Thank you! You're literally the first person who gave real solutions for this. For some reason, the Viva Insights popped up sometimes when I didn't need it, but when I did, it never showed up.
Couple comments: Microsoft Viva Schedule Send doesn't come up (as an option) until you have entered email recipients and have text in the body of the email. Also, unlike Outlook Web Schedule Send, Microsoft Viva scheduled emails sit in the SENT folder and what I really HATE about Viva, which you did NOT mention, is that the timestamp of the email remains unchanged. Meaning that if you wrote the email at 2AM on Friday to your boss and schedule send with Viva for Monday morning, your boss WILL learn that you wrote the email at 2AM last Friday. Your boss will know that you schedule sent it. Option #2 is the best option because the scheduled email remains in the Drafts folder and Outlook Web does not add a timestamp of when you wrote the email when it eventually goes out
And even if i do all that (enter recipient and input text), Viva Schedule Send sometimes just won't come up, so i find it to be rather unstable and unreliable. In other words, it works when and only when it wants to, which can often be a bore. I don't know if you've experienced the same.
Switched desktop verison to New Outlook and the Schedule Send is available, love it! I think my co worker figured this out, he sends out a mass email at exactly 6:30am every Monday.
Thank you. The New Outlook Desktop client has Schedule Send that actually works when outlook is not active. But sometimes sends the first created message, Edits are not saved. Finally some improvement. Old Outlook Desktop client Delay Delivery sometimes worked when Accounts > Cached data is unchecked and it was not reliable.
didn't know about the "schedule send" being exclusive to the web version of outlook. I use desktop most frequently and though the extra steps for the "delay delivery" were also pretty silly. I wonder why schedule send isn't on the native Outlook desktop app! thanks for a great video, Chris.
Hi Chris, great clear & concise presentation. I am not good with e-mails at all. I do have a question for you, which I hope you find interesting. I received two emails spaced approximately on week apart, both dated in June 2023. The problem is I received them both on Sept 11, 2023. Is this possible ??, To send drafted e-mails drafted in June 2023, & send them 3 months later in Sept.2023, but maintain the original draft dates of June 2023, when you send them in Sept.2023. Thank you very much & I am very curious if this is possible to do, & I hope you do find this question interesting. Vince Marinaro
Has the scheduled send come out on the new outlook? I have switched and I have a send button but no arrow to schedule delivery so I am assuming it it not out but maybe it has I am missing a setting. Thanks for your help. This video was excellent.
Viva Insights' "Schedule Send" only seems to pop up when I draft a new e-mail after 5 PM. I want to use Viva Insights' "Schedule Send" during ALL hours. Short of being able to use this tool during normal work hours, I'm going to use the "Schedule Send" feature. Absolutely garbage how difficult Microsoft makes this. Do ppl who work on Outlook not care about consumers? At some point, you got to push back against your managers whose incompetence makes using their products more difficult.
Also, read my comment about the timestamp. Viva will put the email with the original timestamp of when you wrote it on the email itself and add the email to the SENT folder (creepy)
Great info, but why i dont have the down arrow next to the send on my email? I can only set emails to go out at a different date and time with my computer close when i'm replying to an email, Thanks for your help!
You can schedule send with Outlook on the web. It is coming to Outlook desktop, but may be a year or two. That is one of the reasons I run both Outlook desktop and web during the day.
I was able to Viva Insight one time. After that I can't access the calendar to schedule in Viva again. It only gives me options to set up quiet time and such. Did I do something wrong? Wuld love to use this to streamline quote follow up.
Hi Chris, I am trying to find how can i send chasing emails with the help of Outlook Rules, is that possible please? Just to make subject more clear. I want automated chasing emails to be sent 2 weeks after I send original email. Your help will be much appreciated!
Tried Delay Delivery once by following an advice from a different video, it just didn't work for me, I can only assume it was due to my PC had a restart? Anyways, now I tried Schedule Send from the webversion, works way better. I don't get why such a simple feature can't be added to desktop version or why can't they tinker Delay Delivery to work the same, such a simple task shouldn't cause so much anxiety and dread over a clunky software feature :/
I would like to send bulk mails, but Is there any option for sending individual mails with specific time gaps. it means every mail has to take 2-3 minutes time.
Hey Chris! Great Video, thank you so much. I had a question and I am hoping you can help. When you schedule to send, how are you able to see that your message was sent? Last night I scheduled a message to be sent at 8am this morning so I checked this today to see if went through and it was not in my outbox. I am now not sure if the person received the message . Please help! Lol I can’t seem to find any answers online about this lol
Outlook itself will not do this, but there is an app called Boomerang that works with Outlook that will do this. I'm not recommending Boomerang, but it will do and other third-party apps will also.
Hey Chris, thank you - this was very informative. Is there a way to figure out when the email I receive was actually sent if it was sent through delay mail or not?
Current Outlook desktop is create a new message, click Options, Click Delay Delivery. New Outlook Desktop, which hasn't officially come out yet, but I have it, is shown in this screenshot. drive.google.com/file/d/1qSezgJtIg9hvseKZKQ4OrD5EAi3AJTvt/view?usp=drivesdk

