    I just repaired a printer that despite the fact I've never touched or been trained on one, my company scheduled me to fix because of this video.
    Thanks so much, dude.

    Straight up thank you for turning the music off at the roller part.
    The first time I ever did a maintenance kit on a printer like this (forget the model, but it was one of these), I thought it was going to be simple. I broke the clip and ended up needed to get a tech from Lexmark (probably one of their subcons) out to fix it. He was quite clear that this was the absolute most common issue he encounters by a very wide margin.

    FYI,,, you should not remove the paper cover on the transfer roller until it is inserted into place, otherwise you could accidentally touch the sponge roller and contaminate it with the oils from your fingers.

      Good point. I just did this job today at my work & I accidentally touched it but barely and it was just on the outer side edge. Works fine for now… but if I have to do it again, I’m following your advice.

    One of my least favorite tasks at work. I really didn't miss doing this at all. It's been a while since I have done this and I had to come back here to look up where one of the parts goes. LOL

    Is this the same for the MS510? Any videos/instructions/suggestions about that printer?

    • @MK-ms9uq
      @MK-ms9uq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The MS510 is a little more tricky as he side covers have to come off to route a solenoid/cable to the system board, if you're not technically savvy I'd leave that to a trained tech

    Don't you also need to reset the "Roller Count"? And YES, leave the paper on the Transfer Roller until you have it installed in the printer to avoid getting oils from your hands on the roller.

    Great... but how does the printer know?

    • @Printsaverepeat
      @Printsaverepeat 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Each maintenance kit has a microchip inside that communicates with the printer. That's how the printer knows when a new one is installed. If you have any further questions about how this works, feel free to give us a call at 480-463-4548 and we'd love to help!

      Press 2 and 6 buttons then turn on the printer. keep pressed for about 10 seconds. scroll to reset roller count. press up to exit config menu. restart printer. done.
