    @17:30 Great insight, "strange love child between pocket operator, and the OPZ". Very useful point about how the pattern resolution can be multiple resolutions overlaid, for the different components of a single pattern...I did not know that (only day 2 for me) and it is handy to understand that. (Video with a name including "Tutorial", mission accomplished, I guess lol.). AND thanks for the Fragments Song insight, I was not getting that until now.

    Nice video and nice track, my dude. I completely agree on many of your points. On paper it can seem pretty limited, but when you understand how everything ties together, particularly with respect to fragments, it becomes immensely powerful.
    I created a song a couple months back using maybe 7 tracks across 5 patterns, and I think it was composed of only a handful of fragments, but yet it sounded lovely. And those synth engines are excellent!

      Thanks! The Woovebox is a lot of fun, certainly takes some time to learn it all but it’s really fun once you get the hang of it!

    Fantastic video! My main question is - outside of their website's tutorials, what is your best advice for someone new to the Woovebox? I ordered one yesterday night and am very excited. That said, my experience is limited to Maschine by Native Instruments and even then, I never really grasped how to take full advantage of the hardware/software. The learning curve felt a little too overwhelming with other responsibilities on the go, so I only ever did pretty basic things. My thinking is that something portable will be more suitable since Maschine these days is just another thing that requires me being at a desk - which isn't practical.

      If you haven’t signed up to be notified when they are in stock, sign up. It’s the best way to get one. I received my email, ordered, and it shipped the same day.

    Great vid mate. I've collect synths and this is prob next. 2 newbie questions, can you create your own patches and save them? And can you have multi instruments on each step? That's something that bud me on the POs cheers

    • @GarHoover
      @GarHoover  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! Yes you can save patches and they are saved under the different categories such as Bass, Lead, Chord, Kick, etc! And you can have multiple instruments trigger on the same step!

    Thanks for this, much appreciated. It's got a good level of detail for those us learning too. So far the most irksome feature is the capacitive switches for write and play quite awkward to operate. Press play. And press again and again. Did you find that too? I've recorded two songs now. I found I rapidly ran out of patterns on this th-cam.com/video/T489XsrqNsg/w-d-xo.html
    but then I guess Bach wasn't really the natural use-case for the instrument. Also, the idea of variable speeds per track within a pattern is quite a mental shift after working with Pocket Operators.

    Is there no cases for the woovebox they seem to be really complex for what they are full of features I might get one iv got a few samplers and groove boxs synths ect but always looking for new bits of gear for good prices I'd like to see a full sized version kinda like the new ko2 in a more protective case it seems like it's got more stuff in it them the novation circuit rhythm and tracks combined

      It comes in a great travel case, and it actually has an enclosure (unlike the POs). I don't think anybody makes a case or sleeve to keep on while playing. If they did, they'd have to account for the capacitive play/write buttons
