I just had to replace my pcm on my 2011 jeep grand cherokee. I was able to find a company called flagship one online. They are located in NY. If you send them the Vin of your vehicle, they will program it and all you have to do is plug it in once it's delivered. Cost me around $750 total. Dealership was going to charge me $1600
Yeah that might be an option for some people. I prefer to do all the programming myself. Although I have used some third party companies for older model PCMs where the factory programming support is a little outdated.
Hey curious on what problem you had with the pcm did your car not start because I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my mechanic said there’s an issue with the pcm that either it needs to be reprogrammed or replaced
Dealing with this right now also, I hope it’s not my PCM because if it is, that means, I burnt one refurbished alternator and two brand new ones all within three weeks. 2012 caravan. Today I replaced the terminals at the battery thinking that will solve the problem because, the original ones were stripped and loose.
Thus is an older video but I'm pretty certain I diagnosed the same issue. Burned up a rebuilt alternator in one quick trip. I noticed you had 12 volts on both small wires going to the alternator. I only had 12 on one of the. Should it be 12 on both?
Hey I install external voltage regulator / kit on my 2011 town and country? because my alternator stopped charging even after installing new alternator and battery what am i doing wrong?
I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee that won’t start has power to everything but doesn’t crank or turn over it’s just silent when you press the start button. I have it at a mechanic and he says it’s my pcm that either needs to be re flashed or replaced do you know what could cause the pcm to fail or maybe it’s just a simple re flashed
The program in the PCM won't just go bad, And need a reflash,.. that's not really a thing that happens. If it's not cranking your mechanic needs to look at the data list and see what is missing. Most likely a problem with the win module instead. The electrical systems on these vehicles is fairly complicated. Might want to look for a shop that knows more about the Chrysler platform.
I was told one has 12 v and the other is driven by the PCM to ground at 100hz at a varying amount of time based on electrical demand, so the other side potential of difference
That's not correct at all. The charging circuit is controlled using the positive side. Just think about it for a second. If you're trying to energize a circuit how would controlling the ground have anything to do with it?

you need a scan tool that can force the field output, or the only other way is to turn everything on in the car, and watch the data list to see what the output is. check this video th-cam.com/video/tWZ7Lq7kBGw/w-d-xo.html

And did the flag ship one pcm work? I read terrible reviews about them
@@tgarra8967 that is a very vague diagnosis from the mechanic. You need more info about the failure

very well could be the pcm. I've replaced dozens of them for this failure.

Yes iirc there should be 12v on both. The MOSFET on the pcb goes out causing the alt to burn out.

too many possibilities to speculate.

Doubt it, this was almost 3 years ago.

chrysler has always had problems with pcm's, its a supply issue
12 volts at both pins, thankyou fighting one right now pretty sure its pcm failure.

Welcome. There is another video showing what the failure looks like .

I do. Mostly electrical diagnostics
