Hey, how do you get your pigment to blend? I am using mica powder and there are still small dots of pigment even after i blend. Ive used a mortar and pestle and a seasoning grinder
@@gabbynailedme997 try mixing in a little bit of your acrylic powder after you grind your powders, so add the acrylic to the colours and grind again see if that work's, add too your pot and shake good x hopefully that helps. X
Ive never mixed my own colours before, I always thought if you mixed the pigments with white, that they'd be very pale, like would red, turn pink etc, so I'm so glad you did this. I must get round to trying to mix my own now ❤ x
I done this with the full bloom collection. But only made a tiny bit at a time. I might buy 2 pigments of the ones I want for acrylic and pots and make them up x

Oh goodness! These are beautiful colors- even the one you didn’t intend to make is gorgeous! I’ve been a custom cake maker for many years, unfortunately I have MS, which is making it harder to keep up with the physical demands so I’m hoping to get into nail tech school soon. I happen to have edible powdered pigments from my caking that I’m getting all kinds of ideas about now! Now if I could figure out more ways to combine the two I’d be a super happy camper! 😁 Too bad there isn’t a non toxic acrylic or gel that could be flavored since many of my friends are nail biters! 😂😂 Thank you for sharing this. It is extremely rare that I find someone with similar experiences as myself but when I read your comment, it literally was if I wrote it myself and I had to check the screen name. 🤣🤣🤣 I have MS too and was a pastry chef and have recently as of the last couple years, been getting into nails. I make my own using pastel chalk and clear acrylic. I add while acrylic if I want to lighten the color. Yours came out really dark with white acrylic. Must be the pigment. It’s very pretty.
Anytime I try to do this every time I go to pick up a bead it falls back into the mixture or sometimes I can't even pick it up and I know that my brushes into wet it's like something's making it to heavy any suggestions?
Cjp does a nice navy blue that's really similar to yours.the cjp opium noir is extremely dark nearly black almost. But if you want a beautiful shimmer one sapphire is stunning from cjp. I bought pearlescent pigments from Ali express and they are amazing, bought the cat eye pigments too.just for anyone who doesn't have a lot of money Ali express is good and cheap just read the info and comments first. Wait so if I bought an acrylic kit, it contains something called carving powder. If I were to mix white pigment with the carving powder, it would make my own color of working acrylic?
can you use any type of powdered pigment since i have my favorites from being a watercolor person? I am gonna try liquid dyes in the monomer. plus i have steam and cold powdered dye pigments as well cuz i dye fabric. Gee, this all sounds like fun!!!!!
You can grind down chalk pastels, pearl ex powders, and regular chalk to use as pigment.

How do you make it consistent my clear always shows and makes imy acrylic patchy

I use a mortar n pesto to mix mine that way I know for sure there's no chunks n clumps of pigment 😉

Cindy Cicirello hiya hun. You mix with white to make it opaque. If you mix with clear it’s still a bit see through. Hope that helps

Im not entirely sure hun but I’d stick to cosmetic type pigments like eye shadows etc. Xxxx
