- Howdy,
So I am very excited to announce that I have more reviews on the way! Fujifilm have kindly sent me the newly released GFX 100s II and the GF 500mm f/5.6 (and the GF 55mm f/1.7) to use for the next couple of week on my wildlife and landscape adventure. I hope you enjoy this little discussion and I will hopefully be able to bring you some reviews in the near future!

Thank you and it has been fantastic so far 🙂🙂
You're always a fun watch Victoria! So curious to see how you make out with the GFX system!
Thank you Trent! It is always a privilege to see your name on here buddy! I am loving it so far, I have a lot of feedback on it that I am collecting for the reviews which I think will be a very interesting discussion. Keep rocking it 🙂✌🏻⭐️😎
I can see some stunning photos in your future Victoria, hope you have a lovely time and capture some great images as usual.

Love your videos my favorite gal ❤❤❤ congratulations 🍾🎈🎊🎉
Thank you so much lovely lady! ☺️♥️⭐️🌲🐻
tried this combo out at the foto fair in the Netherlands, the AF is so fast and accurate (for a medium format) I can see people doing sports photography with this as wel, it definitely has the capabilities
Good for you.Cant wait to see what you get with the new system. The reason I have the XH2S and the 150-600mm and the 200mm f2 was for the reach for wildlife. So going to that huge sensor is giving less reach, just under 400mm with that new 500mm. If I was a landscape photographer, for instance that would be amazing CAMERA, I would be all over that. But I'm not sure I want to go less power, as my 600 is giving me 900 mm, it would be a hard pill to swallow to go back to 400 mm. But will be interesting to see what you do with it. Lets hope they make it for the X series.
Thank you! And yes it’s been interesting testing it out so far, the great thing is you can crop in because of the high resolution which is fantastic! And I guess it depends on the wildlife and your style. I do agree with you though, you get such a fantastic reach with the X series, which I still use and love - that is my camera set up (although, not the 200mm). The 500mm has done well so far with the wildlife shots and reach and there is definitely a lot of good feedback to give for the reviews and different perspectives which I’ll talk about - like this conversation here 🙂
@@wildandfreevictoria Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I agree you should be able to crop in pretty good with that camera. It's going to have amazing clarity. I will be watching for your next video, thanks. Keep up the great work. You are fun to watch, love your laugh.
What a nice monster🤯, waiting for the results.
It was amazing! Lots if stuff on the way 🙂
@@wildandfreevictoria waiting for it!
Great fujifilm equipment. Can’t wait to see the results. You are a great advert for fujifilm 👍
Thanks so much! Maybe one day they will make me an ambassador 😀✌🏻
Wonderful Victoria All your videos are so interesting and entertaining Thankyou I have an XT-4 and love it but it’s always nice to dream about more expensive and refined gear Anyhow Thankyou for making these videos and I’m so pleased you have been honoured with this stunning gear for 2 weeks Just rewards 😊👏
Cheers
Steve - from Australia
Thank you for your lovely words and te XT4 is a beautiful camera. My first camera was the XT3 and it still holds a place in my heart - i still own it 🙂 yes it is nice to try out equipment I know that I wouldn’t be able to own myself so I will make the most of it for sure. And hello to Australia 🙂✌🏻
@@wildandfreevictoria Thankyou so much Victoria for taking the time to reply so thoughtfully 😊
This is a lovely little channel but I suspect it won't be little for long!
Aw thank you this is lovely! ☺️
Thank you, looking forward to your experience with the GFX system. I always dance around it, but every time I have it in my hands, it feels too heavy compared to my XH Cameras.😏
I’m eager to see the images you create with the GFX 100s II!
Thank you! Well so far I am super happy with how it is going 🙂🙂
I’d like to see how it performs with macro style shoots, it could be something!
I have the GFX 50SII and it is a fantastic camera. The only complaint I have is the menu system is not very intuitive but once I got it set up for me I love the images even the RAW images are great right out of the camera and I find processing them is quicker than the images from my Canon system. Would love to get my hands on that 500mm lens.
Cool you got to try out the new gear. I think it’s not for me with the heavy pricey lenses. Looking gorgeous as normal.
11 days and still no video about this fantastic gear and lenses 😇😇😇 Hope youre ok and can not wait for new videos!
