I am fortunate to live 20 minutes away from these real locomotives here in Pennsylvania, so I really liked this video. I've seen them many times and am glad to see that Lionel wasted no time in getting a model of these to market. Congrats on your first Legacy engine. Many more are to come.
Those are one awesome set of engines! Lionel definately nailed them! They look jusg like the real thing! Even got the smoke stack right it appears! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Jason ... Nice Orange Box and great 1st Legacy choice. You asked what you should buy next, and it would only be fitting ... Lionel O 2222090 Norfolk Southern 40th Anniversary Set!!!
Train Model Collection is a awesome hobby. Brilliant Stuff . The detailing on the locomotive be it sound the horn the lights or the smoke coming out is just Brilliant. People who fascinated by Locomotives & Trains can relate 🤘🏻👌🏼💯
A friend of mine Runs this as part of the R&N passenger department. My wife and I rode their first excursion with this locomotive in their Pullman car. My Dad and I recently rode behind it in their observation car, King Coal. Great times! Fun video, Cool to see Lionel made a model, maybe I need one for the collection!
Didn't I see a video of you laughing at the suggestion of buying a Lionel locomotives a while ago lol. Nice purchase. I still have not considered buying my first DCS yet lol. Everyone had their own brands they like. I figured you bought this Reading & Northern because it's a ex-Norfolk Southern locomotives. You picked a great set.
Beautiful pair of locomotives. I do love Lionel's bass units. I'd say Jason that you picked a great first Lionel Legacy locomotive. Awesome job on the video. I am so impressed with how you pulled all the different elements of the video together. Big thumbs up! Bill B.
Jason she's a real beauty your training is complete your now a TRAIN MASTER LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR JOURNEY THE BACKGROUND SHOT WITH THE NEW ENGINE SPOT ON PERFECT
The Reading and Northern F9 is a beautiful train to add to your collection. Priceless. Your videos are always a Great way to start the morning. Thank you
Norfolk western visionline class a would look nice on your layout you won’t regret a Lionel steamer very smooth slow speed operation plus the sounds are incredible
Loved that intro lol. Congrats Jason she's a pretty one. It just so happens that I bought my first MTH today (Norfolk and Western Class J 611) so it's only fitting that you uploaded this awesome video of your first Lionel legacy.
Congratulations Jason! That locomotive suits you perfectly. I’m so glad Lionel didn’t hook you up with a lemon. Nice job with this video. Part of it had me laughing pretty hard.
That's one really impressive loco, Jason. The details stand out in wonderful relief and brightness. No wonder you're so satisfied! A great choice to add to your collection.
Beautiful set , welcome to Legacy . Theres so much to learn now lol . Time invested in learning all the features will be very rewarding especially setting the momentum and efx in the speed table . Enjoy the new adventure in Legacy
Definitely gotta get a Legacy steamer Jason those things are so much fun and you will never forget the first time running it the sounds the features are amazing
Jason, good luck with your new purchase. Very sharp looking set you have there. I picked up a set of Aberdeen Carolina and Western on pre order which is also a great looking engine and true to original color scheme. The problem I had was with the louvered squares just behind portholes, they started to seperate from whe body and actually fell into the shell. Lionel has the engine now for repair. Hope this is not a production defect but just holding the engine caused this problem. This was my first legacy purchase and could possibly be my last depending on how lionel customer service plays out.
Great video Jason. I really enjoyed your review. You mentioned what Lionel engine you should purchase next. To me it’s a no brainer. Since Norfolk Southern sold off their A-B-B-A units, and you purchased the first A-B units for the Reading and Northern, you need to pick up the other 2 A-B units for the Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railroad. You will then have the complete set of the original Norfolk and Western Railroad A-B-B-A units, but with new paint schemes. Long live the Norfolk and Western F9’s!!
Awesome set Jason. I have 2 legacy GP9 locomotives and I love them but like you I am a fan of MTH but there is no mistaking the quality and sounds of Lionel locomotives. Loved this video.
Guarantee your Legacy roster will grow immensely once you get used to the Legacy controls. So much nicer than others. You’ll love the momentum feature on the 990. Enjoy!! 👍
Welcome to the dark side or the light depending on your prospective. While I have lots of legacy steam, something I don’t like with Lionel diesels is there swinging pilots. If they had a fix pilot option I’d own a few
Very cool set; Lionel really took their time and did this right, including, adding in some custom tower com as opposed to the usual Mr. Lionel. Also, I just want to comment on the quality of the video production, the effort you put in should be recognized; transitions, music add in clips, etc. As a "content creator," I applaud the quality here. Great job all around.
I really appreciate your kind words. I've been putting a lot of effort into my editing lately and I'm glad it hasn't gone unnoticed. Looking forward to your next video!
Man Jason, when I read the title I was like “Oh man he actually did it!” Lol On a serious note though man great choice! Honestly before you even said anything I had completely guessed why you had gotten those and I know I don’t know your collection that well but knowing what I’ve seen here and there on different videos I’m like it’s gotta relate back to Norfolk southern somehow😁 Sure enough I was spot on! Congrats again man and looking forward to seeing what else you get in the future! You’ve gained a new subscriber🙂
Bought the same set a couple of weeks ago after watching your quick review..so thanks…love it…a few things i don’t like like their needs to be some contrast in the engineering cabin, instead of just plain white..love the super bass..be careful about pushing on the door too much, on mine to doesn’t close all the way again for some reason…might try to gingerly close it some how…now to wait for command base 3 Update 1/5 well had to return to lionel due to excessive fan noise and broken part..sigh.
Good job jason, I'm getting mine in the volume 2 catalog next year. Can't wait myself. It's fun to watch people open new trains. The first of many i hope. Good luck with the channel, and keep up the good work.
Jason, another great video about your newest piece and what it stands for! Since I am not a Michigan graduate, my condolences on the loss to Michigan and putting up with all the Michigan fans. 😉
Hi Jason. Your reading and northern F9 units are looking good on your layout. Have a very merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄 this year. I hope that Santa Claus brings you more trains for Christmas ⛄🎄.
Sweet like you brother I don't have many legacy engines actually only one being the cheap Camelback but I don't even have legacy to run it just Neil Young's old system, die hard MTH fan I have 20 engines with 3000 scale miles and no trouble
Way to go Jason ,l knew you had it in you ,l jump the fence Myself and decide to Go Lionel legacy and Visionline along with All My Mth Premier Locomotives As Well ,so don't feel bad just embrace it and let the Best Times Roll 😀 Happy Railroading 😊 😃
It occurs to me, I’ve never seen a video of your trains actually going through a turnout. Nice engines When the time is right, I will be adding Lionel engines… Just what I need..another avenue to spend money on trains😁 Do you have a master list of all your collection? How do you know what to buy when you’re in the isle at your LHS? Without my little book..I’d own multiple road number duplicates🤪 Always enjoy your videos … Entertaining.
Great Addition for your first Legacy. Even though the Reading and Northern is tied into NS at least you can tell everyone that it was not NS logo on the unit. Its really a great looking item and I hope you have lots of fun with it. Thanks for sharing.😊😊
Hello Jason going to my LHS inHouston I bought a couple Kato N scale P42 genesis engines on consignment they were brand new condition never ran they did not have the front and rear MU hose details the lens for the headlights and the number boards were not installed now I will be getting digitrax decoders to convert into DCC they were 60 dollars apiece for the two engines YEEESSSSS ;-)
RBP's reaction is priceless