Thank you.
Thanks, Chris. Always insightful information !
You, sir are a life saver! I couldn’t figure out how to sent out an email automatically without logging in! Thank you!
Chris, your description of DELAY SEND is the reason why I have not attempted delay send again. I am going to try the SCHEDULE SEND on the web.
I use Schedule Send every day.
Well-presented information! Easy to follow and apply. Thank you
You're very welcome!
Thanks @Chris. I enjoyed your video, and indeed, it helped schedule an important email for Monday, as I am traveling next week. Have a great weekend.
Thank you! It is a great feature I use daily. Safe travels!

@@pedroterra6991 I agree. And how do you cancel the Viva Scheduled Send email?
Thank you so much for this video. This really helped me in planning some tasks.

Schedule Send will be in the NEW Outlook desktop version.
Thank you very much Mr. Menard for this high quality content. 👍🏻 I will definitely try Schedule send with Viva Insight.

Very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you, I picked the second method.

Thank you. Helped me!

Hi Chris is there a cap on the number of schedule send emails at a particular time?

nice, wish it had a recurring feature.

Does schedule option work even your system/email is shutdown? and timing is like after a week to send

I'm unable to see that option @ 5:18
Chris, the video! does scheduled send work with a Outlook on the Web that uses a gmail account? Thanks, Jane
Yes. The Schedule Send is part of Outlook. It doesn't matter if you are sending an email to an Outlook users, Gmail user, Yahoo user, etc. It works.
Hey Chris!

Schedule Send will show how up in *Drafts* in Outlook on the web. After sending, it will go to your Sent folder. Great question.
Hey Chris - Can you do a recurring delayed email ? Sending weekly reminders to teams?
Outlook itself will not do this, but there is an app called Boomerang that works with Outlook that will do this. I'm not recommending Boomerang, but it will do and other third-party apps will also.
Hey Chris, thank you - this was very informative. Is there a way to figure out when the email I receive was actually sent if it was sent through delay mail or not?
How can you set up an automatic delay delivery in NEW OUTLOOK?
Current Outlook desktop is create a new message, click Options, Click Delay Delivery. New Outlook Desktop, which hasn't officially come out yet, but I have it, is shown in this screenshot. drive.google.com/file/d/1qSezgJtIg9hvseKZKQ4OrD5EAi3AJTvt/view?usp=drivesdk
Sometimes the schedule send dont pop up on my outlook even though it says viva insights is on someone help please
I've noticed that also. It isn't just you.
Can you schedule a "reply". It's really annoying to have to send a new message to somebody who I already have an email chain with
Shame you cannot schedule forwarding of emails , have to always select new email and copy and paste the previous email.
Thank you.
Welcome.
My emails when schedule later saved to drafts instead
Thanks
wonderful !!
That helped
Why does delay delivery even exist? Pisses me off
if you mess something up you still have chance to fix it before it's sent without requesting email back
Garbage.....are they trying to make Outlook worse?
