A lot of people are complainimg about Honda dropping the 2.0, but too few people bought them. Same issue with manual transmission on the previous generation. The market has to support these things for a company to risk the profit.
I have a 23 Touring. From the day I Purchased it, I got an error message that the system update failed and I need to see the dealer. I talked with the dealer and they said it was an issue that Honda was working on and they had no reliable fix. That was several months ago. I called the 800 number in Honda link and they said they were unaware of any issues with system updates but they would get back to me. Very darn frustrating since I’m guessing there have been updates pushed out be it for the infotainment system or firmware upgrade. Anyone else have this issues?
I would take it to another dealership, have them refresh and upload again. Call the 800 number first to have it on file and if that does t work. Have them do it one more time. Most states need 3 reason for a buy back but it has to be something that makes the vehicle unsafe or able to drive.
On my 2023 sport did not get that problem but on the 2024 touring and I can confirm have the same problem I will be seeing the dealer tomorrow I will update you.
@@DP-uq9iq hey man I’m on the same boat as you called Honda and opened a claim not only I wasn’t getting updates but the digital instrument gauge cluster was unresponsive and slow, unlike my other accord sport it’s responsive to the dials.
There is more than one problem, They give you a tire pump, but no spare tire. See how much good that does when you are out in the sticks with a flat tire and have to wait the entire day for help. I have experience with this. I had a flat that the Fix a flat that came with the car would not fix. I summoned help and had an 8 hour wait for help. the tow truck that arrived towed me to a repair shop but did extensive damage to the transmission in the process. The $3,000 that it cost to repair came out of my pocket since the tow truck wouldn't pay, the auto warrantee would not pay. This all could have been avoided if the car actually had a spare tire, even a donut spare. You will note that the reviewer never mentions the lack of the spare tire as if nobody cares.
It is new so even if you bought this pre owned most of the time road side is included for the first year and most of the time you can have the dealership add a tire in the deal or add extra road side assistance 👍
Honda doesn’t include a spare tire in many Acura models either. I think they made the cold actuarial bean counting decision the a ‘fix a flat’ seal will allow people a short term fix.
The reason I have focused on the Honda Accord is that i was seriously interested in purchasing one. The lack of a spare killed the deal. Yeah, the salesman told me it would NEVER be a problem since i had the air pump and a fix a flat kit. I am not buying that argument because when I purchased a 2009 Caddy CTS it did not have a spare and i was told the same bogus story of how i would never ever need a spare. I was stranded on several occasions due to a lack of a spare. One time I had to get towed and the tow truck did severe damage to the transmission. The lack of a spare can cost you Thousands of dollars and entire days lost out of your life. Sorry, NO SALE.
My tire got a screw at 1:30am after a music show, it was practically impossible to reach someone to tow me. Thankfully the slime-goo allowed me to get home that time but it was still a slow leak for the next couple of days until I changed the tire at a place.
My prior experience with No spare and a can of Goo was with a 2009 CTS. The salesman told me that the can of goo would fix anything and there wasn't a chance in a million I would ever need it since the car had special tires that would never go flat. Guess what: They went flat just like any other tire and you are up the creek without a spare.
When passengers in the back need to use the charging ports in the armrest, does the armrest has to stay up due to it not having an opening for the cord? Any tips?
The rear design looks sporty but they should have kept front design same as the prior version. No AWD is a huge downside for places that get snow. Honda needs to up its interior to compete with Hyundai & Kia with their current pricing. I own a Honda but wanting to try a Hyundai/Kia for my next vehicle.
I am in the market to trade in my Honda CRV for a hybrid car. I liked the CRV hybrid, accord hybrid but unable to decide as accord has no AWD. Also Hyundai & Kia cars are very appealing in terms of extended warranty, interior, comfort and larger console. Please share your thoughts if you have any recommendations.
@@CuteKidos Hyundai and Kia has came a long way with sporty vehicles, great warranty and tech. If you want more performance with good MPG’s I would say test drive them and see. Honda does a good job with comfort but the hybrid trims will not be as fast as non hybrid trims Honda did before.
That’s one thing I don’t like about these higher and cars they don’t come with a spare tire I bought the normal LX version of the 23 accord and was T-bone so the car was totaled and I got a 23 hybrid sport, but I took the spare tire out before they totaled it
The hybrid is not cvt, and it's dumb that they call it a ecvt. It's a direct single gear drive or switches to an electric motor and the gas engine becomes a generator/range extender.
This is what Honda says: Honda CVT is a type of transmission that can change the gear ratio continuously without dividing each gear. Unlike an automatic transmission (AT) or a manual transmission (MT), a CVT does not rely on gears.
@@HawkeyeRides I know, that's their marketing bs. But it literally doesn't have any mechanical transmission aside from the single gear that ranges from about 40-70mph when suitable, the rest of the time it's in electric "transmission" mode with the engine as the generator.
@@mofayeryes, but for those 40-70mph, it is a single-gear eCVT and when you press the gas more it increases the RPM but is still tied to the drivetrain. Afaik ecvt is like no gears and can dynamically adjust the torque/power. Like the gears aren't a set size, it's a constant spiraling gear where it has different gear ratios all the way across. (paraphrasing what I remember about ecvts)
