    We have had a 230 with the 1800 twin engines for 13 years. Absolutely reliable. Has been a pleasure to own. Very few complaints. Still a great looking, great running boat.

    Great video! Been waiting for this since they announced the 2020s. Picking mine up in the Spring here in CT

    I own a 2019 Yamaha AR240. Thank you for being honest about the top speed. Local dealers in my area say the boat goes about 55 mph. Mine tops out at 48-49. It will not touch 50. I'm fine with that as I didn't buy it to set a speed record. I cruise between 5500-6000 RPM which yields 30-35 mph. Just perfect.

      I have an 18 and I have seen 52 on totally flat water when new. After added fins I am at 49

    Good presentation. How about a test drive, as in "Part 2 - Performance"...?

    The 1800 is NOT the TR1 motor. He mis spoke.

    What are the total horsepower?

    • @SW737Flyer
      @SW737Flyer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yamaha does not rate horsepower on their AR240. That being said, most dealers will quote 180 hp for the 1.8L motor. But, if you want exact numbers, there's an identification tag in the engine bay area. This is a required Emissions Control Systems Information decal. On that tag, Yamaha rates the engine as 1.812 Liters, and MAX POWER as 132 KW. Using a conversion calculator (google), 132 KW is equal to 177 Horsepower.

    Oops. The AR240 does not have the TR1 motor.

      I thought the same. TR1 engines are in the VX and EX line of Waverunners.

    Can this boat go in the ocean just fine ?

    • @DaineRic299
      @DaineRic299 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it can. Its based on Yamaha's PWC engines so it has flush ports for freshwater. It will work just the same in the ocean provided that you flush it afterwards to avoid any corrosion in the engine. It worth noting however, that this type of boat is a leisure sport boat which is designed for watersports and recreation on inland and flat water. Taking it onto big waves might cause a few issues.

    Do the smaller boats (190 and 210) also have yamaha’s articulating keel?

    Dealers suck . They just trying to make money and they don’t care about performance and real racers. Us guys who are racers know what I mean . We race these units and we expect peak performance because we are professionals and these amateur dealers don’t understand professionals
