Did Hoonigan Do Him Dirty?! VIRAL JEEP WRECK EXPLAINED!

  • At this point, everyone in the off road community (and the automotive community in general) has seen the viral Jeep wreck from Hoonigan's recent This vs That Off Road episode. The question is, did Hoonigan do him dirty by not airing the walk-around of his Jeep Wrangler build or his driver interview?

For those confused about the point of this video - to clarify, no one is arguing fault of the wreck, they came to party & he sent it too hard. The question is, did they do him dirty (and the Raptor owner) by not showing their driver interviews and vehicle walk-arounds (like they generally do with all competitors) so that viewers had better knowledge of the build and drivers could have opportunity to market their company/shop in the process like they were promised. Would that have mitigated ignorant comments like some of the ones we discussed at the very end of this video? And also given the competitors at least some of the marketing benefits they were promised, but never received since the interviews weren’t aired?

Ya they most certainly did him dirty. Dixi offroad should get the publicity or atleast the same coverage as the other contenders.

( The question is, did they do him dirty (and the Raptor owner) by not showing their driver interviews and vehicle walk-arounds ) Are you going to Showcase the Raptor driver like you did with this driver? Or is this just a Jeep thing? Before anyone goes bashing me. I like Jeeps and bronco's. I like Litebrite what you all do. I just disagree on this video.

Hooligan handled the whole thing wrong they promised to do things but failed to deliver and then grabbed the lime light it may be their highest watched show but I for one won't be watching it also now the Jeeps been shown and this interview the bronco driver should have the same opportunity but Dixie off road aren't mucking around if they can fab n rebuild a vehicle that fast to that standard I honestly have to tip my hat to them for the effort and for the honesty in what happend well done as usual guys

Thank you for doing this for Bryce. Bryce and his family are quite simply great people. His parents fixed my Jeep in Moab on a weekend when their shop was not even open so that I could make it home. Thank you for using your influence for good and to show respect and honor and be good people. We need more of it. Heavy respect!

similar story for me. I was in Moab and my clutch completely burned out. I was supposed to leave in 2 days! Bryce took it on, and got the clutch replaced in a day and a half, including staying in Moab on a Friday night to finish up Saturday morning, even though he was commuting from St George! If they were still open in Moab, they would be my top recommendation for repairs. I will always recommend Dixie 4wd!

When I talked with Bryce afterwards he really downplayed the crash (typical Bryce). That should have crumpled any “stock Jeep” like a soda can! That he walked away from that crash is testament to how overbuilt JL1 is!!! And he brought it back even better with basically just sheet metal! The only stock Jeep parts that were left is what had to be replaced! Those of us who know the man and his machine KNOW that truth!! Thank you for telling the true story!! Hoonigan used to have an okay show, not that we would watch everyone though. Words through the grape vine were already telling a not so good look on there part. "Leaving for dinner ". We know its true now. So if you see a hoonigan sticker on someone broke down, tell them you are late for dinner. 😅 that was so wrong and not part of my off road community.
    Thank you.

Good on you for this video and it's content!! You've done Bryce and Dixie 4 wheel drive, a great service!! It speaks volumes of your character and the off-road community, as a whole!!

Solid move Lite Brite. That story wouldn’t have gotten the proper. Overage if you hadn’t done this segment.
So Roll Cage??? Coming soon? Did Matt give you a spot?

I've always had respect for yall and now I have even more for what yall just did for him and I've lost respect for hoonigan for how they portrayed it. I wish I could just have some of the things yall take off of your jeeps to put bigger and better stuff on. I have a stock 2019 jlus except for aftermarket rims and can't wait to be able to put bumpers lift and hopefully one day lockers and or bigger better axel. Love the vids keep them coming.

Glad to hear the whole story or the story since the only thing I saw was a jeep flipping on a vodeo someone sent me.Pretty screwed up deal right there !

If it was still Hoonigan instead of Wheel Pros disguised as Hoonigan maybe they would have stuck with the format. Hoonigan doesn't even have the Tireslayer Studios anymore.

First of all: I am glad Bryce is okay.
That was one hell of a crash!
The new jeep looks fabulous - It's incredible that this jeep was built in 3 months, you must not have slept.
    Shame on Hoonigan!

30:02 no kidding. No one leaves till everybody leaves. I really think it’s a “production company” thing to only worry about the shot, and everything else is not important.

Cudos to Lite Brite for shedding light to Bryce’s side of the story. Cudos to Bryce and his team for making it out alive and making a bad situation better. I would expect better from Hoonigan but since the person who put Hoonigan on the map passed away, Hoonigan isn’t Hoonigan anymore.

For some reason when watchin any video I watch for a bit and then I go to the comments to get a feel or take on what other viewers think. Especially when I know little or nothing about the content. I was immediately impressed about how positive the comments were for the driver of the crashed Jeep and the channel for explaining, what was to me, a confusing issue.
As to Hoonigan I only knew them from the vids of the drag racing between the young daughter and different racers or bad Street cars. Is that correct? I knew of the tragedy but didn't know about the sale of the company.
Rarely does a sale of this kind result in the same type of content if you lose all the "characters" that made the original shows so popular. The new owners are just buying a "name" not personalities but I do recognize when promises are made to get talent for an event, especially last minute recruitment of talent, and then the promises get "forgotten". Rarely is there any legally binding contracts involved. Racers wanna race. We/they are a trusting bunch.
Sorry, PTSD and me always writing too much.
All ya'll seem like good people.
