That was a fantastic video🙏I’ve done the surgery 6 months ago.. I was really getting confused of whether to drink or not .. but I’m really thoughtful now😅
thank you! this is a fantastic video; I am 5 days away from my gastric sleeve surgery! I feel this is a sign to do this surgery cause honestly I was scared before watching this video and I saw lots of videos related to this subject and this is the only video that affected me in a good way! again thank you so much ! may God bless you
I would like to add something.. my daddy has the bypass 10+ year's ago. The pros he came off like 22 medications after he left the hospital. Including his insulin.. but from my experience to see what alcohol has done to my dad in long term effects y'all it's not worth it to drink.. my dad's esophagus stopped working he's had multiple surgeries not little one's either.. my opinion is the alcohol and smoking even though it's not a constant thing he was doing it was on and off over the year's. Caused his health to go downhill. A year ago Thanksgiving weekend my dad had 7 stroke's it's only by the grace of God we still have him. He's been on a feeding tube before that because his esophagus stopped working. He's had his esophagus dialated multiple times and going to have it done again very soon. As a recovering alcoholic myself and an ex smoker plus I'm being considered for one of these surgeries to save my life. I personally will not smoke or drink. I quit smoking almost a year ago in February I used chantix and it took me about 8 months to stop fully and that's with having my husband still smoking around me. I have no urges to smoke. As far as alcohol the Last time I tried drinking it jacked up my blood sugar so high I was sick for several days 😭. I'm being considered for this surgery because I'm 45 Year's old. I have type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, sleep apnea, and lymphedema in my legs. I have a back injury from a terrible fall and bad knee's mostly from working and I just didn't take good care of myself when I was younger. I was always thinking about my family being a provider. I have maintained my current weight between 300lbs-325lbs 5'6" and shrinking lol. depends on fluids retention 🤦🏼♀️🥺. Due to family history I got screwed genetically 🤣 I have even randomly just gained weight for no reason. Oh and I'm going through menopause 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤣🤣 stuff I cannot make up.. I have fatty liver disease my belly stays swollen we even think my spleen could be swollen.. so I do feel like this surgery could help me live longer. 🙏🙏🙏 Hope this comment can help someone thank you for these videos BTW. I do have a question/suggestion and it's about nutrition.. so I have been making smoothies with higher nutrition and chia, flax, hemp seeds plus moringa powder please look up this wonderful tree aka the drumstick tree... And I'm wondering if these smoothies the way I make them will be a great option to keep my nutrition up after surgery??
Sorry to hear about your dad! I’m glad you’ve decided not to go down the same path and are looking into weight loss surgery to help your overall health! Losing weight will definitely help a lot of the issues you’re having! The smoothies sound like an excellent idea! The biggest thing is to make sure they don’t have too much sugar (extra calories and can cause “dumping syndrome” if you get the RNY bypass). You can always add some flavorless protein powder in them and make a good meal replacement shake for breakfast or even for a snack!
@@bypassblake3010 I have been using moringa powder and flax seeds, Chia and hemp meal mixed up. Then there's another one is a mixture of veggies and fruit with some seeds flax and chia. I don't have them in front of me at the moment but I will add it up. I recently added yogart it's a Greek yogurt I could probably live off these 🤣
I like to go have a few craft beers about once or twice every couple of months. I’m having the bypass in January, and I’ll definitely refrain from drinking until at least 6 months, possibly longer, but I would like to have a couple of beers every now and then at some point after the surgery.
Hey, where you able to drink beer after your surgery? I’m a big craft beer drinker myself and sacred I’ll never be able to drink beer due to the carbonations.
@@Shotbydanni Yes, I had two 16oz craft beers about two weeks ago, and I didn’t have any trouble at all. The carbonation might not agree with everyone, but it doesn’t bother me. My doctor even cleared me to drink diet soda if I want, but I’m staying away from artificial sweeteners. The carbonation won’t stretch your stomach. That’s just a myth that was started to make sure people stop drinking soda, as many overweight people are addicted to it.
He there, with having a smaller stomach, are you physically able to drink much? Not just alcohol but water included, could you drink 2 pints within an hour still?
I’m having sleeve July 21 and your videos really have helped me feel good and more confident in this process. Hope to see more of you
Omg today’s surgery day , good luck Ted , proud of you even though I don’t know you , one step to a better future

I really like your videos
Not a good idea, it's extremely common to have a transfer addiction to alcohol I know from experience.
Thankyou for your video! I was very cautious so have decided to just do heroin no excess calories and better dopamine release 😂 jokes
