This is devastating. My son and I watched his High school burn to the ground. Thankfully the semester hadn’t started yet because that would have been 3k kids to get off the hill. I know they are showing celebrities mansions but there are a lot of working people who live there. Most have inherited those homes and they were no where near a million dollars when they were bought. It’s not just rich folks affected.
I know people may call me materialistic, but it's sincerely NOT my intention to come across like that. Human life IS & ALWAYS will be priority, a long with pets/animals. But, I've had to start again, not from fire, but due to DV situation. Knowing I had leave items I couldn't replace broke my heart, kids baby pics, their 1st outfits, their milestone books, items I'd inherited from loved ones, my kids beloved items/certificates & items my kids were never without. Yes, I could rebuild, Yes majority of items were neither here nor there, Yes My kids & I were more important. Thankfully, unbeknown to me, even after I fled, officials did enter property & eventually retrieve a lot for me, so in my personal experience ,in the end, it did result in smiles, still tears shed, but we were safe. BUT THIS.....THIS is something else entirely, these people won't get a smile at the end, or their beloved items & personal effects. They will literally have nothing. ALL GONE..Regardless of insurance pay-outs (IF they do get 1, because acts of god often make insurance void. Well, they do here in UK). Yes, having your life, and loved ones safe is paramount, & things can be replaced, but a lot can't. It's gone forever. Especially for the older generation. I've seen lots of comments saying "everything can be replaced", but we all live differently, retain keepsakes, and hold certain things dear to us. One persons rubbish, maybe another persons gold. Having to leave things certainly does cause heartbreak for some. People shouldn't judge others for filling their cars with "crap", when it's obviously not crap to the person fleeing. It's theirs, it's what holds a place in their heart. This is sad AF, my heart breaks for everyone. I've seen a report saying a resident started a small fire in backyard, but, hey, I'm no expert & I understand wind flow/speed/dry ground/foliage etc, but I honestly find this wild how it spread from 0-100 literally straight away. Where's all the WATER??? The poor church too, you'll never replace those artifacts & history. Awful. Oh man, Firefighters & Emergency Staff working all hours god sends, all whilst knowing they've lost, or will potentially lose their homes too. This is horrendous. I'm not a prayer, but I've been saying prayers for you all since this started. I hope you get rain fall, no wind, and some luck on your side. I don't mean to keep commenting, but the more I watch, the more my heartbreaks for you all involved. Looters are dumb A$$E$, greedy, evil idiots, with no respect, empathy, concern or love for others. Last night watching your show I actually had to put it down after about 20 minutes I started going into a severe panic attack watching that news guy literally right up close and the fires all around him like my brain could not grasp one thing I was going a billion different directions go how are they doing this and I'm an empath so I'm feeling for all the people that are suffering I literally had a straight up panic attack I had to shut off my phone and then my mind started relaxing as well with my heart rate They're wasting their money on unnecessary things .
