One of the rare episodes where one contestant completes the Price is Right 'Triple Crown': Winning a car, spinning a dollar and being a DSW in one show!
just imagine for a second if you will though if this were the bonus spin era she'd need everything you mentioned plus a $1.00 on both spins regular and bonus to get the triple crown and to date I don't believe TPIR history has recorded that great feat
This episode has the original commercials taken directly from the original CBS broadcast as shown on WCBS-TV (channel 2) in NYC, and it was the episode that has not been reran on GSN back in the late 1990’s. The first part of the show was a near perfection of “Dice Game”. This never happened until 1996 which was 16 years later where a guy did a perfect playing of “Dice Game”.
Ayds.... Wow. No foresight on that one (commercial after Dice Game)! lol. On a side note, doesn't it seem that the farther back you go watching Price, the more personable and enjoyable Bob seems? Just an observation.
🎶It's Joe Albertsons supermarket!🎶 Lol I forgot all about that jingle. Now Albertsons took over Safeway! You couldn't tell any Safeway worker/shareholder that could happen in 1978! Still a shock just a few years ago. 🐱
I wonder if David Grunbaum is still playing the field or if he ever settled down. LOL. I would love to know what he's like now. I would imagine he's in his 60's now.
***** Somewhat. It was one of my chronic headaches with bonus nausea. That stuff is normal for me, even with medication, but I keep on rolling. Thanks for your concern. :)
The old cues is way better than da new cues!!!!!!!
Wow this brings back memories. Being "sick" staying home from school and watching this
Really loved the second showcase, the tribute to Sir Alec Guinness, which started with the first set of Star Wars action figures.
We all missed Janice, Diane, Holly, n Katherleen,,,, they were good models
$485 for a week in Las Vegas plus hotel room WOW how things have changed in 40yrs
How much do you want to bet that those Star Wars figurines in the second showcase are worth more now than the entire showcase was worth then?

+Woodie B. Not to mention an amazing playing of Dice Game to win her $5162 car
+Woodie B. It was the bid of $5001 that made it perfect....

I was 24 at that time. I LOVED it when those models wore those dresses.

57:51 - "Stay tuned for _Love Of Life_ next over most of these CBS stations."

Remember those stereo chairs? They should bring them back and add Bluetooth technology to them.
Beautiful! I don't see too many wins like that one.
Never in a million years would I guess the last # in Temptation was 4, good for David.
I was lucky as a youngster I had afternoon kindergarten and got to watch the Price is Right because at that time it was shown 9:30 am CST-10am CST
The dice game was played like a boss!
99¢ for Old English in 1978? wow.
Interesting that they did the quad shot for the ticket plug similar to the opening of Card Sharks, which would make its debut a few weeks later.
I forgot to comment: whenever my girlfriend first saw the frosting commercial, "Frosting isn't the biggest thing in my life" really stood out to her.
is it just me, or is the 2nd showcase always better than the first?
+msmithstud Not always.
it was one of the best parts of staying home sick from school ..but then i got mom torture with the daytime soaps
Best part of this.. the commercials!

I love that he knew about the Nebraska Cornhuskers when the contestant was from Lincoln!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Ayds Powder Diet Drink, wow. I don't even remember that. Bet that didn't last long for obvious reasons.
The Ayds diet candy had been around since the 1930's, prompting the company head to say "We were here first...let the disease change its name"

That's Richard Dawson's line for Fast Money on "Family Feud", Bob.
Thank You, Stephen Barker.
I hope today you're feeling better.

Did anyone think he was going to win Temptation with a price of $5864?
Dan Barker I was deeply skeptical but happy.
do you have any more from the 70s with the commercials? :)
@1:28 The man himself, Jay Wolpert! I'm a fan. :)
Could you find an episode from the 85-86 season that featured a woman playing the Safe Crackers as she has a cowboy hat on?
Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi! You're my only hope!
Hi, Do you have the January 26th 1978 show? I would love to show my grandkids. Thanks, Scott
What year did they have the bonus spin start?
jokerswildfan1972 Season 7 (1978-79).
jokerswildfan1972 December 1, 1978.
+Nathan Allen Correction December 13, 1978.
Bob barker is way better than Drew Caray!!!!!!!!
Nice QUAD shot 18:56
This Price Is Right episode from March 1978 brings back memories. Do you have any episodes from 1977? If so, I would enjoy seeing them on TH-cam.
Re-elect Ken Maddy. lol
Casey Kasem voice over 38:04
TATTLETALES' final week, replaced by PASS THE BUCK. TATTLETALES would return in 1982.
Maddy will beat Jerry Brown. But he did not.
Another female DSW equals a happy Betty White!
She is walked to producer's set.
@54:25 YES!
13:00 'I still call her My Old Lady...' Yes...but she started coloring her hair cause she's having an affair now.
