    Excellent stuff. Been listening to him since January, 1963, and still found things new and engaging in your documentary. Thanks.

    What a gem to find! And it has only 16k views, it should have much more! What an aesthetic video and nice editing, thank you for this pleasure!

    I was greatly influenced by Bob's first and second album when my brilliant 13:year old friend introduced me to his music. We were each 13 and smoked pot to Bob's music. It was all pretty amazing. I've been more than a fan since then.

    Not just folk music, ALL popular music would never be the same.

      I would argue that folk music hardly changed at all,, but all popular music certainly changed forever.

      @@GD-me2lv I think that Gordon Lightfoot and Joni Mitchell, and so many others would disagree. Though I see your point.

    Bob Dylan has inspired me to pick up my acoustic guitar and set out to the world to share my dreams. Hopefully I one day inspire other kids in my same position to follow their gut too.

    The way that I refer to this album to many people is its “operatic" nature. It is irrelevant that it is composed of mostly 'covers'. The breadth and depth of the performances are so amazing. The two songs that he wrote for the album are so telling--one can already detect a great future for this upstart. Most of the songs deal with death. To think that it only sold 5,000 copies following its release attests to the fact that he was way in front of his times. One cannot say that it is lacking anything. I listen to the album now as much as I ever did. It is incredible that most of the 'folk' songs on this collection emanated from black performers. It is a tour de force in every regard.

    Mr. Hilhorst. It would be so enlightening if you continued along the lines of this video to present chronologically all of Dylan’s albums as what you have accomplished is an extraordinary documentary feat unrivaled anywhere else. The knack that you have for selecting and editing the narrative is highly impressive. Do you have plans to extend your contribution to at least include Dylan’s albums released during the 1960s?

    • @davidhilhorst
      @davidhilhorst  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your kind comment, I really appreciate it! I would love to continue making videos about other 1960s Dylan albums. Who knows, hopefully I’ll find the time this year to do so!

    Quite expensive to see Dylan in concert in 1961, two dollars is equivalent to about seventeen dollars today. He hadn’t even released a record at that time......
