The Crown Vic is a derivative of the old LTD which was in production from 1965-92. In 1982 Ford added the “Crown Victoria” nomenclature to the Panther LTD because they’d come out with a Fox-body based smaller sedan they also called the LTD. So to differentiate them the large one was formally named the “LTD Crown Victoria” and the smaller one just “LTD”. They’d quite making the Fox-based LTD by 1989 and when they redesigned the Panther sedan they dropped the LTD name all together.

Well I never, the only thing my old lead sled needed was a manual transmission to take away the slack. Also a supercharger, a fucking big one.

Manual transmission was a factory option? Or was a reconversion?
