I've only ever used pliers and a pick to gradually work the clip out of its groove. Prying with a screwdriver has a tendency to bend the clip. Which is fine as long as you have new clips
I’ve definitely slipped and accidentally stabbed my fingers many times when using a flathead screwdriver, so I bought a cheap pair of snapping pliers, and 20 years later they still do the job.
I'll be completely honest...lol I have one of those pliers but could not find them 🤪. So.... mans got to do what a mans got to do. Thank you for the support
Uh... Yeah. Pliers. They're that shape for a reason. Put an impact socket on it and Smack it with a hammer first, it'll come right out unless its really rusty. If its rusty, this works. Kinda...
Yes, probably half dozen. What I do not ha e is organization skills. I could not find them. You know kind of like when you're looking for a Phillips and all you find is a flat head.
Oh I don't doubt it. I just put 1,200 Wirth of parts into my new jeep after hitting a wall. Axles and everything. Lost two wheels completely including brake calibers. Damn it I didn't fix it, then my medication made .e blink on a curve.....I took out a telephone pole. Landed right on top of my jeep. Totaled. No insurance cause 3mths prior I could no longer afford it. Custom 2 tone leather decked out all bells and whistles cherokee 2018, paid 8,000 cash down, $19,000 during covid, worth 43,000. They tried to buy it back for 30,000 the next year. Ah life is funny my friend. ✌🏽 from Kentucky

Yes, I bent a couple but the new joint comes with new clips

Does it ever bend the clip ?
Yes. You get new ones when you buy the new U Joint. But you can definitely re use these if not too bent out of shape.
I thought the tool for it was plies
That's not Pennsylvania. For sure!
California

Wear eye protec, nevermind good on you for saying it.
Looks like two tools and not just a screwdriver. Misinformation
I suppose you're correct
Good luck getting it back one back in without pliers homie.
I know....lol
I actually have pliers but could not find them.
Try a punch and knock u joint cap in a little, this will make clip come out easier.
Great advice, that does release pressure from the clip itself. Thank you for your support
not for nothing, but if your gonna do that job, buy a good set of pliers
I have some but I'm disorganized and could not find then 😝
Bruh, screwdriver 🪛 at angle, hit screwdriver with hammer 🔨. Used for stubborn and stuck G rings.
THERE IS A TOOL FOR THAT
We all know that, this is incase you do not own that tool or misplaced it like me 🤪
Life is dangerous make sure you wear safety goggles 24/7 7 days a week
Yup, losing an eye is the worst.
Flat head and channel locks
😂😂
So you don’t own needle nose pliers?
Yes, probably half dozen. What I do not ha e is organization skills. I could not find them. You know kind of like when you're looking for a Phillips and all you find is a flat head.
How are you going to put it back in. 😂
I'm not, I sold the aluminum police interceptor drive shaft. It's easy though
@gearhead_automotive2031 nice. I know how to I have the tool brother.
Oh I don't doubt it.
