As FOR AKON, I saw it coming , it just didn't make sense from the beginning. To think that Africa somehow needs some sort of SMART CITY with some new currency just don't add up. To me, Africa needs an economic activity that produces what the Market needs sustainably and if not, changing quickly to something that works . Both the market and producer must co-exists happily. It appeared that AKON thinks you just built a city and make some money available that COULD be the reason why he cannot access fund because the same pple would ask him. "What would be a sustainable economic activities in the SMART CITY". A good example is, buy your brother a big house, marry him a wife and even give him plenty of money and see if this is sustainable unless you are a prince from Qatar. Good Luck! Thanks GA

Akon is symbolic of the post 1960 African story. He had the ambition, but he wanted to copycat what he saw in the West and in China. Imitation does not work unless the founder has all the funding needed. He could have created the overall plan, started with housing, generate capital, add business establishments, then steadily reinvest profits, while progressively building out the city. Biting off more than he could chew was risky.
It's not that easy to build a one man city.. even the Nigerian government, who was building the Eco Atlantic, has fallen under the bus.. it's been over 10 years... the Nigerian government can not even drop a pint of sand in the project..😂😂😂 .. corruption has gobble all the money. Akon would eventually sell this project to bigger investors... i would say the Chinese.
Obviously, a lot of people have no idea what it takes to build a $6B assets, or infrastructures. Anyone who knows how construction loans work won't fall for such hype. I bet there must have been a lot of bribes passed hands in Senegal too. Next time anyone presents such investments to you ask them to show you a copy of their Guaranty Letter, or Letter of Approval for the loans, from a credible source, that, they gonna build with. If Akon didn't have such documents, he could've gone about it in a different way and still archive good results, may be not to the tune of $6B right away, but over an extended period of time, say ten years. Uncollateralized A Coin won't fly because, if liquidated, the investors are not gonna recover their money. Therefore, reasonable or seasoned investors will not put their money on him.

Akon net worth is 40 million dollars. Where the hell would he get the money to build a 6 Billion dollar City.
So u think he is building a city with his net worth??
@@BillyJames-l6x The man is a con-artist. Are you a fool in understanding?

I don’t believe Akon has 4 million dollars.
There are investors who invest their money and expect a rate of return on the money invested?
Similarly to when billionaire owners who build football stadiums somewhat as they also use money from investors, tax concessions, etc.
African American here and I just want to say that Akon is making the black man look bad... Got damn shame!! 🤷🏽♂️
Good Luck! Thanks GA
He's A Truthful Man...🏋🏾.."A Con" !!!
The difference between African investors and European investors is that in Africa the investor must finance everything on his own and yet in Europe business people would stampede to invest into the idea, to the extent that the visionary may end up not even putting a $1. We just don't support one another.
He should buy the one ALREADY made in Cote D'ivoire❓
The Bigger the Black Man's Dream... The more the Powers that Be want to turn it into a reciprocal of that dream. Since certain Black Folks can't trust one another BUT will do ANYTHING Mr. Charlie says only Divine Intervention can save the Dream.
"Not right... Not fair...Opportunity...Blessing..." - 136 acres FOR A PURPOSE CONDITIONAL on him putting up $6 billion. He agreed. It's business. How is it unfair?
😂😂 he is a con artist his name is A Kon for a reason. I dislike him when he bad talk about African Americans to forget their slavery past and so forth and move forward blah blah. While he himself gets famous using AA style and so forth. Take that money from him and give it to someone else that can do the job better. Such a disappointment in him
Absolutely A Con!
😂😂😂
It is normal to ask people to forget about the past. As an African, I don't understand why we in Africa only talk about colonialism and slavery without taking responsibility for some of our problems. I prefer to work to build than always complaining about the past.
@@rexona1178 Good for you, we still working and living our best life, have our business, helping others, but you have to understand it still haunts a lot of people so if you don’t feel the same that’s on you.
@@orokonaboba7157 every culture have gone through this same problem. I work in Africa and see slaves being enslaved by other Africans everyday. White people too enslave their own people. Between my last text and this one, I have been on the phone with someone being enslaved. The solution is for us to build Africa and put systems in place to protect us and not complain for the rest of our lives
A kon gon get locked up and they won't let him out
How can one build ah city without the knowledge of solving the problem of sewerage,,
One of our problems is that we want return too quickly. This is something you have to put money in and not look for a return right now... if you're taking your money out already, how do you expect it to survive? Did you know, A company like uber is probably still today not making a profit🤷🏿♂️ that means they're surviving on investors' money, and those people believe in the company... "don't invest money you can't afford to lose.!"
I think somebody should build first before revealing their plans and all that. Even at plan level people show negative energy...
The first thing he needed to do was to own the land outright by paying the land owners. The government should have ensured that process was complete. They too are complicit in the failure. They should have took notice of the French colonialists..they too are no good.
You just don't just build a city. Investing in Infrastructure to rural areas, or a big company that will produce for the continent and give more people opportunities and a job is far more important.
Akon had a big dream but a lot of things just don't work out.
hey girl, i love u from South Africa.. i suggest you do something about that background , make it relevant.. i mean this is politics not spiritual readings
😶
No this showed us this great Black Renaissance isn’t gonna happen😂😂😂 Black ppl that have the money to really help are too far gone and focused on themselves and their inner circles
His name is Akon which is "A Conn" artist spelled differently, lol! I mean the guy has a criminal record from the United States. Most potential investors do a background check or due diligence before investing. Additionally, there seems to be a crypto scam mixed in there which is common in the that sector.
If it not started already I'm pretty sure will never see anything of it. For get about it.
His name says it all A-CON
It's not that easy to build a one man city.. even the Nigerian government, who was building the Eco Atlantic, has fallen under the bus.. it's been over 10 years... the Nigerian government can not even drop a pint of sand in the project..😂😂😂 .. corruption has gobble all the money.
Akon would eventually sell this project to bigger investors... i would say the Chinese.
Eco Atlantic is not a government project. It is private.
Not coming from no St Louis Missouri, the show me State.
The dishonor of Josephine Baker? 🇺🇲🗽🇱🇷 No more!!!
Liberia, Lincoln etc...etc...
Your golden braids suit you
Obviously, a lot of people have no idea what it takes to build a $6B assets, or infrastructures.
