    I am a retired soldier who enlisted during President Clinton's term and retired during President Obama's term. I only met President Bush out of the 3, but I was stationed at the UNCSB-JSA right after 9-11 and I could see the genuine concern and care he had for us soldiers. ASK ALMOST ANY actual wounded soldier as myself when he came to see You, the hurt in his eyes was unmistakable. Was he perfect, no. But, I honestly believe everything he did was for the best of this country. I gladly did 39 months total in Iraq and I know we needed to be there.

      I appreciate your desire to serve, but Iraq was an unjustified war that killed hu dreds of thousands of people unnecessarily and instigated more anti us sentiment while wasting trillions of dollars. Bush might care about soldiers on a personal level but he still send far too many of you to your deaths for no reason, he's a scumbag war criminal who deserves prison not accolades.
      And no, we most certainly should NOT have been in Iraq, we have NO MORAL RIGHT to invade countries that don't attack us and aren't a viable threat to do so. Your tours did nothing but waste taxpayer money killing innocent people

    All of my respect given to a very underrated president and his wonderful wife. I am proud to have grown up in his government. I may have been born in Clinton's time, but the first president I remember being in power when I was alive was Mr. Bush. I remember hearing all of the hate and believing some of it with my very impressionable mind, but now I know better. Mrs. Bush was one of the best first ladies we Americans could ask for. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Bush. I greatly appreciate your service to our wonderful nation. I hope to be able to repay you for your great leadership, someday.

      BGerbs66 Yep. I was born at the beginning of January 2000 so I've only seen two presidents. I remember the bullhorn speech after 9/11 and I saw that bullhorn yesterday as well as a piece of steel from the World Trade Center. No one could have handled 9/11 like Bush did. I remember seeing Bush here in ABQ in 2004. Course I didn't pay attention to what he was saying, but I clearly remember his face. He did a lot of good things during his presidency and he deserves way more credit than what people give him.

    He dealt with a moment in History shared by such a rare group.
    Only FDR, had the same experience, and he showed just how human he was. Those who were alive during 9-11, will recall the devastating effect this head upon our country.
    Also recall how this man had the highest people's approval of any president.
    Only his Dad and FDR came close.
    He did what he thought best for our country.
    Even after he left office, he would go to Airports and welcome home the brave men and women who sereved our country!
    Can anyone remember a President or former President who did that?

In there, they explain multiple times how innocent civilians were targeted. There are videos of obviously civilian places being destroyed by our armed forces with most likely innocent civilians inside. Not everyone in the military is like this but many of them are which is very unfortunate. The real war heroes are the ones that are speaking out about what is truly going on.

    • @BasedDad35
      @BasedDad35 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Michael Self No you missed my point and then you gave an extremely generalized broad statement. The vast majority of the left does not want to have a honest and open debate. Do you even watch the news? 98% of the media is left wing and most of the time there is no opposing view so the people at home can hear both sides.
      Obviously anyone over the age of 12 knows one should be respectful when trying to have a discussion but it's extremely hard to be respectful when lies and slander are thrown at you from the get go. You both sound extremely gullible and I'm hoping you two are simply being naive and politically correct just because you want to give the illusion you are "fair" and "respectfu."
      I am not trying to be a dick but you guys are extremely our of touch with reality. By the way there is Fox news which is center right and then every other major station is left wing. The reason Mitt Romney and McCain lost is because they were way too nice and refused to take the gloves off. Did you watch Obama and Biden in the debates? Both of them took the gloves off and threw every lie and BS story at Romney/Ryan McCain/Palin that they could. In a perfect fantasyland everyone would be respectful and actually talk about the truth but sadly we do not live in that world. Also, I'm not sure if you know exactly what this event is but it's basically a photo op and all the people involved are extremely fake and pretend to like eachother.
      The media clapping for President Bush and Laura are the same media who said George Bush hates black people and called him Hitler.
      I am a practicing attorney and I have worked on a few political campaigns over the last few years and I learned a very valuable lesson. The media controls the narrative because the majority of Americans are low information voters who get most of their information from the daily show or other disgusting propaganda outlets like MSNBC or the Young Turks.

      @BasedDad35 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Michael Self Listen, I understand what you are saying and I fully comprehend Josh's statement but I'm telling you that you both live in fantasyland. Romney and McCain were two of the most respectful and stand up men this country could offer and look what they got them?
      The lies and disgusting bullshit that was spread about Romney should prove to you the majority of the media is not respectful nor do they give a damn about civility.

