Hey Amy! I’m from Nanchang in Jiangxi! I highly recommend Xiao Ou Shui Zhu (小欧水煮) located at Xihu! The flavours are exclusive to Nanchang and I literally crave the unique taste regularly! The shop is also very well known amongst locals (there’s always a line so I recommend arriving early!) I’m currently living in Sydney, Australia and there’s nothing like it here or anywhere around China! Hope you can give it a visit and share your thoughts and experience!
The diversity in China is epic ! Huangling village in Jiangxi province amazing ! A public outdoor pool in an ancient village ( that deserves a double-take) @2:40 Amy is a Fan Bing Go natural Love how Amy likes to be surprised from the different cuisines in her travels. From her concise descriptions of the dish in appearance , color , taste and texture , one can almost virtually taste it . ( LOL )
Absolutely gorgeous views, the village with the drying food, the stunning schoolhouse, the food; it's a feast for the eyes. I'd give anything to have gone into the pool, I don't think I've seen any pool with such a special view of the village. 🥰 I'm living vicariously through you and I love it!
Hello Amy - you're so lucky to visit so many different beautiful places in China and to try a variety of foods from different provinces. Thank you for showing us sceneries we haven't had a chance to see in person! Best wishes to you!
I am from Jiangxi Wuyuan, next to Huangling. This village is well preserved. We locals also go there often. Thanks for your video to show the world "China's most beautiful countryside - Wuyuan!" In addition to Huangling, there are many other beautiful villages in Wuyuan, looking forward to your exploration.
Amy, your content is so helpful and interesting to watch! I've been following your footsteps to many cities in China, especially those less popular ones. You make me feel so proud as a Chinese! Thank you! 希望你持续带给我们这么棒的内容,支持你!
I have been following you for some time now and your videos always make me excited and hungry and happy. I thought this episode was super cool as you spoke Chinese far more than I feel like I have seen in others and it was super cool to hear some of the words that I have come to learn because of you. I just think it was overall amazing of course!
Find it hard to believe this is the spiciest province....surely Hunan and Szechuan will be putting in a disputation😄 Great little village though with beautiful view. Loving this discoveries of rural China, you can see the pride and the regionalism plus the efforts put in to preserve the architecture and culture. China is so big and diverse and the food culture so deep, you keep unearthing gems! Can't wait for more!🤗
Since you are already in Jiangxi, maybe you should go to try some really delicious fish heads in 千岛湖(Thousand Islands Lake)which really has 1078 islands in 1 lake and is just next door to Jiangxi Province, Blondie. And also 千岛湖 has some really unique food which can not be found anywhere else in China. BTW, if you are lucky enough to find one of the most ancient man-powered wooden boats on the lake (which is really disappering),you will realize that this is the only place where share the same paddling skill with Venice in Italy (the Gondola) . As far as I know, this are the only places which move the boat with 1 single side paddle. Not 2 paddles nor 1 paddle both sides.
Wow beautiful drone shots. I never heard about Jiangxi being known for spicy food. Sichuan and their 麻辣, Hunan 干辣 etc are more well known I guess? Looks like a great place to visit, for the cool architecture and the food!
the village is beautiful! every time i watch your videos i have a new place i want to visit added to my bucket list 😅 8:47 as a tofu lover this looks amazing i’ll have to try to find a recipe
You’re far braver than I am with you spice tolerance/willingness to eat some of these spicy dishes. This place has been on my “must visit” list for a while but I definitely won’t look and cool and collected as you do when tasting such spicy dishes 😅 ❤
Can’t wait to see you filming videos at my hometown Nanchang. Lovely city and local people can be some hot tempered but they are friendly actually. Hope you enjoy the rice noodles and all different street foods. Love from Hobart❤
Yay! Jiangxi - my home away from home when in China. And your Chinese is getting better than mine 😢 not fair. Time to hit the books again, and spend more time in China! Wonderful video- looking forward to more of your Jiangxi journey.
She is more Chinese than I am. I only speak Thaisan (forgot most of it now), Hindi (forgot half of it) and English, though English mostly being from a Christian Brothers (who were Irish) boarding school near Darjeeling. I lived 4 years in British Hong Kong as a teenager then went to the US to study. Now I am retired and enjoy her videos in China as I never been to China. Of course, Hong Kong is now China but it was a British colony then. I experienced the Cultural Revolution, the street bombings, the Red Guards, etc. She is funny and that accent!

It is true chill in in everything. My wife is from Anhui and her town is also chili crazy, fresh chili is a vegetable dish. The smaller the town, the higher on the mountain, the more chili.
The chaomipian reminds of like, a traditional kind of rice krispie treat. I don't know if you have those in Australia, but they're basically puffed rice that's been glued together with marshmallow fluff and cut into rectangles--isn't that basically the same thing?
