Azure Data Factory: Upsert with the Copy Data Activity

In this video Austin walks through how to utilize the upsert copy method for a copy activity inside of a pipeline within Azure Data Factory. If you need to do update and insert new data into your Azure SQL Database, this method will give you the ability to do so using the user interface of Data Factory.

Good content . For the first time I came to know about upsert . Could you please let me know from where you have mentioned the things to be updated and inserted ? Was it done in source , from a csv file ?

For this demo I used two different csv files. The initial one to load the table and the second to upsert the data. This could be performed with any source that has new data updated though. So if new data comes into an SQL Server database OLTP system and needs to be moved to an OLAP/DW you could use this option as well. Thanks for the question!

It doesn't work when Synapse as target.. I am having generic pipeline and dynamic column mapping using json.. I want to skip few columns in mapping but it fails.. but the same works in Azure db as target.
