وزيرة إكوادورية من أصل لبناني، متخصّصة في الرّسم والفنون. تنشط في الحركات الإنسانية وهي مفاوض سلام. ولدت في العام ١٩٥٠ في مدينة كويكيل في الإكوادور. كان لها مقعد في معهد "غوتيه" الألماني. في عام ١٩٩٠ عملت ودرّست الفنون في جامعة هارفرد حيث أسست مؤسسة جامعة هارفارد للفنون من أجل السلام ونظمت معارض فنية في البلدان المتنافسة. أنشأت مؤسّسة "بلا حدود" وكرّست نشاطاتها لرفع المستوى الصّحي في الإكوادور والبيرو. في عام ١٩٩٨ وبعد صراع استمر خمسين عاماً نجحت في حلّ السلام بين إكوادور وبيرو. عام ١٩٩٨ عُيّنت سفيرة للإكوادور في واشنطن وكانت أول امرأة يتم تعيينها في هذا المنصب. في عام ٢٠٠٢ ، خاضت الانتخابات الرئاسية الإكوادورية ، لكنها لم تكن محظوظة. في يونيو ٢٠١٧ ، تم تعيينها سفيرة في قطر ثم في الولايات المتحدة الأميركية في فبراير ٢٠٢٠.

Yvonne Abdel Baqi, a Lebanese political expatriate in Ecuador, is an artist, painter, diplomat, peace negotiator, active in humanitarian movements, and a multi-faceted personality. She was born in 1950 in the city of Koykil, Ecuador. She majored in painting and arts and was a scholar in the German institute Goethe. In 1990 she worked as a resident artist center at Harvard University and taught art there. She founded the Harvard University Art for Peace Foundation and organized art exhibitions in rival countries. In her country, she created the "Borderless" Foundation and devoted itself to raising the health standard in Ecuador. It sought and succeeded in resolving the peace between Ecuador and Peru in 1998 after a conflict that lasted fifty years. Abedalbaki was appointed the Ecuadorian Ambassador to the United States of America, the first woman appointed to this office in 1998. In 2002, she ran in the Ecuadorian presidential election, but she was not lucky. In June 2017, she was appointed ambassador to Qatar then to the USA in February 2020.
