- This was back in May 2018. Driver escaped with just cuts and bruises. I just wanted to show that this is a machine. This was a fully loaded cement mixer. Definitely putting the ol roast potato to the test 👊👌 #raffles #shopping #lombardo #recovery #teamlombardo #lombardomerch
What a mess, hope the driver was ok. So much power from that old girl, I do love a good wrecker!
Driver was fine. Obviously few cuts and bruises.👍
Too heavy
Level load next time
👍 Thanks Shaun.
As I said in my other comment, I'm guessing you uploaded this after the fools that you proved wrong on TT channel said that your wrecker/rotator is not up to their standards. It sure is, great clip and dam how lucky was the driver of that, unbelievable that he walked away from it.
Keep up your great work 👍
Yes just wanted to show what the ol girl can do 👍
how in the name of god did the driver get out of that one with a few cuts.....lucky isnt the word for it the driver had someone looking after him hope the driver bought lottery tickets after
nice to see old recovery trucks still working. as long as they maintained no reason why they shouldn't go on forever
Yep, till the greenies put them off the road.
Hi again Shaun. If you have anymore stuff like this no matter how old it is, then I'm sure your viewers would love to see them, I know I would.
I know you're a busy man, but if you get a chance why not upload some 👍
Cheers Terry 👍
The DAF CF before the facelift are so underated one of the toughest trucks ever made
I drove an 8 wheeler HIAB FOR 4 years bullet proof great wagon
It's not the size of your equipment It's what you can do with it
Oh matron.😅😂
Aaar the old lorry that’s not fit for purpose seems to earning its way still 💪
Anyone who thinks it's not up to the job, knows nothing about it, why would someone turn up to do a job with the wrong kit? 😂 Shaun knows what to do. The shiny ones don't lift more
Such a bizarre statement. Plenty of people have turned up to jobs with the wrong kit.
@@kingy002 well they're clearly Muppets then. It's not rocket science, if a machine weight is 20ton your not going to take a machine that can't lift it. It's just stupidity.
@@kingy002was going to say the same 😂 clearly never done recovery before.
@@kingy002 not just the wrong kit but the wrong attitude. I've sent people away before as they still try and lift when the recovery is clearly not safe at all.
Way too many censors on hgv vehicles these days… that daf is perfect for the job. 👍
I do declare naming this lorry
NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE, god save Lombardo 😂😂😂 get it sticker up boy👍🏻👍🏻
Yes 👍
Well the recovery operator has cemented his place on TH-cam.
You have concrete evidence of this?
Thats for sure Do Not Use at any Price,
Fantastic I run older kit. Just because it’s shiny can’t guarantee it will work. Experience is the key factor.
None there then, A load of Chancers.
Shaun should get merchandise saying not fit for purpose 👌🤣
Or 'does this meet your standards'
I don't quite get the "not fit for purpose" tag line, but one thing that is definitely *NOT" fit for purpose, is the cab of most trucks. Yes, I realise saving cost is much of the game with manufacturing, but they should do a better job of not collapsing in a crash, than that.
Nice work shaun and team. Hope the driver is OK.
Cheers 👍
Ya I see that vid where that supervisor said Shaun D.A.F wasn't up to pulling think it was 8 wheeler which had sank in ground, but bet that old D.A.F can keep up wiv modern wreckers, how on earth did the driver get out of that alive????
Jheez … conny lorry cab was a right mess
Not sure whats not Fit for Purpose ? The Truck or The Operators, Both look Micky Mouse to me.
They made hard work of the easy bit?? Shame did not see the rest? just as well , what we did see was a Fuck Up, You can only get Better thats for sure.
Think it done bloody well considering what was asked of it and the driver ⚓🔧🤠 JB
Jeez that truck is knackered!
You played on the side of caution. You still had the second o/s steer axle on the tarmac. Great job hope the driver is safe and well.
Oh dear gm concrete kings Lynn looks like
WOW.... Did the driver get out ?
That's a nice daf 8 legger wrecker.
Looking at the cab, Id say that rolly ment mixer driver was very, very lucky!
Couldn't agree more. The roof must have been so close to crushing him.
What's the reason for having your wrecker parked at that angle and therefore lifting over the back corner? That's a rotator's danger zone surely?
Looks pretty suitable to me great job Shaun
More than can be said about the operator then ffs
3.30 I was just thinking, he needs to push it out with his boom
Clearly not trained well, he shouldn’t be standing anywhere near that recovery lorry at that angle if that support leg failed and the lorry come over he would be seriously hurt or killed.
No Sence no Feeling lol
You cant park there!
NOT FIT FOR. Interest.
How did it get there?
Someone we use still uses a 54 plate Daf CF with a HiAb. Great wagons, I remember multi dropping with a 18t prime mover with 1 million K's on it and that was around town, day in day out.
Exactly 👍
Why you buy a Scania or Volvo...we had an English guy in NZ,drop 200ft,and survived...that cabs a warning to all DAF drivers!
Hope the driver was ok that cab looks bad
It's not the equipment it's how it's used can't beat experienced
Exactly 👍
I'm confused what is not fit for purpose? The accident damaged Daf CF OR the Daf 8 Leg Rotator? Considering the damage to the Daf mixer the driver did well to get away with only cuts & bruises I'd also say I don't want to drive a Daf mixer although I have been seen in 8 Leg Daf CF's
Yesssssss the DAF!
Wow m8 looks like our kneck of the woods, however did he get out of that !!
Well reckon you guys proved this is a highly capable bit of kit!
Are you for Real ???????
Should have been extending the boom when it started pulling him off his blocks.
