    Still wonder why they say “self igniting “ as it’s really not. You have to light it 😂
    Good video

      I kind of know what you mean but I disagree. It is self-igniting in the sense that you do not need to use an external ignition source such as a match or lighter. It is self-igniting using a built-in piezoelectric spark.

    Thank you, Michael. Your explanation is clear and more than the manual can tell me. I'll subscribe you.

    Thanks for the example for filling the butane port. You might check the manufacturers PDF online which shows not to use the Premium butane presented in your video. Evidently that is not refined enough and will eventually clog the jets on the torch. They recommend 3X though 14X butane instead.

      I was not aware of that so thanks for pointing that out. OTOH I've not had any issues using the butane that I've been using and it's been 5 years.

      I was going to say the exact same thing. And, good luck finding 3X+ locally. I ended up ordering a box of four cans of 300mL of 11X on Amazon.

    How do you put on the other tip? The standard tip can just drop on but cant figure out how the other tips go on?

      Cheryl Krasucki I explain how you put tips on at 4:39

    Hi Michael, am I to hold on to the "Inition" at all times while using this for soldering? Thank you.

      If you want to keep the flame going you would then lock it on using the lock function as I demonstrate at 2:31

    Can you tell me please, what is the diameter of the flame pipe? If I purchased on I would like to add an attachment that needs a diameter of 22mm.

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      14.26mm or 15.5mm when the flame guard is in place.

  • @luisgomez385
    @luisgomez385 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Quick question I was given this exact same torch but the flame is so small even when moved to max. What would be the problem?

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you certain you filled the butane tank properly? If there is a lack of pressure, that could explain the lack of flame.

    • @luisgomez385
      @luisgomez385 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelerbreviews Yeah I double checked. The pressure is what I'm thinking as well. I'm just going to leave it alone for a bit before I do anything to it.

      Take your can of butane and and just like when you fill it up just put a shot of butane where the flame comes out, it will clear out anything gummed up in it.

    Do you know if the pen version of this same brand will do metal on metal soldering, or just this particular one.

    What would you want to use the heat shrink tip for versus the deflector tip for ?

    • @adama1294
      @adama1294 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bigger heat shrink.

  • @normanklein3155

    What is the purpose of the deflector tip? What application is it designed for?

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 'deflector' allows shrinking insulation tubes on electrical wires after done with soldering

    If you use a water sponge, you will destroy over time the soldering tips.

    This tool is identical to the dremel one

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not seen the Dremel torch but it is not uncommon for the same product to be sold under different brand names.

  • @leilahankinson4498
    @leilahankinson4498 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I totally disagree, the case is very nice and even padded. you don't get more than with others. but the pamphlet IS however, sparse

      AND....the stand is better than other!!! not such a great review for my little awesome torch. I really recommend this torch for light duty jewelry soldering

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The case is cheap plastic and the locking tabs will eventually break. The stand is ridiculous. It has a small amount of mass compared to the top-heavy torch enabling the the torch to fall over quite easily if it is bumped or the table you are working on gets bumped. The torch itself is fine.

  • @bobjohnson48

      So sorry you are disappointed. This was a quick review of the torch kit and a brief discussion of its operation.
