      14. Hacking terminals, select a couple of words before you hunt for the brackets []. Use as many trials [*] as possible without getting locked out.
      The last trial should be used by clicking on the brackets [] to remove any words left, or to give you more trials (the trials are never used on brackets, only words).
      And check how many letters comes up, the bigger the number, the closer you are towards the right word.
      17. Craft Jet using Plastic and Fertilizer. Low weight and expensive, makes a lot of caps.
      Another tip, select you companion dialogue, point you aim at loot container and tell them to pick it up. On all companions (except Dogmeat) they don’t have an upper limit, and you can ‘load’ them with a city-sized loot bag of junk. It’s considered a bit of cheating as you’ll never get over encumbered.

    Here's a tip most people seem to not know. You can "steer" the vertibirds. It doesn't have to be a one-way trip from point A to B. Once you're airborne, simply open the map and select a new destination. The pilot will alter course.
    This is extremely useful in survival mode since you can't simply fast travel to a location to defend it. You can continue cycling through destination points to steer the aircraft and strafe ground-bound enemies with the minigun. Simply flying over a settlement which is being attacked (without even firing a shot) counts as showing up to defend the settlement for the purposes of keeping the settlers happy.
    If you're playing on survival, lots of locations have workbenches which will allow you to scrap weapons and armor instead of taking up valuable carry weight. You can strip the mod(s) you want and discard the individual piece. Alternately, sometimes you might want to take the lead lining out of a piece of armor to make it much lighter so you can carry it back to give to a settler or sell.
    Two pieces of "Acrobat's" legendary armor will negate all fall damage for you or a companion. I carry a basic leather & basic combat armor versions with the ultra-light mod applied so together they only weigh 0.6 pounds. These items are great for if you're exploring highway overpasses, tall buildings, and especially when building elevated structures in your settlements.
    Overseer's Guardian is good, but if you're going the sniper route, Old Reliable is even better. It is a two-shot lever-action rifle and only outperformed by a plasma or gauss rifle. Keeping it loaded will require semi-frequent stops in Far Harbor to buy shells. My advice is to stockpile as much as you can purchase each trip and leave it at Longfellow's Cabin. While you only get five shots before a reload is necessary, each shot hits like a truck.
    If you're lucky enough to find one, the two-shot western revolver is even more damaging than Old Reliable. Like Old Reliable, its a 19th century design, so you only get six extremely powerful shots before you need to reload.

      Steering the Virtibird - that's an awesome tip - thanks so much for sharing, I knew that you can divert the Aircraft but did not consider that fact that you can use this options as a means of flying over a location multiple times in the same ride - nice one.

    My *_TOP TIPS_* (especially _Survival Mode_ )--->
    --> _Codsworth_ is available as a companion without first needing to free *Preston.* Simply enter _Concord_ far enough that Preston and the Raiders start fighting, return to Sanctuary, and he can be hired. Taking him along to free *Preston* can give some _affinity boosts._ _Codsworth_ will give you a Purified Water on a continual basis just by talking with him, making him a solid companion for _Survival Players._
    --> *_Need Caps?_* Stop at nearby *Abernathy Farm,* under the Power Pylon. Grab the 9 Melons, then speak with the daughter _Lucy._ Keep picking the top dialogue choice about caps as currency. This will trigger an Easy speech check, and she will offer to buy Melons for 5 caps instead of 3. She can buy every Melon you have, _on an ongoing basis,_ which can be lucrative if you turn Sanctuary into a Melon farm. However, if you make the Farm a settlement, she *stops* buying them.
    --> *_Survival Players,_* besides planting *Tato,* *Mutfruit* and *Corn* for _Adhesive,_ plant *Razorgrain.* Cook *1 Razorgrain /1 Dirty Water* to make rad-free _Noodle Cups._ They lower thirst one level, hunger half a level, _yet weighs the same as Water!_ Check wandering vendor _Trashcan Carla_ and _Trudy at Drumlin Diner,_ South of Concord. Or find randomly as loot.
    --> *_Weapon and Armor modifications_* can be _stripped and swapped_ onto your better gear. You can _remove armor mods_ for free, but you will have to _build a new gun mod_ from components. Even without Gun Nut, you can build the base level gun mod, which will put the previously attached modification into your inventory, and put onto your new hotness.
    --> _Survival Players_ should build *15 more water supply than they have settlers,* minimum. This will _accumulate_ extra water from the Workshop *every day,* so take it out store it separately in another container. New Purified Water will be added every day *_if_* there’s little to no water already in the workshop. If you build a large enough water purification operation, a huge amount can get added daily. Use this for your travels, or stockpile, and sell the surplus.
    --> _Survival Mode_ features *Diseases,* acquired numerous ways. You can take *Antibiotics,* visit a *Doctor,* or *Wait* until they go away eventually. Each disease has _different durations,_ lasting from *2-7 days.* The most debilitating are _Weakness_ (receive +20% damage), and _Infection_ (take damage over time, though it won’t kill you, will leave you with a sliver of health). These two diseases take *2.5 days* to go away. Find something safe to do, like decorating Sanctuary, or sleep it off. Sleeping causes a _disease check,_ so you might get sick again, but anything is better than Weakness or Infection. *Early game,* when resources are tight, you might be better off saving Antibiotics just in case for the debilitating diseases, and living with the others until they go away.
    -->Want to play _Survival Mode,_ but aren’t sure what starting SPECIAL to use? I’ve found it’s worth going for strong combat skills first, and then flesh out your build.
    *Melee Builds,* get _Rooted_ (STR9) and _Blitz_ (AGI9) immediately. *9,1,4,3,1,9,1* _(Book END)._
    *VATS Guns,* get _Penetrator_ (PER9) and _Concentrated Fire_ (PER10). *1,9,3,3,3,7,2* _(Book AGI)._ You’ll get the *Perception Bobblehead* when you free Preston, so have a point saved, and put into Concentrated Fire mid-rescue.
    --> _Survival Mode_ players should seriously consider _not_ using Power Armor. _Swimming_ is Survival’s Fast Travel. You’ll get around much faster and safer. *_Aquaboy/girl perk_* will save you a ton of time! Without spoiling, the game gives you a quick means of crossing the map as you do the main story, if you dabble with the *Brotherhood of Steel.*
    --> _New Players:_ *Idiot Savant* isn’t a good choice for first timers. Enemies scale with you. You need to have good gear to survive, and easy and fast XP can leave you without enough time to explore and find good gear before the bad guys start hitting even harder. *You’ll get plenty of levels, faster than you think, even at 1 INT.* Growing powerful isn’t only a matter of levels. *You’ll be stronger if you have great gear when you pop your next level.* Take it easy, don’t rush, go slow, and you’ll be better for it.
    --> _Pass every speech check_ with *11 CHR,* 100%! Low CHR builds, don’t fret: assemble a 3-piece _CHR set of clothes._ *Hat/glasses/suit,* for _+4._ Most *Alcohol* adds _+1._ Find *Daytripper* _+3._ Better yet, craft *Grape Mentats* at a Chemistry Station _+5._ There’s other ways, but with these, that’s a +13 buff already.
    *Bonus!* Your companion will come to your side and stay there if you crouch. And if *Dogmeat* only carries _25_ units, put a *bandana,* *welding goggles* or *dog armor,* and it’ll bump it up to _150!_