Must missed this on Tims vids you setting up an channel . can we pop in one day Sean we not far
What a lovely soft touch down. I hope the driver is ok, it cab is worrying twisted.
Cheers 👍
Bloody lucky driver ready for a new chassis hope he’d delivered the concrete or that’s scrap as well👍
Ouch.
Was I the only one thinking that truck is never going to be able to drag the cement mixer out of the field, and waiting for the recovery truck to be dragged over?
Proper motor fella 👍😎
It sure is mate 👍
Yeah she will Be Fine mate Just change the headlight bulb do your screen wash and off you go. Listen to the camera man Boom out Above the Casualty..
A coupla months back, I passed a stunning US International Lone Star wrecker truck on the M1. Anyone out there know this guy ?
Concrete evidence of driver error. Nice wrecker!
I'd not have stood there, no way, anything breaks, so do you.....
Great job. Slow and steady wins the race 🎉
On the limit but in control at all times, very good, Driver of the mixer is very lucky looking at the damage! On to the next one!
Cheers 👍
Great video
And without the help of your little helper (Trucker Tim) 😅
the area looks familiar, wgere abouts was it?
So odd that after watching lots of Ron Pratt with his rotator heavy recovery vehicle i realised i've never seen a rotator type heavy recovery vehicle in the UK, only the straight lift heavy recovery vehicles. It's cool to know that we do have them here for those challenging recoveries :)
Their is loads Of Rotators in the UK.
Plenty in the UK I have been recovered with one when road collapsed under my tanker and it few against a pole
Ron Pratt's fantastic. He's another one that's extremely skilled and highly experienced. Used to watch him all the time a while back.
I used to watch Ron Pratt but, his head cam footage made me queasy.
Great guy with the right attitude for getting the job done and done right/safely.
Thank you for your comment. They are very popular in the uk 👍
Did the driver get out of that alive??
I hate the site's that dictate what you should have and know how the job should be done......
Yet all there back ground is....pen pushing and know how to tick boxes.
How can you write out RAMS on jobs like this?
It takes the knowledge of the op (Shaun) knowing his equipment and making the best decision and lift plan at time....
If it was all down to these funp witts nothing be done in this world.
Right Shaun......you should of.....had a brew in hand....lol
No nice upright and recovery.....well done chap but your gear and experience to good work.
NO Experiencein this case thats for sure. a load of Amateurs trying to do a Professional job more like it.
Your job has a lot of squeeky bum times...lol.....Excellent
It sure does👍 do you live Isle of Man? Sorry for random question lol 😂
@@gcalombardoltd yes I do believe it are not...lol...Did you drag that mixer out of the field are is that a next video?..
@@TruckerMRB I love Isle of Man. Me and Helen are there in May for the tt
@@gcalombardoltd The TT is excellent and the new boat is lovely...I went to the lake district a few months ago via haysham on the Manxman and its so nice ..
What happened to the driver of the concrete lorry wkth the flattened cab?
Bloodyhell that cab was crushed nearly flat
Wow. I wouldn't have wanted to be in that truck!
Must have been the bend in the road that put him in the ditch.
I'm curious, what's the mileage on the old girl?
What a mess!!Well done Shaun you HERO!!
How on earth did the drivers escape from that?!
Still delivering cement in Africa!
That cab was well squashed. I wonder how the driver fared, seems like not much chance to survive that.
He walked away with scratches
Carnt park there mate.
👍
Cheers. It was my first watch. I was crying out for the guy to extend the jib.. very glad the driver was okay. Must gave been a squeeze ..😊
Good to see common sense being employed - get the cement mixer on its wheels then come back with a recovery tow-truck and tow it away. There was no way to lift it up the embankment!
Common Sence where the fuck was any of that ffs, A load of Chancers more like, Next time they want to leave it to the Professionals that have a Brain,
Driver is very lucky, looks like a fatal.
How Is the driver?!
Driver was fine says in description
@johnp6636 okay thanks
@@Trucker86NLwere you the driver ? If so you're one lucky man.
Very lucky
Rather than knocking the recovery crew....how about the tosspot that drove the mixer off the road.
If the Tosspot had not put it in the field, You would have not seen the TOSSPOTS trying to Badley Recover it lol
Nice kit. Well handled. Well up to the job.
Cheers 👍
Where was this?
Littleport 👍
Oh .he walked away . great...
Wouldn't have liked to be in that mixer when it went over cab looks fucked
Bit of T-cut, that should buff out.
Need t-shirts done with pic of recovery truck with NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE printed asap.
No T Shirts required, The World now know they are NOT FIT for PURPOSE, lol
I may be taking a wild guess here, but.... the weight of that mixer lorry multiplied by lever arm (length of crane boom) = more than that crane can handle.
Or the Operator in that case lol
Did it buff out?
If it was repaired by a Pakistani team, it would.
was it full 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think the mixer is too heavy for the truck
Beast
She really is 👍
Was that Manea Road?
Great work shaun
Nice job Shaun 👊🏾
Are you for Real, He must think so as well? he wants the World to see he is a Wanker
Daf for the scrappers
great channel shaun
roasted boom
Gm concrete?
Great job, Shaun
That’s a risk when you take a short cut, 😂😂
Yes and offten costly lol
HTF do these truck drivers get into a situation like that.....PROFESSIONALS.
Mobile phones
Or maybe some arsehole coming the other way in his lane, eh?
Special Brew.
Another great video as always
Nice one Shaun.
Any room in the budget for an 8×8 Oskosh ? 😉
More like a Brain Transplant first maybe the best idea,
Nice one Shaun 👍🏻
Nice work
