I am about to present my doctoral work and felt slightly overawed until I found this simple approach to the complex terminology! As good as your book. Thank you
This is a great video, thanks! The opening tune reminds me SO much of the opening of James Burke's The Day the Universe Changed series, which is a delightful memory.
Thanks for your kind comment; I'm glad the video was useful. I shared your feedback with the person who wrote the tune - they weren't aware of the series and went off to look it up.
This is the 5th video I'm watching on the 'ologies' and the 1st time I actually understood what it's about Never really thought of how my world views and values would affect my research..Thank you so much!
Thank you for this. What would you say a positivist perspective on issues such as climate change is in terms of ontology , epistemology and methodology? I know very well the definitions of these terms but how would I Know their perspective in “the real world “ if that makes sense . Thanks !
A positivist ontology would suggest that climate change phenomena are independent of people and could be studied through observation and measurement such as by using technology. However, positivism has been discredited now that we understand how interlinked such phenomena are with human behaviour.
I’ve watched a thousand videos and read a million articles on this and I finally understood after watching this video. Thank you so so much.
Great to hear, Mira!
Helen, an excellent explanation! I have shared your video link with my master's students, who tend to find these terms somewhat daunting! Thank you!
Sandra, thank you for your kind words. I am so glad this video is helpful for you and your students.
loved this video, thank you very much! (you're way better than my teacher)
