I really like the list; adding some more to it: - battery bank (Anker has a really great one) - thunderbolt 3/4 cable for MacBook - USB rechargeable flashlight - Samsung T7 Touch (needs fingerprint to unlock)
i made a travel router using a pi + RaspAp, then had it route all traffic back home via Tailscale so i get PiHole ad blocking as well. i also set it up as a subnet router mainly for my cheap security IP cam that i can setup while in an Airbnb, so that my Survelliance Station at home can connect to it so i don't have to rely on the webcam manufacturers cloud feature (which i also blocked on the Pihole)
Hello, could you provide guidance on accessing a Syncthing remote server via Tailscale? Additionally, would you be able to create a video tutorial on this topic? Thank you.
What if the exit node device crashes or freezes or fail in any way?? Is there a exit node fallback/failover feature?? I couldn’t find anything about it.
I don’t believe there are plans but if you had a travel router and ran all the traffic from the fire stick through that you’d achieve most of the same effect. - Alex
I have a couple of GL.iNet GL-AR750S (Slate) travel routers from an old project I’ve considered trying to repurpose with Tailscale. I’m not sure if I can just install it with the OpenWRT CLI and expect things to work well, or if I should consider upgrading to a newer model that has more official (currently beta) support from GL.iNet. Any thoughts?
I believe the luci UI underneath is your friend here but seeing as mine is still in a hotel in Florida (or the trash) I can’t test it out for you. Let us know how you do! - Alex
While I'm guessing I can install Tailscale, configuring the firewall and routing could be a little tricky, making the router less flexible for other uses. And I'd probably never be able to update the firmware without blowing away my changes. I'm leaning towards going the more official route to avoid problems.
@@Tailscaleplease share a video tutorial on how to do that on these GL.inet travel router. This combo is very cool and so useful for many situations and SHTF situ. pi5 + Beryl ax + tailscale combo on the go anyone ?

Great video! This is pretty much what I signed up for Tailscale to do!
Glad it was helpful!
This is the use case of why I am going to use tailscale.
Thanks for sharing, a really practical video. 👍

Got to know about you after you partnered with Mullvad.
Keep up the good work!
I Love Tailscale ❤

My dog hates the chirp in the title card of the Tailscale videos
Yea I'd also pack my Tailscale merch.
Ohh, it doesn't exist, yet 😔

GL.iNET routers currently don't support 'Exit Node' option with Tailscale, what is obviously a shame.
i have tailscale in my synology nas in home, and when i'm overseas some gov website won't open, dose tailscale solvit?
super!perfect trave,later-😌

Is tailscale going to be available for Fire TV Stick, that will be really helpful…

You mean using as an exit node, I'll keep that in mind thanks.@@Tailscale
Can the Apple TV be used as an exit node while it is also a client of another exit node?
The two are mutually exclusive assuming I understand your question correctly.

@@Tailscale thanks. I guess I’ll continue with my plan of installing Pi’s around the world on my family and friends houses :)
Google’s the definition of salubrious…
