter what your views are in terms of religion. Not to say that I don't respect Stryper's Freedom of Religion (I believe that they have every right to incorporate their religious beliefs into their music and I personally applaud them for doing so), but all I am saying is who cares what their religion is if they are playing music that you like?

I saw Stryper on the In God We Trust tour in November 1988 at the Hampton Coliseum in VA. I forgot who opened for them. Maybe someone can refresh my memory. The lead singer said that when our time comes, we can burn for eternity or party for eternity, & it's true. We all get tested. 2 weeks ago, I was fired from my job after 16 yrs. & 4 mos. But while I have to do my part in a new job search, I know that God has a better plan for me & he will lead me to it.

This is the power ballad of power ballads. Rewatching my wedding video from 35 years ago, just discovered this was played for my wife and I's 2nd dance (with our wedding party). I really don't remember if we picked it, or the DJ's choice. But good stuff.
Stryper was my refuge point in my younger years. Now, losing my father to cancer .. Listening again to this gives me strength in myself to press on into the world. The ones I still have and love are there alive and well.

I saw Stryper on the In God We Trust tour in November 1988 at the Hampton Coliseum in VA. I forgot who opened for them. Maybe someone can refresh my memory. The lead singer said that when our time comes, we can burn for eternity or party for eternity, & it's true. We all get tested. 2 weeks ago, I was fired from my job after 16 yrs. & 4 mos. But while I have to do my part in a new job search, I know that God has a better plan for me & he will lead me to it.
I think White Lion openned for them that tour.

Im 14 years old at first I was into only rap and hip pop and punk rock then I heard this song it was the first 80's song I have ever heard Now I am a big Stryper fan and 80's Metal fan. Stryper is the only reason why I became a MetalHead And a Christain I have long hair now I went back and Listen to rap and pop and say I cant beileve I use to like this crap! 80'S FOREVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

I agree. I'm a hardcore New Jersey WOP (Italian-ginny for those who don't know what that means) and I love this song. I'm 32 and grew up on '80s glam rock, Stryper among them, so keep on trucking glam rock bands of the '80's!!!!
boston is my fav band and when brad died i was hurt cause his voice was like an angel i knew how good stryper was and michael's voice then i heard bout michael coming over to boston and iam so glad.their voices are diffrent, brad has clarity and great lungs and can hit a tweeter, michael's got graet lungs and hits that note so hard and i would've loved a duet with those 2. can you imagine????
