  • Watch Lorenz Meier, co-founder of Auterion and creator of Pixhawk and PX4, introducing Skynode in our live product launch webinar on May 5th 2020. Skynode is the fastest way to power drones with the software, payloads and workflow integrations that enterprise customers demand. By connecting you to the Auterion platform, Skynode dramatically reduces the time and cost of designing, integrating and maintaining your own hardware and software, so you can focus on developing an excellent product.
    Due to the lockdown caused by the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, Lorenz presented Skynode in a virtual product launch live event streamed to 400 live participants. He was joined by guest speaker and launch partner Matt Vacanti, senior digital product manager from GE Aviation.

    A nice (and important) step forward. The new mission planning software looks great and includes great features, but the 3D functionalities seem limited to me. As far as I know, the area around the Irchel Uni campus has more topographic variation, than shown on the example screenshots. As such, it looks to me as if the flight path is shown in 3D, the underlying topography, however, is not shown accurately (if at all). Could you comment on this?

      Yes. I was also wandering the same. It seems the flight path is only 3d but the terrain looks flat.

    Hello Lorenz; I watched most of video but it's not geared toward my Recreational Flying. Yes I utilize a Pixhawk 4 Flight Controller but I don't run a Business, Company or Enterprise. I do hope that you'll continue to support the Pixhawk project and good luck on your new endeavor....! =)

    Will the skynode core board reference design be open-source like px4.

    • @Auterion
      @Auterion  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reference design will be available for high volume manufacturers to build their own version of Skynode.

    You mentioned Auterion is geared towards software. How can one integrate this with custom hardware without using Auterion hardware?

    These are great.
    But, will you continue to support open source px4 community? The functions like gimbal controls with digital joysticks for example, should also be implemented on the open source things (px4 and qgroundcontrol).

      Auterion will continue to support the PX4 community. In 2019, more than half of the contributions were contributed by Auterion: auterion.com/auterion-leads-contributions-to-px4-the-largest-open-source-commercial-drone-ecosystem/

    Nice. Will you make products for the hobbyist or are you just focusing on Enterprise users? Do you want to sell to the few or the many? If you want to sell to the many you will need to make it affordable.

    Hey! When you mention fully integrated with Sony cameras, how integrated are you talking? As integrated as DJI camera sensors?
    I can switch on/off, trigger, record/stop all this now. What are the extra features over these?

      Apart from the camera controls you mentioned, you can also move the gimbal, store pictures in the image gallery on the ground station and have a live video feed to the ground station. The live feed can even be watched from a remote ground station connected over LTE.

    I wholeheartedly disagree it'll become a "requirement" to have internet connectivity on all, or even most, drones in the future. Many mission sets even prohibit connectivity.
