@@FunnySunset-hd8mt A black panther is actually either a Leopard or Jaguar with excessive black pigments. If you look closely, you'll still be able to see the dots on their skin under the black.
You must differentiate between the black leopard and the black jaguar, so people will know which one they are seeing. Too many people believe that "Black Panther" is a species unto itself. The people of Central and South America call their melanistic jaguars Panthera Negro (black panther) and African people will call their melanistic leopards "black panthers", as will those in Asia with their various leopard subspecies from Amur to Indian, Indonesian, and Javan. So to use the term out of geographical context doesn't tell most people what they are looking at.

@@SamBeera A leopard is shown here. These look like photos I've seen of Indian Leopards. There could be other leopard subspecies.
