Everybody - whatchagot2say are reactors , they’re gonna be honest about what they think about a song they react to . Theres absolutely NO need to comment hateful things towards the guys and other army . The comments I’ve had to go through and delete were honestly so disgusting . Please be respectful in the comments . As the guys stated they liked the song but disliked JH part . I will keep deleting comments I see that are rude and disrespectful. Thank you 💜

Totally agree with you guys! Given the space, JH’s verses did nothing for me. JK’s part was so enticing and fresh… and then, what was the msg JH brought to the table? I’m getting a rather immature artist? A wasted opportunity as far as I’m concerned.

I agree, I think some reactors never actually give their honest opinions in case of back lash, but I respect that you guys weren’t afraid to say what you thought. Just because we may not like the rap part and the lyrics does not mean we don’t like the song and that we don’t support Jk. JK is amazing and on the alternate version, that shines even more.
I know JK and the other members are grown men and can do what they want, I respect that, but I think we have the right to like or dislike some of their choices, and I also think that just because they are men, does not mean they have to be crude or overtly sexual to prove that. And that is why I don’t listen to most western music and would prefer K Pop, but obviously, everytime JK adds a western rapper, this is what we might get, so I’m just glad he provides us with another option to listen to. JK was always gonna be the bad boy who pushed the boundaries so I get it, and he’s clearly targeting the western market and that’s why most people in the west don’t have an issue with it, because they are used to it all the time.
Anyway, just my opinion and certainly no hate for JK or BTS, but I will listen to the alternate version just as I listen to the clean version of seven.

It's okay to not like something that your favorite put out, or to like the alternative version more. It's also okay to love the song and play it on repeat until your ears fall off. But telling people they don't get it or are prudes or whatever, or that people are stupid for liking Jack Harlow's part, none of that is what ARMY is. ARMY is all of us coming together because of BTS. Respecting each other, learning from each other, supporting and loving each other. We should show the world that ARMY can have different opinions and still be respectful. Right now we're playing into all the hater's preconceived notions about who we are. And I hate that they were right. I hope that next time we can learn from this and be the mature and accepting people that I know we are.

Agreed. I feel like the main issue is that people are seeing criticism towards Harlow’s lines as us babying Jungkook when that’s really not the case at all. I don’t care if JK sings about more “mature” concepts but the main issue that Harlow’s part 1) it wasn’t even JK so the idea that we’re babying him doesn’t fully count and 2) Harlow was technically more “childish” in his use of the time he had. He sort of made of mockery of rap and it honestly hurts for me a lot (especially since, although I’m a GenZ(‘05 liner) I still grew up listening to the actual style that’s used here and the lines were never this bland or (I hate to say) basic). Really though, none of us are boycotting the song or JK and I feel like that should be what’s remembered. All in all, we can all agree that Jk did absolutely amazing and we love his parts.

You guys are the real deal!! Thank you. So many other channels defending Jack Harlow’s rap, making second videos to analyze and say how we should be ok because he is talking about sex and jk is not a child, and that we should “grow up”. Wow. Aren’t we all adults here, please don’t talk to us down. Harlow was not talking about sex and maybe that was the problem. He was just saying some stuff that to me it’s just inappropriate and distasteful, like if that is somewhat cool when it is just extremely generic and cringey truly! I was happy you called it too. Jk is talking about sex too but his verses both here and in Seven were good! I have no problem with sexy lyrics and the more spicy the better but Harlow didn’t do the job for me, that part felt very anticlimactic. I come from enjoying real genius rappers like Suga and RM so this generic stuff is not my cup of tea. It’s not the topic for me, it’s the artistry, the quality. Sticking with the alternate version!

