My girls have worn this Chain Link Braid off and on for several years now, however our updated version, with a new twist technique, in a combo, has become a personal favorite of Brooklyn & Bailey recently. {Our older, less tight version is called the Triple Twist Ponytail • Triple-Twist Ponytail ... from back in July 2010.}
Because they are active in dance, tumbling, and cheer, they are always looking for tighter hairstyles that will keep their hair out of their faces.
We are calling this the Chain Link Braid, because of the way you twist the hair... which makes it seriously look like links in a thick chain!
The girls' friends have been wondering how to create this braid, so we thought we'd give you a tutorial using triple flip-unders as an accent {tutorial here... • Corner Flip-Under Acce... }.

This hairstyle is perfect for any active sports, such as cheer, dance, gymnastics, volleyball, softball, etc, or for simple casual wear. The style is also unbelievably easy to recreate once you learn the twisting patterns!

I LOVE this hairstyle so much! I thought it would be a really hard hairstyle, but then I saw that it actually wasn't that hard. Thank you all so much for doing hair tutorials! I have seen every single one of them, and all of them are so unique! I do the hairstyles on my friend's hair, and every single time I do something new, they alway say, "How'd you do that?"

My daughter has a lot of fly aways. What do you recommend? I've tried hairspray but then she gets that white flakes. She recently started kindergarten and I'm always trying to keep her up for school 😊
I used to get those white flakes too but not any more because I use polmade and it works very well and you don't get flakes
I have tons of fly aways. To make my hair stay in better I do it when it is really wet (like 15 minutes after a shower), if I waited too long and it dried too much, I use a little bit of hair gel that is not very strong (it doesn't make my hair hard like the strong stuff, it just holds it down better. On super hot days I get my hair super wet and add gel to it to make it hold better and last through the whole day better.
try making a (clean) toothbrush wet with water, and brushing those flyaways toward your hairline, and on, thats what i do!
MakeupByDianis I know this sounds weird but toothpaste works That's was a do and then a the end off the day I will just take a shower

I love ALL these creative and cute ideas! I'm going to try to make sure I comment on my results when I do a hairstyle and today I tried this on my daughter. Her hair is extremely fine and I have trouble with it staying up and just staying in a braid period. So, I tried this one today and it's SUPER cute, but with her hair, it was already coming out by the time I left her at the school (30 minutes after I had her hair done). I think it's my err though and I just didn't get the twists tight enough and I'd definitely go with wetting the hair down first because it was so much easier to just keep separated while you work with fine hair. I will try this one again and try to make sure I get the twists tighter because it was so easy and took me maybe 5 minutes (from starting to get the ponytail) to finish.
Hopefully my hair will cooperate with me so I can wear this to my softball game today!

hi cutegirlshairstyles! i rly like ur vids but i cant do most of them since my hairs just about past my shoulder length. since rylan (im not sure if i spelled her name right) had her hair cut short i think that you should you this as an opportunities to make up hairstyles that involve short hair. this is just my opinion but i hope you try it out :)
In one of her previous video Mindy said Rylan doesn't like having her hair done that much and I know what that feels like I don't like people doing my hair either only myself :)

When I do high ponytails like that the hair that comes from underneath tends to slip out as the day goes on/ minutes passes.
