Keith, i’ve kept some old saws of my dads as they have wooden handles that i was going to reuse for push sticks based on what Frank Howarth did on a CNC machine.
i didn’t have any ideas for the steel so thanks Keith for the idea on making card scrapers, now I can reuse the whole saw! 😀

March 21, 2022 today. Boy oh boy what a good video. I will be doing this instead of buying.i want to use card scrapers too scrape the existing finish offa guitar bodies. I bin using a jacknife sharpened up but the straighter edge will be a blessing. Thanks.

'Blin', (mild Russian swear word). I saw one of these saws on the side of the road for rubbish pick up. Of course I though no good discard / leave it. Now the rubbish has gone and you come along with a great Idea. I won't do that again. And Yes Fergus N, another great Idea. Thanks Keith

hey Keith, a tip for scoring straight lines with an angle grinder, is to PUSH the grinder, and not pull. If you pull, the sparks can cover up the line, making it difficult to see. If you push though, the sparks fly on to the part you have already scored.

maybe someone should make a small saw that is designed to be used as a card scraper on the top edge.
When you bend these scrapers and go across flat wood it looks like your making groves in the wood.
Wow now I know what to do with my 2 old throw away saws in the workshop. As I don’t have a card scraper to copy would you be able to pass on the measurements so I can get the right sizes. Cheers.

How is the saw performing for you?
@@RagnBoneBrown i havent used many saws if i am honest but beside the shity aluminium fence sistem i like it very much! Motor is very silent and has enough power for my needs... I am upgrading table saw fence with a proper cast iron biesmyers (or something like that...) style fence and making a cabinet and router lift on the extended side. I hope it will all work out as i imagined!🤔🤨. But yea... Overall the tablesaw is great... Ill have 4400 bamdsaw soon for all the resawing and a planerjoiner soon! So this tablesaw will do just fine😁 need to expand my onecar garage somehow!😮🤨 Hehehe

Is there a certain thickness a card scraper should be? I was thinking (since I'm super cheap) of making one from a single scraper blade.... or any number of other useless things i have around garage.... any ideas of materials to think to use?

I throw about a dozen of these away a year. I use them for wood, then when dull, cutting thermolite blocks then the scrap metal skip. Iv often wondered about making scrapers out of them but never got round to it. Like you I always hoard the three m5 nut and bolts from them. You cant actualy sharpen these disposable hard point saws, the teeth have been hardened.

Dont make scoring cuts.
Scribe the lines and sink the grinder blade and follow the line from the waste side.
Slow is fast .
Fast is slow.