Aw thanks! 11 days is not enough to test it fully. I have been abroad testing it all and on holiday - but hopefully have a video out soon 🙂✌🏻
Jammy Git! So looking forward to the photos & review.
Haha I don’t get to keep it (i wish) but it is great to use it! 🙂🙂
@@wildandfreevictoria Reminds me, while we've got you, any chance of a Victoria photo workflow tutorial? Please :-D
What you mean a photo workflow? Like how I manage the photos once I get them onto my laptop or you mean the editing side of things? 🙂
@wildandfreevictoria the editing side of things please 🙏
I'm so looking forward to these videos. There's always a temptations to go GFX, but the expense is always off putting. Since you shoot the things I like to shoot, I'm very curious to get your feedback on the GFX lenses. Thanks! :)
Thank you for this! Well I have been testing it thoroughly so far and I do have a lot of feedback to give already. It’s been interesting and different to use already, the image quality is just fantastic but there are also other elements to consider as well. Hopefully I will have a review up in the next month (just got to finish testing it first) 🙂
@@wildandfreevictoria You're Amazing! :) Thank you for what you do!
Victoria, I absolutely love your videos! Have been following for a few weeks now :)
Just like you, I am always shooting with my dog, do you have any tips or advice for travelling with your dog? Would love a video about it!
Aw thank you for this lovely message! And thank you for watching my videos! Yes my dog comes with me everywhere (mostly) and it’s lovely your dog does as well - they are part of the team! I would happily share some advice/tips, what were you looking on tips for? And that is a great idea for a video!
Awesome! I would think you would get a hang of the camera itself fairly quickly. The step from APSC to the bigger sensor kind of interesting, because the depth of field is more pronounced. At f/1.7 you get just a tiny sliver of focus, which could definitely benefit your sometimes dreamy style of shooting. Anyway, I'm definitely looking forward to the results. Wildlife with the 500mm will be amazing, I hope the autofocus is fast enough! 😀
Awesome!!!!
Thank you! 🙂
What great kit. Looks big though. Hope you have a great time in Slovenia and remember the bear necessity is to get some great shots, 😳 that I know you will. 😂 Still loving your channel, well done Victoria.
This is so exciting for you, you do realise that you’re never going back. 😂
Hahaha I will have to, I can’t afford to keep it 😭😭
@@wildandfreevictoria You get stunning results with the equipment that you have to be fair, so that won't be so bad as you save your pennies up.😂
Weightlifting course before your trip perhaps!😊
Haha yes, to carry the heavy equipment 😄✌🏻
Hi with this camera you can capture in 102, 50 and 11mp average modes or only 102?
I want both of those lenses! If only they weren't so expensive :P
I know! It is very pricey gear but i guess if it is your job it is a worthwhile expense 🤷🏻♀️
I love how Eric isn't really interested in the camera gear, but just wants to get on the road with you again. Mom.
❤
You're so lucky ! What is the equivalence in 24x36 of the lenses ? Please 🙂
Good trip to Slovenia, i already saw your photos from there on Instagram ;-)
395mm and f4.42. This makes it very comparable to the Nikon 400mm f4.5.
When focal length equivalence is calculated people are usually referring to diagonal FOV so the equivalent vertical and horizontal focal lengths would be different as while the GFX 44x33mm sensor creates a taller but narrower 4:3 frame compared to the 3:2 frame of 24x36mm.
@@sipper2136 Thanks ;-)
I don’t get to keep it but i am very grateful to Fuji for trusting me to use it. And I believe that question has been answered below 🙂 Thank you and yes there will be more shots on the way when I get the time to edit some 🙂
quality
Thanks!
can your computer handle 100 megapixels of info? I moved up to the XH2 from an XT3. The large file sizes are noticeably slower on my laptop. JPEGS only. I haven't used raw files yet.
You could have mentioned that no Pelican Cases were harmed in the making of this episode.
Haha I totally missed that one off! They are solid cases 😎
@@wildandfreevictoria I keep my DJI Gimbal in one. As for my cameras and lenses. They live in a cardboard box. But then I'm in a static location while you are on the move.
did you ask fuji to borrow the camera?
Yup, I said in the video, all 3 items are borrowed from Fuji 🙂
cool.
Very cool.
@@wildandfreevictoria have you thought of submitting for the GFX competition that Fuji run?
I have seen this but I completely forgot so thank you for reminding me! I think I will do 🙂
