Black Employee Network. You're right man Amazon has become even more political especially these past recent years. Even safety has become a bit overwhelming as far as the amount of audits/task given to managers. I'm big on safety, but it's getting to a point where we are all almost now completely responsible for the things that could possibly happen. Amazon is on a new mission to become the safest place to work which requires a load of added responsibility for others outside of safety. It takes away from the initial task such as Customer experience, Employee experience, quality and performance and not to mention the projects to improve our processes. It's a damn lot, but if you prioritize it's possible. Where's the $$$ tho is my question.
Shout to to BEN and all the groups, and yes it does seem like it has gotten more political in recent years from my experience, and amazon is a huge company so It all comes with it I guess they have a lot on their plate. And where is the money lol I feel you, lets continue to elevate fam!

That's one of the things that has me holding off trying to climb that ladder, its doable to maneuver I've done it plenty of times but just not atmosphere I would want to navigate at the moment.

I think they should keep that idea with the groups, but do it more productively. For example, have a language learners group, PA practice group,...you know, groups where everyone can use their minds instead of their views.

Depends on how deep you want to go with the topic. Companies themselves aren't necessarily political, but more so that social climate and regional climate shapes the culture of some companies more than others. For an Amazon, they don't necessarily really care about the politics per say as a collective, but if it makes you stay longer or if it attracts employees then companies will lean into those policies. It's problematic however at least in my opinion, when it starts to entrench on hiring practices that a company will make, and when that culture within the company starts to shape the company towards more extremists views, whether your on the right or left side, and yes believe it or not there are companies that do exists on both sides of those extremes that are operating at a really high scale.
The stuff your talking about though is more of a tech culture thing. Not sure why, but people feel really comfortable in slack spaces sharing unusually high amounts of personal information that I personally would stray away from speaking about. There's also a weird sense from "influencers" in the tech space that will treat employment as a way to meet new friends at the workplace, and lack the perspective of keeping things separated.
Idk, not necessarily against having a culture at a company, some of them are done really well while others are done poorly. Good Culture stuff as an example would be something like Nutrition Solutions, where they actually pay employees extra if their employees come to their workout days, which is all optional stuff.
Lol I kept it in shallow waters and with amazon they have gotten more political than before brining up things taking place in the world in the workplace stand up etc. and yes the workers for sure put their opinions etc. out there but the stuff I'm talking about it actually coming from the company. And culture in a company is cool never spoke on that, just things like politics taking place in the community being brought up in the workplace.
I find the people who feel this way are not a good fit for the corporate workplace . Many companies are pushing tolerance and inclusion in the workplace. One it’s a smart business strategy because it mitigates lawsuits , encourages inclusion. As far as infinity groups go it’s also a good idea to network. Btw you can join any group even if you are not part of the group. It’s called networking, people have been doing this for years . Country clubs are an infinity group but we don’t have access to it .
I find the people who think the way you spoke are not a good fit for success in life in general, Its not about how you "feel" or "feelings" its about how you operate, I know a nice amount a people who "feel" an extreme way about politics in the work place but leaders aren't led by their "feelings". And completely understand the networking, the point of the video was politics, appreciate your opinion.

I agree I think its because the company is so huge its seen way more often than with a smaller company but I've seen it at just about every company I've worked in.
We now have too many easily triggered Karens blabbing politics at work.
Crazy thing is I've seen it come from all types of people and ages, but I stay out the way who needs even more stress working at amazon.
