FINALLY! Drew Pearson was poetry in motion and is a true legend. I had such a crush on him that when I met him at the Pro Bowl in 1974 I couldn't speak, lol.
This was dam near 30 years overdue . I seen him play back in the day . What Jerry Rice , Terrell Owens , & Randy Moss was to the game now , Drew Pearson was that in his era although they played with a more balanced attack so the ball didn't get in the receivers hands as much as it does now . His numbers were better than Lynn Swan's but Lynn was in the HOF years ago and Drew wasn't . He played his ass off every game I've seen him play and he was a class act on and off the field . Congrats Drew this is well deserved but waaaaay overdue .
Swann only played 9 seasons. Stop hating on him. I'm glad that Drew finally got in and yes, it was far too long and Cliff Branch (R.I.P) should be there also but they were not better than Lynn Swann. From 1975 to 1978, Swann was considered the best receiver in the NFL. No one ever said that about Branch, who in his first couple of seasons "couldn't catch a cold" in the words of his own teammate, Phil Villipiano. Branch was a game changer with his speed and big play ability but he wasn't in the class of Swann or Pearson.
@@UncleClaudeSportsandThangs I'm not hating on Lynn , I was just stating the obvious . Their numbers were nearly identical . Lynn's circus catches in the Super Bowl and a few other big games made him stand out above the other guys .
