I am so thankful for upcoming gem split update. Because I had mistake rushing my 3x rank 7 sapphire to rank 8. I lost like 400+ armor pen for ranking it to rank 8. 3x rank 7 gems is 400+ higher than rank 8 gem. In that case, that update is good for someone having same situation as i have.
True story for every normal gem rank. If you are wearing 3 of same rank you need to have 4th same rank in the stash before upgrading just to keep current stats.

But on other hand if one is not ready to spend literally tens of thousands dollars to gain a thick wallet advantage it doesn't much matter. It's like with resonance atm - there are clusters of 2-3k and 7-9k reso can't compete so lover claster going to have 3k each secondary stat against 4.5k each. It still won't matter much in pve and they still won't be able to compete in pve. It was my humble dolphin point of view.
Another problem with composite gems is all the builds are the same no room for variation beside having 1 or 2 yellow and blue ring. No more playing with armor/armor pen, of potency/resistance

LOL! After 2 years of announcing "Battleground balance changes" and consistently failing to make it fair for the F2P players vs the losers who spend 20k on a fking video game.... I'm not holding my breath. I mean seriously.... 2 years? 😂

I think they should bring composite gems in. It broke my heart when they said they were going too but didn't.

No issues with gem splitting, however it scales either armor pen and armor into single stat. It means no room for any adjustment.
