i liked how you were both informative but still funny all at the same time. thank you so much. very useful :) i bought a metal door sign and i want to screw it to my composite (i think!) front door!
The industry moved onto nylon bolts as the metal ones suffer from the external cold elements creating a cold spot that then creates condensation causing rust spots and in extreme cases rusty water marks onto the door and knocker
are there knockers which only require drilling one hole? I ask because we have a knocker similar to what you used for this demonstration. I would like to remove for something smaller so i can use the second hole for a peephole camera? So a small knocker will you use the top hole whilst the peephole camera will use the lower hole. I hope this makes sense?
I need to remove one that has a peep hole, which someone has damaged. However the fixing screws are behind the knocker and can be viewed when peep hole is removed. The door does not have rods on the inside of the door. Anyone can help how to remove really appreciate. Its for an elderly home where peep hole has been scratched and wanting the ring door cam installed for safety.

Really well informative thanks
I haven’t got a hacksaw. Any suggestions please
Brilliant thank you!
why do you have to use nylon bolts? that sounds like a boring trip to the hardware store. what else will get it done laying around the shop?
What type of drill bit do you use for pvc doors?
