    I was confused when I first started because I didn't know that ballerina even existed. Coffin, to me, are completely straight sided just like a coffin, while ballerina has a slight tapered edge just like the tip of a ballet shoe has a more tapered, narrow shape.
    With sizing, I only do custom 10 piece sets, so I sell sizing kits for $5 each, then that $5 comes back off of their total on a second order. That way I can get their exact, custom sizes, plus giving them that $5 back gives them more of an incentive to order again. I was asked by one of my regular customers to make a 24pc set for a friend of hers as a surprise Christmas gift because she loves the sets that I have made for my regular. I was SO confused on which sizes to include more of, how to design them, etc. I watched about a dozen videos on 24pc sets before I started to understand exactly what I needed to do. I know that having customers size their own nails can be confusing for everyone involved and 20-24 piece sets can be a waste of time and material since half of them get thrown away. But as you said, it's a personal preference. I prefer sizing kits because it saves me even more headache, confusion and material, plus I'm lazy and I don't want to put extra work on myself if I can avoid it. Not going to lie. 😂 You are amazing at what you do though. Advice and nails alike. ❤

    The reason for the duplicate sizes is because for most people the ring & pointer finger take the same number. So for 2 hands you'd use 4 of that same nail size. Its really a nice feature. My favorite nail company should do this. I literally don't have anymore of that 1 nail size.

    ⚰ Coffin does not have a round curve. Ballerina has a round shape 🩰. I was really confused when I started my press on business. But its what ever you want to call it at least your showing your customers the shape that they can choose from.
    You make beautiful nails 💅 😍

I’ve been so confused myself lol every time I search the different shapes everyone calls them different names 😅 and yes I should have used the shape guide a long time ago really, but thank you so much! And thanks for watching 🤗💖

    The coffin and ballerina both have cut of tips, but the coffin i s a bit curved on the sides, while ballerina is more straight line from root to tip :D

    You have your ballerina and Coffin mixed up, there is a definite distinction, Coffin is literally the shape of a Coffin, Ballerina is the shape of a ballet shoe (slightly bowed sides and rounded corners) it's as easy way to remember them :)

    I noticed that my nail is not that flexible after putting gel on them. Do you choose a nail tip that is little bigger or?
    What's your advice on this ?

    • @patternedpaints
      @patternedpaints 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! I’m no expert but I’d say it’s normal that once you cure the gel polish the nail hardens too. I personally don’t find that I need to change the size of the nail, it’s only people who use acrylic on press on nails that I’ve heard size up. If you find that your nail significantly changes size then maybe you should size up 💕

    When you went through and measured all your nail sizes. how do you know whats xs, small, medium, or large when measuring? I don't know if Im just thinking to hard about it or what lol.

    • @patternedpaints
      @patternedpaints 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey girl, lol no you’re not thinking too hard it’s a valid question 😂 it’s pretty easy, I Google “press on nail sizes” and a bunch of sizing chart examples come up, I use the most common sizes to make my own chart and use that from there. I hope that makes sense! 💕

  • @nataliemiller6753
    @nataliemiller6753 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is probably a dumb question but do you count the first line when counting the mm lines? So the line the nail is lined up with is considered as one? Or the one after would be considered one?

    • @patternedpaints
      @patternedpaints ปีที่แล้ว

      Not dumb at all! The one after is what I would count as one 😊

    How do you know how short to make the nail tips? Like when you cut down a nail, how do you know what length is short, medium, long? Idk if this makes sense but I can’t seem to find anyone explaining how to figure out nail lengths

    • @patternedpaints
      @patternedpaints 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Yes it makes sense, for me if I’m trying to be accurate I measure the length. You can use a tape measure/ ruler and measure out a length for each nail, use a sharpie or marker to dot which point to cut, write it down so you don’t forget and you can refer to that for your different sizes. I hope that explanation makes sense 😅💕

    • @jojoslaughter4451
      @jojoslaughter4451 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@patternedpaints your explanation does make sense, thank you! Are there standard nail lengths for short, medium, long? Or do people just kinda guess what length looks right?

    • @patternedpaints

      @@jojoslaughter4451 there’s no standard lengths, you can do it however you like😊
