Bracketmeister I totally agree with you. The developers were so lazy with the cutscenes. They interacted like robots with dead eyes. When in the original, they had personalities and proper facial expressions.

What's happenin' with your eyes? Were you even there when the PS2 was out? Their's an enormous leap in graphics between the PS2 and PS4 then a PS1 to PS2, those are more identical, PS2 was low res at 480p at best, PS4 goes up to 1080p and can almost reach the look of an animated movie. 😅😅😅

In the same way Portal is a first person shooter. I mean, it IS, it's just handled like a puzzle game. In Portal, you have FPS-like perspective and level design, and puzzle gameplay elements. Something similar happens with R&C: you got TPS-like weapons and enemy behavior, and plaformer gameplay elements and level design. So, you could say they're hybrids, a mix of two (or more, counting some of the missions) videogame genres.
Visually looks great but the amount of in-game dialogue is overhwelming and the character animations look stiff. Also the soundtrack is boring generic orchestral instead of techy like the original, which is disappoiting. They could've atleast remixed the old tracks, had a very different feel.

The original soundtrack was definitely not forgettable, ask anyone who played the original or just look at the comments on them. And it's really not an excuse for music to be "competent" on a basic level for the various fundamentals. The original is inspired, distinctive, catchy and fits the narrative style of the game. The reboot's is generic, none of the tracks feel distinct and could probably be interchangable and feels like it was done out of necessity for something to fill the silence.
I am not a big fan of these type of single player games. At first i was hesitant and didnt even bother opening this game for like 2 weeks but soon i gave it a go and manh o man i was hooked onto it for hours, it was really addicting and gameplay style wise it is soooo similar to tomb raider(the one which is on PS4 as well). The world is very beautiful and the game is hillarious, especially the narrator.
+shadowaveness Because it is not exactly 1:1 with the first game. It takes the basic structure from that first game, mixes it up with elements from the other games in the series, and adds new stuff. For the new players of the series it will be a nice introduction to the R&C universe getting a taste what the rest of us have come to love. For those of us that have been with the series since the beginning it will still be both a nice throwback and a fresh experience.

I'm so glad they ditched Into the Nexus to work on a remake of the first game equipped with the most exaggerated lighting engine I've ever seen. This was obviously the best choice.
im dissappointed in the weapon design part of the game. Especially the Ryno designs. its been lacking for years for me, they dont impress anymore. ever since 2007, which is fcked up.
idk, some guns were too big, the size of ratchet, i get what your saying tho. im mainly talking about the shape of some guns, like the flamethrower, the barrel on it looks weird.
They are totally different styles of music. I find both soundtracks to be pretty good, not something to write home about though, but still pretty good. From a musical standpoint, they are pretty much on par. There really isn't anything objectivly better about any of them. One is just more badass, and the other more epic. It really comes down to personal preference, and you are of course entitled to your opinion. Not trying to take that away from you.

The difference between PS1 and PS2 graphics is massive but between PS2 and PS4 the jump doesn't seem that big for 2 systems that are 2 gens apart.