I love that the three of you genuinely respect and appreciate all of the members so much. I always appreciate your honesty; when you love something, you say so! And when you don’t love something, you say that too- respectfully.
Being an ARMY does not mean praising every single song or creative choice that the members make. We can support and appreciate them, while respectfully sharing our own perspectives.
Obviously there are many people who harass and troll the members, and that is not OK. But that is *not* what is happening in your video. I always appreciate your genuine enthusiasm and support for the guys!
I love Jungkook’s music, including 3D. His lyrics in 3D are sexy, flirty, and fun, and I love the choreography so much!
I admire the kind of person he is, and I appreciate his incredible creativity, and hard work. I want the best for him, and for all of the members - I want them all to be happy, healthy, and successful.
And I want them to be able to grow up and live their own lives. And just like with anyone else, that includes making mistakes, and learning and growing from them.
The lyrics that Jack Harlow wrote have nothing to do with being sexy, masculine, or mature. Almost all of his lines are overtly degrading to women.
And it’s not OK for anyone- of any age, gender, race, or sexual orientation- to think or talk about women in this way. Just like it is not OK for anyone to perpetuate messages of racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, or other forms of bigotry.
What we put out into the world does not exist in a vacuum. Jack’s lyrics are being heard by millions of people all over the planet, within the context of overwhelming levels of physical and sexual violence, and other forms of oppression against women around the world.
Thinking and talking about women in a way that objectifies and dehumanizes them, contributes to tangible harm in the world. And all of us- including me, other ARMYs, and the BTS members- have an individual and collective responsibility to not contribute to that harm.
I think that sometimes when BTS members collaborate with other artists, they are in a little bit of a tricky position. They have asked the other artist to work with them, and it may feel uncomfortable to critique the artist’s contribution to the song, or to ask them to change it.
But I hope this is something they will start doing. I know that none of the members think about or treat women in a disrespectful way, and hopefully they will be more mindful of who they collaborate with, and of what messages those artists bring to their songs.
This is not a criticism of sexual or explicit lyrics- those don’t hurt anyone, and there’s nothing wrong with being sexual! But lyrics that are degrading towards women are not just “disrespectful”, they contribute to a culture that harms women.
I know that Jungkook has been receiving so much undeserved criticism and harassment, for things like drinking and smoking, and for the sexual/explicit lyrics in Seven.
He doesn’t deserve that criticism, and he has the right to grow up, and to be his own person.
With regards to Jack’s lyrics, I hope Jungkook is able to separate out all of the valid feedback and critiques, from the trolling and harassment. From personal experience, I know that isn’t an easy thing to do- but it is a skill worth learning!
I am wishing all the best to Jungkook for his upcoming album and solo work, and for his work with the other members when they return in 2025! 💜

Everything you said is so right on! I have tried to say it myself but I don't think it was as eloquent. I have to add another level of context here... Global Citizen Festival... I got the app, did all the actions I could possibly take and learned a lot, and I won two tickets to the show, all FOR JK! But a lot of what is ailing the world and what was a major part of what we are trying to fight for with being a Global Citizen is LIFTING UP WOMEN. This was on their website just as a starter:
      Did You Know
130 million girls are not in school, and a girl is married as a child bride every two seconds.
214 million women and teen girls have no control over one of the biggest decisions of their lives: if and when to safely have children.
Big businesses spend trillions of dollars on suppliers every year, yet just 1% goes to businesses owned by women.
I know we are only talking about one song here, but to me and many people hopefully, we cannot have this kind of disrespect anymore. The rap was tasteless and creepy. And it added nothing to the song, many reactors have said the same, even men! I ADORE JK, he has been my bias since the beginning, he is so talented and remarkable! I was worried about him collabing with other artists, because I can never get enough of his vocals, etc. He is amazing, I love him, I will support him unendingly and have been streaming 3D and Seven non stop, but he's got precious little time till he goes off to the military and I just don't want this to be rubbing off on him. I said before that I thought he was just really going for what would take him as far away from his baby Kookie image as possible and he accomplished that for sure! Let's just hope there is a sweet ballad on the album, at least one please 🙏.
In the end, I love the song, it's funky and fun, JT and MJ vibes that I love, so JK did a fabulous job with that, he's an extraordinary talent and a sweet guy and I support him. But I care about women and this world and we need to lift them up!

They've collaborated with more problematic people than Jack Harlow, and Seoul Town Road was about sex, and arguably so it Butter, so I'm not 100% buying all the reasons people seem to hate Jack's verses. And all the words ARMY on Reddit are throwing around like "demeaning" and "misogynistic" seem like either a huge stretch or they're misreading the lyrics. Because what is misogynistic about a rapper calling himself a whore for being promiscuous, and then a chorus which is literally all about consent and pleasing a woman?