    When Obama took office we were losing 80,000 jobs a month. It took a few months for Obama's policies to kick in watered down as they were by the GOP who WANT the economy to crash so they can get back in power. Since Obama's policies took effect we've have month after month of job gains. The Wall Street Journal says that without the gov't workers being laid off we'd be at 7.1% unemployment now. But 40% of that stimulus was in tax cuts and a large majority of the $5B was actually BUSH spending

    I always feel the whole Bush families are not only very patriotic and loyal to our country America’s principles for greatness, also I feel that they have their President styles which mostly handled very appropriate for present events to deal with urgently, also looked into the past experiences in a humble ways with a deep thoughtful preparation for the future America’s greatness altogether. Yet, dealt with a unique thoughtful nature with their own generosity of forgiveness nature for learning experiences through mistakes from principles as President leveled courtesy and generosity nature. I guess the top leadership as President’s position, they may think much deeper than we ordinary Americans that simple by our own simple minds of excitement as either happiness or madness only. They may think more about country’s unity as one nation under America’s principles, greatness and unity altogether by learning experiences from mistakes, if too many Americans are confused or neglected the principles by less learning facts. This typed conflict by confusions still belong to internal conflict within American peoples. President Bush certainly understood the consequences of others’ mistakes. One time learning experiences as chance giving reminders to lure all together to look into our country America’s principles as learning more to understand more and do better things are never less important. Actually the former President Reagan and President Bush 41 are all great Presidents of unique President style. They have their principles of America’s patriotism and loyalty toward America’s greatness. They also have their President style of recognition of America’s principles to govern that accompanied with their great characters of sincerity and enthusiasm to influence, support and help other younger or young more energetic leaders with less governing experiences ones to learn from mistakes by learning experiences to understand more and do better things by their generosity nature as efforts naturally. I guess the former President Bush 43’s sincerity, kindness, generosity nature by his decency and down to earth kind nature has come from his father President Bush 41’s nature and his great accumulated governing leadership experiences. The former 1st Lady Laura Bush has been always great. Her gracious nature shows her elegant appearance accompanied her own decisive understanding the importance of the principles by aware of clearly but also with her own generosity and kindness to allow others to learn from the principles and results to understand more and do better things. I love to listen to her soft spoken nature and gentle smiles. I wish we will be able to unite together again by our country America’s principles of freedoms and equality of the opportunities by our generosity of forgiveness nature, govern by laws then after and always. Support each other and build our country America’s greatness together. If one side willingly to change better from mistakes, the other side willing forgive by chance giving to them, move onwards and govern by principles afterward, America’s greatness will be quickly achieved soon or later. I guess.

    Well, for starters, the Federal Reserve is not a conventional bank like a commercial bank or investment bank. You cannot go open an account at the Federal Reserve. Second, the Federal Reserve does not actually print any money. All US paper currency is created by the Bureau of Engraving & Printing, and coins come from the US Mint, both of which are part of the US Department of the Treasury. The Federal Reserve itself is also subject to congressional oversight. Perhaps you should learn the facts.

    Life expectancy at birth in the USA, 78.49, is 50th in the world, below most developed nations and some developing nations. The U.S. Census reported that 49.9 million residents were uninsured in 2010. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the United States spent more on health care per capita ($7,146), and more on health care as percentage of its GDP (15.2%), than any other nation in 2008. Harvard estimated that 44,800 excess deaths occurred annually due to lack of health insurance .

    The point isn't stupid, the notion that cutting taxes costs money is. I never said you make more money by cutting your income, I simply stated that it is not a loss. In fact when it comes to macro economics and tax rates, it is quite the opposite. When you lower tax rates, to a degree anyways, the government actually takes in more money than it would at the higher tax rate because finding tax loopholes saves less money for every dollar invested, so people are less likely to do it.

    Basically, in order to be prosecuted (and hence be a 'war criminal' commander), prosecutors have to (1) prove a war crime happened and (2) show the commander knew of it and (3) did nothing to stop it or even encouraged it. If one of those 3 elements are missing, the prosecution has no case against the commander. In your case, you don't have any of the three. (Well, there is Abu Grah that was reported for 8 weeks on cable news, but the way it was handled pretty much exonerates President Bush.)

I always appreciate the former 1st Lady Laura Bush’s graciousness, curtsy and manner which accompanied with any of her speeches. It is not easy for us ordinary American peoples to do. I have said many times that I disagreed with the man, but I could always consider him a good person. I know it is not appropriate (the alcohol), but his is a personality that I could sit down and have a beer with. Laura Bush made her speech with some style, class and humbleness. That tells me she is a strong lady too. The word "lady" is often misused, but not here. While I supported the Obamas and disagreed with the Bushes, it was not on a personal level.
    Sadly, that is not the case now. When in the last few days the only presidential uniting, calming and unifying words come from GW Bush and Obama, you have to see that the US is in trouble and leaderless.

    No, I am saying cutting income does not cost the government money. Spending costs the government money. And I know what I am talking about because I left my job back in 2009 and I'm still here. If I work 60 hours a week in my business and make a certain amount of money, and then I decide to scale down to 40 hours a week it would reduce my revenue (like a tax cut), but I don't lose any money by doing so. I don't have as much money to spend, but I did not lose any. I still make a profit.
