@@feedmeimei I love how your mom part takes in videos with you. it was super funny when meimei was ordering both times at Starbucks and her mom was sleeping casually even after drinking caffeine
I tried starbucks matcha with brown sugar syrup thanks to your last video! I got it topped with salted foam and it was perfect! Definitely hit that boba tea shop craving!
Suggestions from a Starbucks barista: 1. Ice matcha latte made with oat milk, brown sugar syrup, and vanilla sweet cream cold foam 2. Iced black tea with no water, heavy cream (also good with oat milk) two pumps of white mocha (1 pump for tall or grande), brown sugar syrup, vanilla sweet cream cold foam, and extra caramel drizzle (optional)
After watching this vid I came up with a brown sugar milk tea recipe i hope works, but I haven’t tried it yet. If I do, I’ll leave an update here. But first here’s the recipe: Iced Royal English Breakfast Latte (obv): •grande •milk of your choice •No cane sugar (sub for the upcoming syrups) •Salted Caramel Cream Cold Foam •No water •2 pumps brown sugar syrup •LIGHT ice (important) •3 tea bags (the more the better, because this is why the drinks here didn’t taste strong enough. Standard for a grande is 2 bags) •5 pumps dark caramel sauce (more is better than less since this sauce is not as sweet as other ones)
Don't tell your mom that you're causing your viewers to lose arms and legs too because we're going to the boba shops and Starbucks to buy all the drinks you like.
I love how your mom part takes in videos with you. it was super funny when meimei was ordering both times at Starbucks and her mom was sleeping casually even after drinking caffeine.
Starbucks employee here: the reason most of the drinks taste watery is because starbucks teas are steeped in water, while milk teas are steeped in hot milk. Usually, if someone is ordering say an iced black tea, the barista would shake the black tea (steeped in water) with more water and ice. So by asking to not add water is just to not add the extra water, but the tea base itself is still water. That's probably why the London Fog tasted closest to a milk tea, since the recipe is to steep the earl grey tea bags in a combo of water and milk.
I watched 5 of your videos today so I grabbed my mom and went to get milk tea. And I added egg pudding which I’ve never done but it made the Caramel milk tea so delicious! Thank you for making my day amazing!
The brown sugar pump at Starbucks is a half pump. It's not that much sugar. You can ask for double the pumps so it's sweeter because 2 pumps is really only 1 pump for the teas.
So all of our iced teas (passion, black and green) are diluted from the get-go. They are made in 2-liter pitchers so that they last longer. Then when you get them in drinks they are diluted further unless you ask for no water. If you want the strongest tea flavor, your best bet would be to ask for any of our hot teas iced. Jade citrus mint, earl grey, mint majesty, Royal English breakfast, etc. so you can try them at their most concentrated and undiluted flavor. Also, though, go inside if possible when doing so since steeping generally takes five minutes before teas are transferred to cold cups and ice is then put in.
😂. People that work at Starbucks are stronger than me😂. I’m a nurse and have performed life saving procedures but the thought of working at Starbucks FREAKS me out 😭😭!! 😂
To get the milk tea flavor the tea needs to be very strong and add a lot of sugar. We try to make milk tea at home and the tea is never strong enough b
also for brown sugar you might not be tasting it as much bc our brown sugar pump is half the size of the other liquid syrups!! i think bc its sweeter so they make the pump smaller for that one but i would suggest increasing the amt of pumps, maybe double it
Starbucks uses oatly batista edition oatmilk. I love it and use it to make my own coffee at home. Maybe some Starbucks are using different oatmilks because of shortages.
how can you put up with the caffeine? but "why you are making faces? it should be soooo good! " is perfect Meimei! your mum's iconic and signature comment! (love it!!! )
The green tea at Starbucks is tazo branded green tea which I think has mint in it. I'm not a big fan and definitely not the same as Jasmine. I'll be trying the London Fog one today at the first Starbucks at Pike's Place.
I cannot believe no one told you to get sweet cream instead of soy milk😭😭😭. The CLOSEST I've gotten is an unsweetened iced black tea, no water, sub extra sweet cream, and brown sugar syrup. I know you've tried so many now but you've gotta try again with sweet cream!!!
Thanks for trying my suggestion! 16 pumps is excessive. 😅 You can ask for 8 pumps and it will taste the same if they are "full pumps." They usually pump the syrups fast so it's really 16 "half pumps" which is equivalent to 8 "full pumps."
I used to get iced London Fogs before I even knew milk tea was a thing... but I can tell you most baristas seemed to hate me for it. *insert nervous laughter here*
Lol my little sister came in to watch this over my shoulder and her comments are that you are very pretty and that your mum reminds her of our grandmother because they have the same hair
The reason slot of the drinks weren’t sweet enough is because all grande drinks come with 4 pumps of syrups and a lot of those recipes only had 2 pumps. Also the brown sugar syrup comes in 1/2 pump doses so you need to double the quantity to really taste it . I agree the London fog with the sweet cream vanilla cold foam is the best recipe and actually taste like milk tea!!! And at Starbucks we use oatley i don’t see the cardboard flavor however i think oat milk is over powering and all you taste is the milk in whatever drink it’s in
personally i recommend getting the tea bag teas and ask for them iced as opposed to the iced teas!! bc the tea bag ones u can ask them to brew w more or less water but when we make the ice teas in the morning theyre steeped then and its very little tea leaf to water ratio :(
From what I learned, iced black tea won't provide enough flavor. Seems like iced matcha tea w/ milk and however many pumps of (toffeenut/brown sugar) syrup does the trick
Love the vid! Also you can’t get this at Starbucks but in one video you should buy horchata and then buy brown sugar boba itself then add them together and try it
I love meimei's energy and her mom is a whole mood and i love it
hehe aw tysm!! love u!!
I loved when she was sleeping while meimei was ordering

