Yaaaay dot hack music. You have a LOT to hear from the entire project. Try in hack//SIGN "the world" , "key of the twilight, "fake wings" , "obsession " ( the opening video is great. Aura's theme and all lost grounds theme from the original 4 games and hack//G.U. And there is many more
The G.U. is an acronym that really stands for almost anything, a few things that appear in the GU trailer are Guilty Universe Guardian Ubiquitous Gate of Uroboros Graceless Unison Guide to an Uprising Genesis of Ultima Generation of Unity Geeks Utopia Gathering of the Unwilling Genocide of the Unfaithful Genetics of the Unknown Though I think the over arching theme for the GU games is "Grow Up" as the story has the main Character grow and develop through these games from a brash rebellious teen to a more mature and level headed guy.
If you want to find the cutscene for the music type in this: .Hack// G.U. Last Recode - Haseo vs Tri-Edge | 1080p60 HD. Or something along those lines.
Everything in these hands remains my favorite battle theme from the G.U. Series. Glad this got some spotlight. It’s first presented in an early cutscene then used again as a final battle theme from the Rebirth title.
An easy explanation of .hack// is a story of people finding out the most popular online MMO game has more secrets and mysteries in the depths of the code than they ever could have imagined and no one even realizes it. The series and all its forms is various players getting tangled in the truth and saving people from falling victim to the real life dangers found in their fantasy world. I'll always remember this music for its more haunting, ethereal tracks that I find myself idly humming when I least expect it. One of my all time favorites is the theme of Hulle Granz Cathedral (Cathedral Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground) which is in .hack//INFECTION and .hack//G.U. both versions being equally beautiful. It's a mesmerizing piece that's strong in my memory 20 years later. If I had to throw other tracks to throw out there I'd say "She" from .hack//GU or "Helba ~ Lios" from .hack//infection.
The OG quadrilogy may be harder for people to give recommendations for because the goddang game series is several hundred dollars to get hold of unless you kept your copy of the games and it was always a bit more on the obscure side even back during the PS2 days. Holding out hope that the G.U. Remaster was successful enough for Bandai Namco to want to remaster the original series, but since the domain was dropped by BN and bought up by fans for a fan project, unfortunately it looks like BN is just gonna squat on the rights for eternity... The Remaster of G.U. put it fresh in peoples' minds, which is why you have gotten more requests for it since you have old players having it back in their hands, and new players who never played before getting to play it for the first time.
I'm so shocked and happy to see another .hack reaction video! Thank you very much for this. Demon Palace is definitely one of the harsher battle area themes, it is an arena battle, and it's excessively aggressive on purpose. Everything in This Hand is gorgeous with how it culminates everything you've struggled to achieve through the first game and into that fight. It's really good, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. It makes me happy when others discover .hack and actually enjoy it. One thing to note is that the soundscape between .hack IMOQ and GU is quite different. IMOQ adopts a celtic soundscape while GU is heavily steampunk. It's actually really fun because you're dealing with the soundscape of the MMO world and its mythology that the player/main character is interacting with, but also the oddity that the main character encounters which adds the other half of the soundscape. Both games are deeply steeped in the technological weirdness that the main character encounters: viruses, artificial intelligence that is awakening to a life of its own, the code falling apart and people caught in between this and the real world. The premise in .hack// is that this MMO was created first as a symbol of love and dedication, that it would grow, and growth comes from people, players, being able to connect with one another within that space. As more and more players amass this virtual reality, the collective thoughts and consciousness weaves something truly unique and it starts affecting living beings within. In IMOQ you're saving people who have been harmed by this, but you're also trying to save the unique inner world of the MMO itself and the beings it birthed. In GU you are almost entirely focused on saving the people affected and protecting others. I could go on for hours so I'll stop here, i'm sure others would explain it far better than I would, since I like to look at stories and games from their abstract rather than their core events.
I didn't even see this video until now and I'm glad you read my comment. I didn't explain it in the best way, but as a recent fan of the series I did my best lol
So just to specify, .Hack// was not an anime first as you understood but a multimedia project from the get-go. SIGN started airing shortly before Infection's release, yes, but past Infection's release it continued airing and only ended shortly before Quarantine's release. People were meant to play the games and follow the anime at the same time. The same thing was done with G.U. and its tie in anime Roots, which shows the main character's story from his first days in the game to the very start of the first G.U. game and what set off the events happening in the games.
that was my comment on the Everything In This Hand, on the quote of haseo. it'll be cool to see you play this series one day cuz it's underrated, last recode is on steam.
There was never a direct meaning. However there were several words both said in game and in flashes in the openings and trailers. Guilty Universe Guardian Ubiquitous Gate of Uroboros Graceless Unison Guide to an Uprising Genesis of Ultima Generation of Unity Geeks Utopia Gathering of the Unwilling Genocide of the Unfaithful Genetics of the Unknown
Cries, dothack series still the best game of all time in my heart, be it the 1st 4 series and G.U one, and the music also still the best at its time for me😢😢😢😢❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Personally while I loved Gu it screams of wasted potential. There is a lot of ideas that were abandoned Sora the original version of main character before they go amnesia was never adreressed, Cc corp was turned into a joke that got more flanderized and less important and while it wasn’t quite that obvious here it did start the trend of ignoring the real antagonist in favor of a purely digital one when it was more even in the first games. They have been cynically recycling the iconography of the first games whilst being unwilling to push the series forward since gu made it work the first time.
Oh, as for a video- I'd suggest .hack//G.U. Last Recode Battle Against Azure Kite uploaded by Kitewalker2700 (it's the PS2 version so the video isn't HD, but it includes two songs that are really beautiful that play across the cutscene. If you want only the portion of Everything in This Hand, then start the video at 9:00 minutes

One of the most important ones not listed though is "Graphics Ultimate!". That made me laugh, especially considering the previous .hack games.

I did not expect to see .hack on this channel. What a welcome surprise.

Tri Edge caught in 4K getting their name from .hack :P
Demon Palace is the first pvp arena, where a major plot point for the protag is happening as he has to confront friends and foes in a 3v3 match.

Everytime i hear this song i cant help but smile and imagine this not being part of a fighting stage for Tekken😅❤
I've played the G.U. games a couple times, and even I don't remember off hand what the G.U. stands for lol.
