Loved this movie when I rented it from Blockbuster in 2004! Just finished “Vampires Vs. The Bronx” on Netflix and knew the main character’s mother looked familiar. Shot out to Judy Marte! The whole movie took me back to this era; “Everyday People” and “This Revolution” also remind me of that time; never got to see “Washington Heights”. While it’s very different, I always associate “Raising Victor Vargas” with “City of God”, due to the era, Afro-Latin culture, and coming-of-age stories. Miss this kind of energy.
