Had one of these babies and man it was GREAT! Comfort was top notch, had the biggest motor possible in it... when you wanted to pass someone... that baby picked up it's skirts and blew by them before they knew what just happened. Had opera lights. A sound system that would put todays to shame. Totally awesome car!

Hard to believe this car had a 301 CID V8 with 135 HP, with that you could not blow away a fly, give me a break. It was a beautiful car, classy, confy, but power, no! This was when Detroit started scaling down everything and self destruct. I had one of the biggest Bonnies before downsizing, it was a 1970, with a 455, HO , 385 ponies, posi traction duals with resonators, that really blew away everybody!

My father raise me and my younger brother up in this exact year bonneville and ive been a pontiac man ever since. I now own 2 78 bonnevilles, hardtop coupe with original 403 84k miles, and a 4 door hardtop with pontiac 400.

Very beautiful car. The rearview mirrors you see here, I learned only yesterday were standard equipment on the Bonneville Safari wagon. Maybe that's how it was on all the Bonnevilles that year, but I know power windows were standard on the Bonneville Brougham series. I dunno what the standard mirror on the Catalina was, maybe driver side manual only. Hope to find out more about this car when time allows.

never seen a bonneville top of the line with 231 v-6 3.8 litre before that would be slow as hell in a big car nice shape though

Horrible engine choice. I saw a 1976 Buick LeSabre Limited...3.8..a 231 V6 in a 4k car. You could outrun it on foot for the 1/4 mile. The folks kept it for 10 years. They had a 73...which I bought about 1990...85k, $850.00.

The 231 V-6 was standard on the 1980-81 Bonneville, both sedan and coupe. The optional engines were a 265 V-8, 301 V-8 and the Olds 350 Diesel.

I had one of these in a coupe. I would have kept it, as it was clean, but it was a diesel. Thing cost $ to keep running. Was so nice tho.

Hold it - I'm a bit confused. Do you mean a 1980, or a 1981? Or, as you said, a 1980 _one?_ It's kinda like the old "Who's On First?" joke. _(5/14/2022)_

Beautiful car. Shitty engine. It would be worth a ton more with 307 Olds V8.