Thanks! They did a great job
I also live in NE Pennsylvania, but when I saw those beautiful Aberdeen, Carolina & Western F9 units on line just today, I couldn't resist.
What's so neat, you have the NS set, the prototype was once NS. So you can set them side by side..
Sleep will be unsettled until you get the Aberdeen and Carolina F9 engines so the full consist is back together again. 😄
Its tempting!
Awesome! They look nice on your layout! I wish they offered fixed pilots on their F units. I love the way Legacy engines run.
Thanks, Norm. They certainly would look great on your layout with fixed pilots.
Those are one awesome set of engines! Lionel definately nailed them! They look jusg like the real thing! Even got the smoke stack right it appears! Thanks for sharing!
I love the intro with all of the other youtubers reactions, lol. 😂
It was a lot of fun to put together

Congratulations!
We know you will enjoy them.
A 'some day' on my wish list.
Thanks for sharing your video!
Beautiful pair of locomotives. I do love Lionel's bass units. I'd say Jason that you picked a great first Lionel Legacy locomotive. Awesome job on the video. I am so impressed with how you pulled all the different elements of the video together. Big thumbs up! Bill B.
Thank you so much Bill! I was so glad to have you participate in the video intro.
@@JDStucks Thank you, Jason. It was an absolute pleasure. Bill
Congrats JD 🎉🎉🎉, your first Lionel Legacy Locomotives are ones that run by my house all the time
Nice review! Technically, I’m sure it’s great to have a model of the successor’s of your Norfolk Southern Executive units!
Absolutely!
Jason she's a real beauty your training is complete your now a TRAIN MASTER LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR JOURNEY THE BACKGROUND SHOT WITH THE NEW ENGINE SPOT ON PERFECT

I love that store. I grew up in Sterling Heights, 15 mile & Mound. I moved to Texas now (2012).

Beautiful set , welcome to Legacy . Theres so much to learn now lol . Time invested in learning all the features will be very rewarding especially setting the momentum and efx in the speed table . Enjoy the new adventure in Legacy
Great video Jason and welcome to the dark side!!! Congratulations and can’t wait to see what the next locomotive is that you will buy
Thanks for showing you new train. I do not run Lionel because of only having MTH DCS. Thanks for the highlights.
“Now you guys can get off my back about Legacy”. Now we’re just gonna hound you until you get a Legacy steamer. Great video and great engine Jason!

Get the Chicago Great Western F unit set. One can never have too many F units and the CGW had tons of them!
Great video, as usual!!!!! You should do a side by side comparison of the MTH F9 NS OCS and your new Lionel F9s.
If I get ahold of some I will!
I ordered the Entire B&LE ore train set, now i know how it will sound, AWSOME!
