Going to their show in October, for the first time, and I want to carry their message my whole life because what could matter more than the people I love remembering me
WHERE HAS THIS BAND BEEN ALL MY LIFE! Seriously, this is EXACTLY the kind of music I have been looking for, does anyone know any other bands that sound like these guys?
Damn, I'm speechless this is perfect. There are no words for the way their words move me. Every time I listen to TWY alone I get a dorky smile on my face, their music has a way of making you feel not alone. Thank you.
The story so far is without a doubt very similar, and in my opinion of the same caliber, as the wonder years. You will love them. The Wonder Years has a pretty substantial discography, so be sure to check out their older stuff, including: Get Stoked on It!, The Upsides, and Suburbia. Plus, be sure to check out their deluxe editions, which have extra songs.
I love how The Wonder Years writes about things besides relationships, I feel that almost all pop punk writes about break ups and I'm forever alone so I just don't relate to relationship lyrics. O.o
I've been listening to TWY for a good amount of years and I feel like there music matures at the same time I do. Like I started as angsty, anxious teen who can relate to the upsides to "shit, I'm an adult now but I'm still anxious" with this record
At first, I was aggravated with the multiple repetitions of the line "I came here looking for a fight", but then I realized the growing scream in the background. It's the perfect representation of what all of us go through. We want to stand strong, but on the inside, we're screaming.
This song is amazing, probably my favorite off the album so far. It's a little upsetting everyone and their grandma is arguing over it. Chill out, enjoy the music.
"and yeah I came out swingin" "we'll deal with it in the morning" (New Years With Carl Weathers?) "Jake says I've got good intentions" (Summers In PA?)
In passing through a screen door he also says "I was kind of hoping you'd stay", this relates back to this party sucks and hey thanks off the upsides, and if I had a guess I would say he is talking about Jess leaving him since this party is partially about Jess staying with him and hey thanks is about him and Jess, Soupy is incredibly talented with his writing and I would not be surprised if we found more references in songs to come, really deep stuff here.
I didn't think that it was gonna be possible for me to be hopelessly in love with all 3 songs that have been released so far, but welp.. that happened. May 14th needs to come sooner because the greatest pop punk album is releasing that date.
Good, good reply that was completely logical and everything to do with what i was talking about. No really that was really good I'm proud of you TENNOUTTATEN!!
Soupy even came out and said in an interview that they do not want to make the exact same sound because if you ate a taco from taco bell every day you'd be sick of it, but they don't want to completely rework everything they've built because you don't got to taco bell for a big mac, which is why taco bell made the doritos taco. He described this album as the same Wonder Years stuff we loved wrapped in a cheesy nacho shell. Good points Rob
In art, there is no such thing as "less valid subject matter". That said, the songwriting has improved drastically with each TWY album, and The Greatest Generation is fantastic. But it's not due to the subject matter, it's due to the music.
I love this comment! It sums up what's wrong with most every old school Wonder Years fan. Seriously, who the hell wants to hear a band sing about ninjas?
Exactly. That's how he saved it. His lyrics pulled me out of a deep and dark time. I could relate to them and they made me feel a lot better. if it weren't for the words he wrote then I would have killed myself. So in all honesty, he did save it.
It's been a year and I still can't get over how awesome this album is
It’s been 7 and I’m still here
It's now been 8 years and I still love it.

"And yeah, I came out swinging"
i love this band. Im glad they referenced their old stuff in this, and in passing through a screen door
i don't really want to know where i would be without you guys.

I'm so happy my brother showed me The Wonder Years.
Uma das minha favoritas desse álbum!

