- I mirrored the video in an attempt to circumvent the Content ID system (needless to say it didn't work).
In this episode Matt Allwright investigates Indesign limited of Barnet, a kitchen design company, who supply ill fitting kitchens which often aren't even the right colour, leaving many out of pocket.
Plus a bit of Jona Lewie!

I tore out and refitted my new kitchen myself! I'll never do it again though, respect to the skilled people who do it professionally because I tore out a lot of hair. But it looks fantastic! £700! Watching you make these maggots squirm is so satisfying, great clip!
It's hard work. I installed kitchens and bathrooms for a living and theres so much to think about that the average customer doesn't even consider. Even down to measuring properly, which you'd be surprised how many people mess that up

watchdog is informative but i wish they would also provide us with trust worthy suppliers, electricians e.t.c because anyone can easily be duped. They should also state what it is to look out for, I mean alot of us cannot afford a proper interior designer.

Miss this program
It takes 6-8 weeks to get a full kitchen ready. Nothing ever comes all at once and there is usually a few items that need to be reordered either they are damaged, missing on delivery or wrong sizes. Just go with reputable high street retailers they will always put things right.
Imagine laying your hands on one of these weasels, you'd be behind bars the same night, yet they remain free to roam the land continuing to destroy people home lives.

My family owns a kitchen manufacturing business, but we make our own cabinets AND traditional doors from scratch, we also provide fitters and deliver our furniture built, with doors already hung and wireworks fitted (as opposed to dumped on a pallet).
If you were that way inclined, you could set up a kitchen business from your front room these days, as you can buy cheap pre built cabinets (made in China), vinyl doors from one of 30 manufacturers and get it all delivered straight to the customer. You just need a cheap CAD system and off you go.
Do we make mistakes? Your damn right we do, but we go straight to site and sort it out. I guess thats why we're still trading 35 years later with 15 members of staff and all of our new business comes from recommendations and referrals.
Just be careful when buying a kitchen, remember the old saying "you buy cheap, you buy twice"... It's definitely true in the case of anything to do with home improvements!
Oh and also buy local! Give us small guys a chance instead of going straight to the big boys!

Why would you pay upfront? You only ever pay AFTER the work is complete.
They're paying for the actual kitchen, sink, cabinets and stuff. Then they get their own installer.
if that was all they were paying for then how do the people doing the ordering earn any money? part of it is their profit. you dont give them that until the order is done right, and you dont give them the money for the things they are ordering until they give you a list of everything and you can check it's not completely wrong. otherwise someone is paying for crap you dont need with your money.

you said they are paying for the kitchen, like thats why they "have" to pay upfront, because they are paying for a product. like if you bought something from a website you'd have to pay for it before they send it. but you dont pay for something 2 months before they send it, and you dont pay for someones services until they have shown they have provided the service to an acceptable standard. so in this case, their profit they take for buying the bits of wood for someone else, they shouldn't be paid that until they have done the job.
@@ge2719 that's the way it works. It's a design a build service. If you didn't pay, they wouldn't make the kitchen. Most companies that do it are very good and don't rip people off.

I like Rogue Traders, at least they make the public aware of the scumbag traders in this country, and they sometimes get the money back for the customers. Shame that nothing ever seems to get done about sorting out the laws to make these b'stards pay for their crimes. Personally i think some of these crooks need a visit from the boys, if you know what i mean!

To be absolutely fair, if the delivery driver wasn't insured for carrying the units upstairs, and he slipped and hurt himself, not only would he have to take time off sick ( Probably unpaid ), he wouldn't be entitled to any compensation , so I can see his point. There is something off about these shows... why did one of the production team hand the presenter a couple pieces of paper that he then placed on the guys dashboard as he left without saying a word, and the guy picked them up and moved them without saying a word... he was obviously expecting some paperwork from the show before arriving, so it wasnt a suprise...? hmm super wierd.
