- Hey guys! So...this isn't my typical video but I wanted to try my hand at some sort of 'Ten Things Blah Blah Blah' video! Mario Odyssey is a huge game with loads of possibilities, so there's often little details you may have missed along the way! Perhaps you know all of these, maybe they're all new to you, either way...hope you enjoy and let me know...

Hey folks.
This it the first 'Top 10' style video I've done (I don't count the 10 Impossible Jumps video as that was just ten random jumps using the same technique for each) and wondered what you all thought. Should I do more of these? Were the details too common knowledge or were there genuine surprises? Feedback is greatly appreciated!

I knew about half of these, since no one cares enough to read I'll just mention them anyway.
1. I think I learned this from another video.
2. During "research" I discovered this, and I was like, "cool".
4. This happens with multiple bushes.
6. I got bored, so I decided walk slowly to Goombette as a Goomba, and I walked by a Jaxi sign and went, "lol".
7. I don't think I knew about this, but I did know that the same goes for Luigi's balloons.
9. I knew you could pull the regional coins out, but not the moon.
10. WHO PAYS ATTENTION TO THAT?! Seriously, whoever figured that out has hawk vision.

I like these videos. Even if I know a lot of them, it's still nice to see and there are generally some I never knew or might have discovered on my own like Knucklotec's sound. The reflection one I have noticed in several reflective objects like the water droplets. The globe one is awesome! Loved the music in this vid too.
Also I had not tried that jump you did in this video in New Donk City. That was a nice little extra.

See, I always avoid these "things you didn't know" videos because I always know everything in them from simply watching the game's reveal trailer. But this actually had interesting content. Great job.
Thanks, man. I was tentative about making a '10 Things You Didn't Know...' video since others have done similar things...but I definitely was careful about what I wanted to show. There's a lot of easter eggs in the game I could have covered, but I wanted to showcase actual details and subtle mechanics that could easily have been missed had you not been looking for them. I might do a second part but we'll see.
Yeah, pretty much all of these other than Fearsome's are "HEY THERE'S A HIDDEN ASSIST MODE IN THE OPTIONS" or "DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN SKIP CUTSCENES!?!?!?!?" :p

Cool I didn't know the UFOs were mini torkdrift but I've seen them before in moon kingdom!
There's a UFO on the left side (your right) of the Church. It gives you a moon when you hit it with Cappy!

Yep, that's the one I've already seen I moon kingdom and collected, but I didn't know they were in mushroom or darker! Usually those "power moon birds" are actual birds

I knew very few of these, so this video really shocked me!
I have found something out myself: after you have bought the Shiverian nesting dolls, they will be on the top right half of the Odyssey, and if you jump repeatedly on the biggest one, they will jump inside of each other and back out! Finding this out and watching this video really showed me how much thought the developers really put into the game.

1:57 anyone realize the top of Knuckleotec’s head is in the desert, while the bottom is in the deepest underground. That means there is a big gap in the middle of his head (deeper underground)
Oh wow so that’s where that hole came from when you visit the kingdom later (after boss fight) and it takes you right to arena! Pretty cool detail
7:34 that was actually the way I found that power moon. I got extremely stumped after getting a pin from hint toad that I decided to use lakitu to see what would happen, until afterwards I realized all you had to do was ground pound 🤦♂️

The Sand Kindom lakitu can also find Captain Toad from the sand

The UFOs always drove me crazy. I know that the one in Moon Kingdom, behind the wedding hall, gives you a power moon if you hit it. Just like the flying birds.
I like it when it says “might have missed”, interests me.

These things are like tests of my knowledge of the game lol. Let's see... knew 1, 2, 3 with 4, there are actually more locations like this, like in Metro pre-peace he's there in a plant by the city hall entrance, I assume there are even more of these, but I think I've only seen a couple of them. Knew 5, and a bonus thing with that is that it's possible to break the RC car inside via clipping cappy in, in 2P and I believe the same dialogue pops up again. Knew 6, didn't actually know 7, nice detail. Knew 8, of course I knew 9, I have a vid of it on my twitter (though didn't those coins were there, neat!) and didn't know 10. Knew 8/10 Which I guess means even I learnt a couple of things lol

For breaking the RC car, I was playing and thought, "I want to break it." And threw my hat at it. That stopped it, but then I ground pounded. Then I was shocked. So, I knew that existed. But thanks for other tips that I didn't know.

