Damn 30 years of building homes in Canada...i would love to come out there and fix everything. Ras and Coppy and ratty would love me there..like family.

Coppy, remember to paint it every year it will prevent water from seeping in the wood and cause it to rot . Use oil base paint.
Why not STAIN the wood or better still Cement the lower wall...Sand from the RIVER is a start....grip wire and cement from the STORE...

Sometimes I wonder is a small concrete structure would be more suitable and cost less in the long run. Then again they may be restricted as to building on the land if it’s not theirs

@emre k sometimes that's all you need. He doesn't have the stress of the average us citizen. Doesn't have to worry about paying off a house, insurance, car payments car insurance gas. He can prolly jus stay home 5 days out the week and jus work for food and lil spending money. Not sure how much everyone gets from renting out the rooms but they are living rich in the fact that they don't have stress and worryies on the daily basis.

He needs storage, so he can put his clothes away, and tidy up the house. He needs a Chest of drawer. Dresser, and some shelves, also some rugs. He is a youngman he needs to fix his place nicely. Please give him all the help to do so. Blessings 🙏🙏🙏🙏
They seem content living like that, they need to be the ones to assert themselves and have a vision of a better life. If they continue being content with how they are living them only the bare minimum will be done to improve their standard of living. Simplicity is nice but more improvements can be made to make the yard more accomodating and comfortable. They should atleast have a concrete structure there with a nice bathroom as an option for guests whose preference is on the more refined side.

if no electricity available, they make wonderful battery powered camping lights / lamps, also a skylight could easily be installed on his roof to give him natrual light and seal it good with putty seal, plumbers putty and a good calk will do to keep it from leaking during rain

@@lilyofthevalley2248 Yeah this can totally be done even with tight budget, this little house has a lot of potential, get him some cabinets built, some shelves , a skylight, along with a couple of fans, and some of those Coleman battery power lanterns and he’ll have quite the lice lil pad. :-)

@@realchanger8220 yes i know that, but a generator can be hooked up, or even some low level lines to give him a little bit of electricity.
There are several solar panels they can invest in . The lights that you sit outside let the sun power them then put them in a socket and turn the switch. No need for electric.. then for his verandah he can get several of the solar lights from Amazon and place outside, and he will have lights at night..

If you flash the roof properly and lower or tip the verandah roof, you could easily combine cantilever and utilize four posts to build some nice dry outdoor space for Coppy.
