Organized by the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.
"About Face: Contemporary Ceramic Sculpture examines the lineage and influence between the revolutionary first generation of ceramic artists working in the figural genre and the artists working today. Bringing together approximately 50 objects by emerging, mid-career, and master artists who work within a figurative clay tradition, the exhibition investigates how history and place inform the work of contemporary ceramicists. Through their work, these artists use the human form as a vehicle to explore issues relating to the body, various cultural concerns, and concepts relating to female/male contemplation"

Probably the amount of work put into these sculptures is enormous, but after seeing this exhibition you can have nightmares. It can also be said, is the condition of humanity is so bad?

The problem is, we have forgotten the real essence of art, true art, art that COMES from the soul and TOUCHES the soul! None of these works do that for me. They merely reflect the personality's unconscious and unresolved patterns and issues. The only operate on a purely sensual level on which the artist moved.
Let's dive deeper into our Beings, be courageous and bring the purest, immediate (beyond word) forward to remember what we in our depth long for for what we long for cannot be perceived with our senses, cannot be seen, smelt, touched or heard. It can only be felt.
To me, THAT is art.