try THIS. (this is for a tall)
iced black tea
1 pump liquid cane sugar
2 pumps brown sugar syrup
NO MILK!
this is the best i've came across!
I’m a Starbucks Barista and I love our Oatmilk😭 it’s the Oatly Barista Edition
yes! the cardboard-y flavor probably comes from the packaging!
Love your videos keep up with the amazing work mei mei
Don't tell your mom that you're causing your viewers to lose arms and legs too because we're going to the boba shops and Starbucks to buy all the drinks you like.
You guys need to try a Venti iced matcha latte shaken with two pumps of raspberry syrup and two pumps of toffee nut syrup!! Tastes like boba 🤤
✨I’m getting boba later😌👍🏼✨

Ahhh my cousin made a drink that makes me crave boba all the time it’s
- chai tea
- 2 shots of brow syrup
- cinnamon syrup

What do u do with all those drinks when ur done
meimei we need a skincare rutine cuz your skin is sooooo clear, like how!

Wait wait grande black tea w no water? Why would they add more water to the tea?
The black tea is brewed concentrated, water is added so it’s not as bitter/strong.
It should be so goOod 😂😂✨ ur mom is so funny haha 💕💕💕
how can you put up with the caffeine?

lol breve has half and half, so it’s a bit creamier. Two pumps Isn’t that much, so I understand why it wasn’t quite there
The green tea at Starbucks is tazo branded green tea which I think has mint in it. I'm not a big fan and definitely not the same as Jasmine. I'll be trying the London Fog one today at the first Starbucks at Pike's Place.

@@feedmeimei it ended up being so good but the line was so long 😂
I’ve seen tons of new boba spots open up in the Bay Area specifically SF! Can you do a video on new boba spots?!!
Starbucks black tea has never been strong enough. Even getting it without water or on it's own, it just tastes like water.
Thanks for the feature!
thanks so much for your suggestion! 💕💕
omg you should definitely try a matcha latte with oatmilk and 4 pumps of brown sugar syrup! less ice
I might try this since I already like the matcha latte 👀
I cannot believe no one told you to get sweet cream instead of soy milk😭😭😭. The CLOSEST I've gotten is an unsweetened iced black tea, no water, sub extra sweet cream, and brown sugar syrup. I know you've tried so many now but you've gotta try again with sweet cream!!!

Hey meimei😊 I just wanted to ask what do you do with the leftover drinks?
My favorite milk tea hack is vente black iced tea with 3-4 pumps of vanilla and add half & half ♡
i like to get green frap with oreo in it.
definitely gonna order the one with 16 pumps :)
You & are your mother are SO sweet! 🥰
Vanilla bean frap looks like a No go!
EARLY YAY!!!

omgg i love your mom. shes so adorable and funny💗💗
I do a Venti Iced Green Tea Latte with 9 scoops of matcha and 6 pumps of brown sugar syrup for a Matcha Tiger boba.
Lol my little sister came in to watch this over my shoulder and her comments are that you are very pretty and that your mum reminds her of our grandmother because they have the same hair
Try a grande iced black tea with no water, brown sugar syrup, and sweet cream!! Tastes exactly like milk tea!
This vid is making me want some boba🤧😖
I love your videos especially when your mum is with in it❤️🥰
Black tea, plus 5 pumps brown sugar - and get me right here.. listen closely. Add. MILK. Ya get me?