I have a theory. What if that small UFO (which is related another other boss fight), wants to be in contact with the birds, helping them with his evil plans. The UFO knows he can't rule the world by himself. So, he has to use birds, and those birds will get other birds that will get other birds, to help the UFO kill Mario, his friends, and rule the world. Only because, Mario destroyed his father. Mario, Peach, Cappy, etc, have to save the world from the infamous UFO. They have to travel around the world, even planets, to find the UFO's plans. The UFO will mutate the birds into TERROR BIRDS!! EVIL SPIRITS WILL EMERGE IN THEM!! FEAR IS WHAT THEY FEED ON!!
The UFO will mutate itself too, being stronger than anyone alive. Now Bowser, being forced to be on the good side, with Mario and Peach, and destroy the evil darkness. Then, there will be a cliffhanger. Scroll down of you want the cliffhanger
Bowser double crosses Mario and his friends, leaving a powerful dark side. Leaving Mario having to mutate himself to save his friends and the world. He will sacrifice his whole self....... no more spoilers for the new game (if happening. Lol.)

Apart from Cat Mario, there’s also Cat Peach, Luigi (ground pound a certain spot in a kingdom to reveal him) and Captain Toad.
2D Luigi is the only one that's even really secret at all. Captain Toad is not even close to being a small detail, he's a pretty famous power moon
Super Mario Odyssey is based all around using your hat, yet you see Mario without a hat the most in this game.

For the one with the mini flower boss dude, in mushroom kingdom, they have birds from every kingdom. The flower boss was the wooded one.
These are really interesting, and except for the one about reflections, all of these were new to me, even the globe jingle! Good job on finding all of these.

I saw the Torkdrift detail on the UFO's first time I came across one. These are just so fun to see.
The 'catchy jingle' is jump up super star (festival) in music box form without the song. It's just the music box version of the music

3:52 If you capture the New Donker again, the RC car respawns! It was very nice to see because I found the hidden dialogue by accident and felt really bad for the guy. He just wanted to have some fun

Oh my... I found a very hidden deatail in the moon kingdom: If Mario is wearing a regular outfit (original outfit, wedding outfit, etc...) then he is trembling in the shadow of the toad shop! If you step out of the shadow Mario will stop trembling! Try that out please :)

That "misterious UFO" you mention, it is simply the bird of the moon region xD. In every region of the game, there are different types of birds, and the mushroom kingdom have all of them flying through the zone. That UFO is simply the moon bird, nothing more, no secrets xDD

For the ground pounding on knockloc, it would be cool if you had to get all the necessary moons, and then ground pound him 3 times to immediately go into the fight.

I have a small detail. The WAY mario's hand goes up when he jumps depends on the camra angle
I got another, in all the kingdom where you have binoculars and can see the sun, if you capture one and look right into the sun, cappy will say- “Don’t look right into the sun! You will hurt you eyes!” But no matter how long you look at it nothing ever happens

Nathan Heath Cool, and I hope you make a part two. Cappy’s got some other dialogue randomly in the game, but I don’t think it’s as interesting. Another one (and I’m not sure how well known this is) is that there is pixel art of Rosalina on the Dark Side on a vegetable and on the back of the tower on the Darker Side. Also I didn’t know about the Jaxi signs, that made me laugh.
P.S. something interesting, one of the clerks at Crazy Cap in Metro Kingdom sounds like he’s saying “I just want to die”

The funny thing is, the jingle the globe plays when you bounce on it is actually the final jingle in Darker Side, where Cappy talks about how happy he has been to go on this journey with you, but now it should end? It is actually really sad. 😢
