I'd feel so bad for Manon players if she wasn't low tier anymore. They'd all need to start over and learn a new character like Jamie or Honda or something, honestly tragic.
Look forward to this video as always my man! Thank you very much for kicking my ass yesterday during the viewer matches as well! The manon ditto was quite fun!
I can see her being mid tier/upper low tier now but i still feel like her as a character is fine for the most part she is sadly just a victim of circumstance where those who are above her just simply have kits that synergize with the core mechanics of the game insanely well. Like when you want to play neutral but your opponent has a free neutral skip that can lead to pressure or back to neutral its kinda hard to see her that high up on the list. Like her buttons are better but that doesn't help her stop fireball drive rush lol.
It would be a risk to bet on them not using drive rush cancel off their normal but most manons don’t anyways. But yeah useful to understand it is less advantages sometimes to block vs get hit. If you aren’t close to the corner and find yourself getting normal looped yeah getting regular hit by her forward advancing normal is better without getting counter hit, when in burnout, because it gives you enough frame advantage to phone in a back jump where the manon has to react if she wants to continue pressure.
I haven’t played SF6 for over a year, but it was so satisfying to dominate players through Gold rank in the first few months not expecting the throw with Manon. Played around with Chun after that a bit before settling on Juri as a main before I got into other games. Recent updates make me want to come back and try to pick up Manon again.
According to the update notes, Manon's super meter is supposed to charge up faster when she performs command throws...is it just me or it is barely noticeable here???
4:10 The main use for Ryu's level 2 for me is mostly as a raw super after you have stunned the opponent at the corner. It does the most damage since the super can be Denjin charged up and rolls the opponent so you can follow up with more damage. Other than that the use is pretty limited (e.g. you can immediately start charging after landing an OD donkey kick).
@ oh sure. I was specifically talking about the charged up version since iDom didn’t know it could be charged. In normal situations you aren’t going to be able to charge it up. Maybe there are more inventive use for it other than just in a stun combo.
Great set with Dual Kevin! Nice to see Dual Kevin still work around with Rashid despite some nerf. Most pro players if their main got nerfed, they would already be considering switching. 😅
Laura and manon are too similar, I think they would change her a lot. Also I bet he would , she had that slow meaty fire ball. No brainer. I wonder if he’d play the tranny though
@Snuggs845 dumb here is you,.it's normal question..besides it wasn't you that I asked, you're not idom now are you?? We have players like tokido who abandoned akuma to move onto other characters, so what's wrong to ask if idom is still willing to play Laura if she happens to be released
@@valeoncat13 Just as much? My purely anecdotal observations suggest otherwise. I take note when somebody drops and it's so skewed in the direction of pad users that I just assumed it was an understood quantity. Makes sense, too, as most of the drops come in the form of badly-angled jumps, and a tiny stick controlled entirely by the left thumb would seem to be a convincing culprit.
Does he? He qualified for capcom cup when the top tiers were unnerfed. Now the top tiers are nerfed and Manon is buffed yet somehow she isn't good enough? Juri won capcom cup last year when JP was buffed to the max. Jp didn't even make top 8 in capcom cup. Manon is more than capable of going all the way if played sensibly
@universalman5861 yes, he does. I get it, he did qualify but the goal here is to win it or at least get second. Manon isn't a winning character and he has a hard time with Cammy and Guile. A secondary would help him with these compromises.
@carver9312 I saw Idom and punk play in can opener and Idom more than held his own. Manon is more than able to play against a nerfed cammy. Punk no longer dominates that neutral with cmp so easily punishable. Guile is not a rush down player. Idom just has to parry booms until he gets a jump in. It's just patience. Neither matchup is overly oppressive.
@universalman5861 it's not about holding your own, its about winning and he will be facing a lot of Punks at this tourney who is playing more versatile and better characters. Every great player has a secondary, all of them. Idom is the only one that doesn't. Pros have secondaries for a reason.
Lol manon is basically the same. Some meter gain buffs and s.hk being plus 1 on hit ain't gonna change the character. Nice clicbait idom, i playd to your hand by engaging.
Er no. She still has the same predictable gimmick. It just the player are getting better and better using her. Still doubt you gonna stick Manon through entire season lol
I'm so confused as to what makes Manon low tier and Zangief high-tier to people when she has one of the best anti-airs, back dashes and scariest pressures in the game. Zangief can barely get in safely without the Drive bar.
Zangief has a better drive rush (for grapplers), but mostly it’s down to how many plus on block moves he can access both from DR and in Neutral. Headbutt travels quite a lot further than Manon’s st. back HP, which is about her only plus on block move and its range is so close that you can’t really use it in neutral (unlike zangief headbutt). On top of that Zangief has a better sweep and he has a couple different jump-in normals that makes whether he reaches you hard to determine (Manon just have early j.hk from my knowledge) i might be wrong but i think it’s down to these factors
Better utility, oppressive n more plus normals, not a power up character, one of the best level 3s in the game, utilizes the drive system better, no much risk
I'd feel so bad for Manon players if she wasn't low tier anymore. They'd all need to start over and learn a new character like Jamie or Honda or something, honestly tragic.
Honda is pretty good now.
Nah we'd still play her cause we were degenerates to begin with.

If you charge Ryu's level 2 long enough in the corner, you can get an extended wall bounce.
the way to escape manon's burnout pressure is getting hit once then jumping backwards

Always a pleasure watching your Manon but I wish we could have had your thoughts after the tournament if the buffs made any appreciable difference.
9:33 Would you trust Manon's Lvl 1 with your firstborn child?

Oh wow, he actually used the 3HP tomoe derriere thing for the side switch at the end. I'm not sure if I ever remember seeing that used before.
5:12 was nuts! Had no idea!

Desk has a video about it. See for yourself if it's actually just barely noticable.
The Meter gain from like 1-3 might be not as noticeable but at 5 it’s very very noticeable
And even than I argue at 3 medals it’s noticeable
Awesome Manon matches iDom

It's pretty good as a reversal tho (unless they going for meaty jabs) and as a buffer to react to DI to escape the stun since it's a down back input

Oh she's still low tier. She's just no longer blatantly the worst character in the game.
Yeah that honor now officially goes to lily who received virtually nothing (and even caught a stray nerf)
@@saulgoodguy1840 Yeah that was gonna be my vote. Though she still probably beats the Manon matchup. 😁
manon got a special antiair arguably worse than akis normal 5HK smdh
Jamie has been the worst character in tje game since its releaae
6:15 Every pad user drops combos. It's probably the biggest lingering downside of sticking with pads. Worse even than the input time disadvantage.
Sorry to tell you but Stick and Leverless people drop combos just as much, lol. Some of it is just the games input reader being the way it is.

Yes. Focus on Manon being good so we can continue to downplay Ken and Rashid! When talking up Manon gets boring we’ll pivot to Kimberly.

Also Juri and Gief