Thx for the honest feedback! ARMYs are torn on this song.
The good: Cool rhythm. Cool sound like from the early 2000s. The video and choreography are fantastically produced, too. It all has a Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson vibe, which I and many
    ARMY love.
The bad: The lyrics are shallow. Singing about sex is not a sign of maturity. There are many songs about sex, which is fine, but this song does it in a disrespectful manner. JK said it would show a more mature side of him, but that's not what this song did. BTS always built people up, especially girls. That's mature. They have a reputation of uplifting music with deeper meaning and ARMY loves that. That is why their following became so huge. People crave that in a world that degrades us and is full of hardship. This song objectifies women just like so many other songs being pushed out to the masses. From many comments on his TH-cam MV, I can tell this song has hurt JK's reputation. Many girl ARMYs are upset by the message. I hope JK hasn't always felt this way about women because it's off-putting. I also hope this doesn't hurt BTS.
The ugly: The rap. I don't think that enough ARMY understand the lyrics in the rap and what they mean. They say monogamy is boring, that several sex partners is good, and refer to girls as "dead bodies" to brag about. If a boy trying to date a girl told her this in person, the relationship would probably be over. Many tell us these things are ok, but those beliefs will never make anyone happy in the end. What's really sad is that Jack Harlow is not a huge star in America and part of the reason is that most of his raps are explicit, very degrading to women, and nasty regarding sex. Bighit knew this. JK may have known this. Yet they invited Jack to collaborate with JK anyway. I would like to know why. Jack's lyrics have always gone against BTS's messaging and what they are built on.
I want you to know that I am not a hater, but I do worry when people I love make poor decisions that I think will hurt themselves. I also think it's important for all artists to get honest feedback from their fans. ARMY are not required to blindly follow and love everything members do. If JK wants to gain fans and money, he has to strike a balance between what he wants and what his fans want. It's what all successful artists must do. Sorry this is long, but that's my full opinion.

@@bhargavipba I hope so. I worry that these kinds of creative choices will lose him many fans, especially in the older and younger demographic; the older because they are tired of American music that treats sex this way, and the younger demographic because many parents don’t want their children exposed to explicit songs. BTS was generally considered a safe space where people go to be uplifted and challenged to think deeply about themselves and others. Besides their raw talent and good looks 🙂, that’s what attracts their ARMY. That’s what I hope JK will realize and return to.

TBH both collabs so far to me have felt like back room deals made by non-artist executives to support HYBE America and to climb American charts at the expense of Korean artists. And I think that’s why it feels off and tacked on, in a way previous collabs have not. I was surprised at how many bars J.Cole got in On the Street, but it was good stuff and I know Hobi was honored, so it didn’t feel dissonant in that way. I feel like there’s some revenue-driven art direction happening on JK’s collabs that doesn’t feel good. I’m glad he’s proud of his work, taking his words at face value, and there are a lot of things about both projects that I love - but I feel there’s a deeper vibe happening here than just some lyrics. We as observers will never know the whole truth of how these things go down, so all we can do is speculate. Either way we still don’t deserve attempts at silencing and being bulled for expressing those opinions.

First I like to say you guys are my favorite reaction channel because of your great personalities and chemistry together. Also the reations from you feel genuine and come from a professional point of view which you incorporate into your discussions earnestly but with fun too. Second, I love this song, the production and everything about JK on it but man it seems you read my mind almost word for word about Jack Harlows parts they just took me out the enjoyment of the song totally. I think his flow was ok for about 1st 5 seconds and then it went downhill. Felt clumsy, disjointed and angered me with his sloppy ending. Your facial expressions and body language as you were observing Jack's parts, they said it all😂.
I HIGHLY suggest you check out the alternative version of 3D becausenof NO Jack on there. I'm sure you will absolutely love it and enjoy the groove with JK'S killer ad libs.❤

Thank you Nico, Blaze and AJJ. You all know more about American rap and what it takes to do it well - lyrics or storytelling, flow, cadence, switches, sitting in the pocket, riding a beat etcetc Appreciate your honesty. Like you I agree the song will chart because it does have a catchy groove and the dance choreo is sharp. MV is formulaic with the "Step Up" vibe (including a water shower dance break) and no originality in the video. Could have done without that ending too. It started off promising, built, dipped in the middle, tried to elevate then it crashed.

I have to go against the grain here.. I actually loved the rap flow, and I really think everyone is getting too worked up over JH’s lyrics. This is who he is. This is his rap style. These are the things he raps about. JK is a grown mature man who is not as innocent as everyone thinks. He knew exactly what this song was about and still chose Jack to collab with. I think the flow between them works, and it makes this song a banger🔥 I prefer this one to the alternative one.. just my opinion. We are all entitled to our own.

The thing is… this isn’t about JK not being innocent. This is about the lyrics being immature in Jack Harlow’s parts. We know JK is grown and is going to sing about more “adult” stuff but 1) Jack’s part wasn’t JK and 2) his parts (Jack’s) were extremely childish and immature overall. The flow is nice, at some parts… but it really does sort of just… disrespect rap.

