Such a cool short hop! Do you think it would be a VFR flight in permitting conditions, or would they still file an IFR FP for this? We need a LAX-PSP flight like this! They used to do them on the Skywest E-120s but they're gone now!
Thanks man!! I believe they still file IFR, but much of the flight on a good day can still be conducted visually. And I actually flew that route last year but on a CRJ! Was pretty wild how quick it was
The shortest flight I ever took, oh in the 80s was YVRYYJ in a CP Air B737. (I can’t remember for sure, but I don’t think that it was Canadian Airlines at that point) 13 mins, not airborne, gate to gate, and they served Cookies, Chocolate covered Strawberries and OJ to everyone on that flight. As soon as we were wheels up the crew climbed to the front. Each grabbed a tray and handed the above to all. Then sat down for the landing. Second shortest was on a AC B727 when they did power backs. YOWYUL with a rare approach from the west. So no circling around east Island Montreal. 18 mins gate to gate.
idk.. i'm scared to do this short flight on such a small plane. i get bad motion sickness.. especially on a short flight where you're ascending and descending so quickly.
did they even need to turn on cabin oxygen supply for this? I mean 4000' is like 1000 something meters and people breath at this altitude with no problem
There is no way anyone can fly YYJ -> YVR in under 10 mins. YVR -> YCD is shorter in the AC system. Even off Rwy 03 at YYJ into YVR 26R, takes 12 mins at best. Flown the route myself a dozen times a year myself and also piloted it in a cessna, of course much slower.
I know a couple of people that have done it in 9 minutes in the Q! Just needs the perfect storm of 26L-27 ops, good weather and ATC directs. YCD you're usually sent down to the south around the gulf islands regardless
Wow, this is so awesome! The scenery is just so beautiful! I was hoping that you had the full takeoff especially since you took off from runway 8!
The food onboard must be amazing
Best peanuts ever
Epic West Coast flight video! I've been on this exact aircraft (C-GIJZ), in the exact same seat!

@@dmairplane wow how quick was it on the crj?
Just found your channel and I love all your videos man sweet job with this one!
Thanks so much! Means a lot
Can’t imagine a flight this short!
Same
Think it's the first time I've ever been able to record a whole flight in one clip haha
Nanaimo Vancouver is just as short
Is this World's shortest commercial flight?
Very good :-)
Not the shortest, but it's in the top 50 or so!
The shortest flight in the world is Westray to Papa Westray in Scotland. This flight is flown 1x a day by Loganair. It takes about 1 Min.
If play @ 2X speed, the propeller stops moving.

Great video. Thanks for sharing
Is it my imagination, or is the prop feathered? The blades look almost straight out!
Maybe it's the normal setting?
15 minutes.... unless of course YVR is backed up and you circle over the coastal islands for an extra 20-30 minutes waiting for a spot to open.
Was happy to be going the other way haha
Super cool.👍😊✈️🛫🇮🇪🇨🇦

@@dmairplane ive taken the YCD -YVR route a few times, never circled around the gulf islands, just flew over Gabriola and the strait and landed