    Here's a tip I'm not sure everyone knows. We all know there are some pieces of gear that we can't mod or scrap at a work bench such as road leathers, sack hoods and others. Well, if you are at one of your settlements, you can scrap some of them. All you have to do while there is drop the item(s) you want to scrap and then go into settlement build mode. Now you can scrap the item(s) you drop that you normally couldn't.
    While this doesn't work on every item in game, it does work on most. It's also an easy way to brake down gear and weapons at places you don't have work benches at yet early in the game.

    A comment on Charisma! Unless you're going for some of the perks deeper in the tree, I recommend just getting three ranks in C. When you need to pass a speech challenge, or want to get better prices, you can use cloting items and certain chems to raise your C temporarily. Takes a bit of planning ahead, but frees up some perk points.

    • @TrappedInFallout
      @TrappedInFallout  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's actually a very good point and worth exploring a little. Just like weapon- you carry multiple weapons for multiple reasons, I do exactly the same thing with armor so it's worth having a set around for Charisma and Bater reasons. Thanks for sharing, much appreciated.

    • @ronnierayburn998
      @ronnierayburn998 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@magilviamax8346 Obviously, you have to know that it's coming, but... Whenever you visit certain locations for the first time, it's safe to assume that there will be some speechchecks and some opportunities to barter. You don't have to be a veteran to realize that!
      If you're in a dialogue, and a speechcheck appears, and you really wanna pass it... Simply turn away from the npc you're talking to, and once the dialogue options disappear, you can open your inventory and do what needs to be done. After that, you simply turn your attention back to the npc, and you will be able to pass the challenge. No need for saves.
      I'm not saying that you "have to" do it the way I suggested. I'm just saying that if you know it's coming, then why not plan ahead a bit, and spend the perk points elsewhere.
      As for the immersion, I'd say that a change of attire could be called for whenever you visit civilization, so to speak. Citizens around you might get offended or scared if you enter the marketplace wearing your blood soaked armor.
      Your game, your choice!

    I always thought of Spray and Pray to be more of an early game weapon as some legendary drops found later in the game from enemies outclass it like, say, an explosive shotgun or minigun or DLC weapons like the Kiloton Rifle from Far Harbor. I suppose Spray and Pray can be made to be good late game, but early game it's seriously OP.

    • @ronnierayburn998
      @ronnierayburn998 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As you say, S&P is OP early in the game, but it starts to drop off rapidly around lvl 40. The Kiloton, on the other hand, has a higher base damage and a deeper upgrade path. Fully upgraded, with the relevant perks, the Kiloton deals 2,5 times the damage of the S&P. Tried and tested!

    • @TrappedInFallout
      @TrappedInFallout  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I totally agree - with the right perks and amor kits to boost, the Spray and Pray can potentially help you play the entire game without having to switch out to any other weapons. I have done entire playthroughs with the single weapon (but also keeping another weapon as back-up if I run out of ammo). It's a solid weapon and can be OP really early on with the right build behind it.

    • @ronnierayburn998
      @ronnierayburn998 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TrappedInFallout I think you missed the point. I think the S&P is one of the most overrated weapons in the game, and you'd be MUCH better off using the Kiloton instead. Your comment about "running out of ammo" should give you a clue. Sure, you can still kill enemies, even high level enemies, if you shoot enough bullets. But, you can do that with a Pipe pistol too, and I can't say that I've ever heard anyone being satisfied with the damage output on one of those.
      Out of curiosity... You mentioned doing an entire playthrough with it. Which level did you reach? I'm curious as the enemies get much stronger once you pass lvl 60.

    Many players look down on Aqua boy/girl. I fell in love with it years ago. Especially when walking back to my home base while over encumbered.