October 2022, and im still listening to the masterpiece of an album!!
this album is going to send this band into superstardom, and i cant wait to see it happen. It couldn't happen to a more deserving band.
"and yeah I came out swinging" absolutely love that.
I love how The Wonder Years writes about things besides relationships, I feel that almost all pop punk writes about break ups and I'm forever alone so I just don't relate to relationship lyrics. O.o
You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!
Incredible.
This song is beautiful.
I've been listening to TWY for a good amount of years and I feel like there music matures at the same time I do. Like I started as angsty, anxious teen who can relate to the upsides to "shit, I'm an adult now but I'm still anxious" with this record

2022 and I'm still coming here for a fight. Won't give up.
this chorus...... wow.
I loved that interview.
Cannot wait to hear the whole album
SO good.
Brand New I think the wonder years are well on their way to being the "brand New" for this new generation
you guys are simply amazing!
Great song and it literally came out on my birthday
Why did i only start listening to these guys recently whyyy
There are no words to describe the feels I'm feeling right now...
This song is amazing, probably my favorite off the album so far. It's a little upsetting everyone and their grandma is arguing over it. Chill out, enjoy the music.
i'm so excited! 23 days till i see them aaahhhhhh
"and yeah I came out swingin"
"we'll deal with it in the morning" (New Years With Carl Weathers?)
"Jake says I've got good intentions" (Summers In PA?)
Pretty sure soupy's lyrics are for anyone in their early to mid 20's. I can relate to every word on the upsides and suburbia.
Wow, this album is the best I've heard form them so far.
that was a very mature way of dealing with that. there is till hope for the internet yet!!!
this album is easily my favorite release this year, and it still hasn't come out yet
I like the wonder years' old stuff but you have to admit their new songs are 100x better.
so good!
Awesome.
I like it. I like it a lot.
I love how they reference their other songs, "and yea i came out swinging"
I want it to be good again, so I will check out every album they release to see if they get any better.
I've already listened to this song about 6 times...
YES
Hopeless Records knows how to hype people for an album. I know, because I'M SO. FUCKING. HYPED.
I;m crying a little.
They were so awesome Epicentnter!!!!
I enjoy twy fan base, people aren't to whiney, just enjoy the music, this album will be most excellent.
They also writing songs about bro downs but I also have to friends so I'm SOL there too. Thats also why I love these guys and Daggermouth so much.
Love
this song is already at the top of my favorte wonder years songs list :D
I love how soupy references past songs in new ones, he made a reference to "came out swinging" fuck this band is perfect
I already did it's perfect

cannot wait to see you guys at Warped this year
That strange bass drum during "I came here looking for a fight"is awesome
I really cannot wait for this fucking album. Omg.
Essen, I'm coming!
The Story So Far, Fireworks, Handguns, Such Gold, Set Your Goals, and New Found Glory are a few
Whole song is very Touche Amore if you ask me, just with singing. Reminds me a lot of Gravity, Metaphorically.
They just grew up. Just because their lyrics and sound has matured doesn't make them any different.
Dismantling Summer
this is literally modern day emo punk. I love it!
thankfukl to exist, thanks TWY

I play this song so much throughout the day that I always leave it in its own tab.. that way I only have to watch ONE commercial :)
Goddamn this band hits home, with every song they put out.
Theyre not selling out since they worked so hard on this album and actually related their lives to it.
This album is going to be fucking amazing
I'm sorry to hear that.
Guitar intro is very Touche Amore.
This > life.
I. AM. SO. FUCKING. READY.
well said
Soupy, I don't want to know where I'd be without you.
If I could like that like maybe 200 more times that would be swell
i first listened to this song when i was 11 and listened again now years later i came to the realization that i am now angry, and 18
OH SHIT, This is so so good!
You sir, win.
Not sure if I like this one as much as the other two, but it's still fucking awesome!!!!
I love this comment! It sums up what's wrong with most every old school Wonder Years fan. Seriously, who the hell wants to hear a band sing about ninjas?
Those are actually lyrics from "My Life As a Pigeon" but Soupy did talk about it in an interview.
Exactly. That's how he saved it. His lyrics pulled me out of a deep and dark time. I could relate to them and they made me feel a lot better. if it weren't for the words he wrote then I would have killed myself. So in all honesty, he did save it.
Not a truer word spoken...It's taken long enough! Let's hope you're right man :)