I think what many fans are having a hard time with is not that he’s singing about sex. Plenty “mature” singers do this. That’s probably why we didn’t see this much backlash against Seven. Singing about sex is commonplace & some BTS songs approached it. What fans seem to be having a hard time with is his attitude towards sex that was revealed in this song. His 3D dance/choreography video even ends with him pretending to give himself a hand job. It doesn’t come off as mature. Many reactions to his MV I saw went as far as to say his attitudes are “pornographic.” 😳 I wouldn’t go that far, but those rap lyrics gave a perverse vibe to the already edgy song. For some, it was too far. They are disappointed.

7:42 I love your expressions! I'm not amused by Harlowe's lyrics, because I think they're quite disrespectful to girls... We're not some trophy you can show off to your buddys, little dude.
But I'm glad to see you guys also apply higher standards. I can push it aside and listen to the alternate version where it's only JK, but yeah, those lyrics leaving an aftertaste in my mouth like very old goat cheese... -.-
I would like to know why JK decided to do it like that. I trust he sees some value in the rap and ok, if I don't listen to what he's saying, the rap is fine. But what he's saying is simply not leaving a good impression. Not doing anybody any favours. 😕

I respect artists' creative work but the rap killed the vibe and took the song from sexy, sultry to crass and not even clever. The performance video dropped today and it is great, you hear Harlow but he is not in it and the demeaning comments about women are less impactful without seeing him and a line of women next to him. The other version of the song is just JK singing and is much better.

I am 100% in agreeance with that. The feat was just not hitting it for me. However I have seen some great theories about how JK and JH are playing opposites of each other. JK being the considerate, asking for consent, wanting to please his woman. VS JH being the toxic male with bad traits, womanizer. It also shown visually with black and white, chest pieces, etc.

    • @thzead
      @thzead 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

See I've seen those theories as well, and I love the idea of it... because it would make it a lot easier for me to accept Jack Harlow's parts if their was an underlying message being conveyed and a purpose too it... but after rewatching the MV several times... I just don't see it.
That's the way they should have gone with it but if that was their intent the delivery was awfully presented in the MV. I also think someone would have come out with some clarification of it if that was in fact the case to try and avoid a lot of this backlash it's facing.
I will say however that their is a possibility of it, because I find it interesting that 'Seven' was also a little controversial in the sense that his 'sincere' love was also portrayed to be somewhat stalkerish and people took it as such... almost as if he's intentionally showing two sides of the same coin in relation to 'love'. I would love if their was a part 3 that sort of ties in both 'Seven' and '3D' to give the fans a clear depiction between 'right' and 'wrong'.

Don't think it's a confidence thing, I just think they know that the west still sits on BTS somewhat. So a collab is the best way to improve longevity on the charts.

You basically have two men from different cultures talking about the same thing but with opposing views....
***Side note: Rappers and their groupies feed into each other vices and there are tons of videos on YT of folks talking about the wild parties and the shenanigans that women are more than happy to partake in...These women are not victims as they are willing participants ... Thus Jack's rap was pivotal in opposing JK desire for one-on-one/commitment ***
Let me explain as I feel there is a deeper dive here:
After watching the video I feel like JK and JH are representing men who have OPPOSING VIEWS of women in which they both feel they are right… with JK viewing a consensual relationship as important (even asking if she is "willing") … while Jack Harlow (JH) views his sexual conquests as what’s important.
Even the chess game can be viewed as a metaphor for their opposing yet competitive views.
I was not offended by Jack's lyrics …as he was not rapping about me.
But he is referring to the women in his reality that do exist; the ones who are in his world….by choice.
I really feel that for this collab, there are Armys who are familiar with Jack and were not surprised by his lyrics (and his avoidance in calling women b!tches… golly gee was a plus!)
And for JK’s view of being consensual in his approach to women, Jack's lyrics were the opposite AND necessary to highlight the differing views in the song; while Jack takes on as many women as he can (and these are women who are more than willing to participate).
If you look at the video from that perspective, you can't get mad as there are men who fall into both categories and women who are more than happy to provide the company.

Oh my goodness! I never even considered that. It makes so much sense. Even though the lyrics weren't offensive to me and I knew Jack was speaking on his own behalf, about himself. I never even considered the chess game part. I really didn't see how it tied in but knew it had to be an Easter egg for something. The closest I got was realizing that the chess board, jks jacket, and a few other things were black and white. Idk if it means something but it made me think. I'm still trying to figure out the horse ( you don't want to know where my mind went with that one) and the young man with the two different colored hair.
