UPDATE: Digisoft definitely looks similar to DTF, but can be produced faster and at higher scale (think thousands of orders per day). Check this link for a DTF & DTG comparison: printdigisoft.com/
Bro, you're a lifesaver. All these other channel with nothing but click-bait that I already know. You bring REAL valuable intel. Thanks a million, again!💯💯
Hi Kerry. I recently ordered a sample tshirt from a company called ReliablePOD. I'd never heard of them before so I sent away for a sample print on a Gildan 6400 (They didn't offer BC3001). They use a technology called DTF. This is what their website says this is: "Direct To Film (DTF) printing is a new apparel printing technology that is revolutionizing the garment decoration industry." The sample arrived and the colors are amazing and the print feels like thin vinyl--very similar sounding to what you're describing with Digisoft. Just thought you might want to check them out, too. Could be they are both using the same technology--just calling them each something different. Enjoy your videos, by the way. :)
Digisoft is just dtf which is old but what your feeling is a silkscreen cover base. And after you press it its gives the vinyl feel. Other shop like supacolor have been doing this there just now getting into it I guess they made enough money to buy the machines to do it.
@@elevated-apparel its like that a lot of times. Folks will use the same technology but call it something different to make it appear they have something exclusive
All of the negatives you spoke about DTG can be traced back to Kornit's rise in popularity. There are other printers out there do a much better job - they look and feel better and last longer. I say this as someone who has owned Brother 541s, a bunch of Brother 381s, and now Brother GTX Pros AND I've outsourced to printers who use Kornits when order volume was too high to keep up with in-house. The amount of customer service issues we receive about smell, bad quality prints - fading/cracking/washing away with the Brother printers is practically zero while those we outsourced to companies using Kornits (companies that I won't name but you've definitely heard of them) is so high there's no comparison. Even printers like the M&R Polaris, with an $800K+ price tag, still have an inferior look and feel to Brother GTX or even the Epson 3070. I was super excited about the M&R until I saw them in action (again at a printer that I won't name). For now I'll stick with an army of GTX pros. I just get annoyed when people lump DTG together. I did enjoy the video though. Digisoft/DTF look interesting enough, especially for active wear.
Thanks for response.. I am not talking about digisoft.. In general the shirt types. In FTG itself… I can’t able to find Bella canvas type in CustomCat, Is there any alternative for that on CustomCat ?
Thank you Kerry for the update. I pretty sure it's DTF my opinion. They are just calling it different name. When I got into shirt school in 2020 I believe. We were printing DTG...then late 2020 started doing DTF. We have been printing DTF for over two years now before these print on demand store have..but I'm sure most are going to jump on the bag wagon. 😉. You have Described it well. They feel great on moisture wick fabric. I have at less 50 washes on T shirts. Hoodies at least going on 25. We have done numerous DTF on wood, metal, bags, leather.. etc. RO👍
th-cam.com/video/Lm0UB_WFaik/w-d-xo.html this is all it is dtf with a silkscreen underbase. It's old like you said but I guess they got the money to buy the right equipment now or there making them with the dtf powder and sheets and there dtg machine. Tko and supacolor been doing this copycats just got on.
Naw others have been doing it supacolor was the first. This is dtf with a silkscreen base. Watch tko do it and show the equipment. Supacolor won't show u this. th-cam.com/video/Lm0UB_WFaik/w-d-xo.html
hello. i am a bit curious as I see Digisoft is quite similar to DTF. but i do not know the differences between them? why should i choose Digisoft instead of?
Hi. The print detail, sharp lines, vibrant colors are real good. But no matter how durable a POD boasts about their prints, I personally would briefly and gently hand wash T-shirt designs with a little bit of detergent. If real sweaty and dirty, let it soak for 30 min. Why use a hammer on a pushpin is what I say. And let them line dry. Foldup drying rack. The dryer is a fabric wear down. Energy vampire too. Washer machine too, a little bit.✌
This is definitely DTF. Especially when you said active wear and jerseys. DTF literally can go on anything and has better durability than DTG all day. DTF gives you vibrant prints and a soft touch.
@@KerryEgeler From what I know and researched, I have never heard of printing process. I think what they mean by it is that they use a DTG printer to make DTF Transfers which then provide that quality.

Of course DTF is going to produce more vibrant colors than DTG. DTF prints on a film first and then it gets transferred to the garment so the film sits on top of the garment vs DTG which prints inks directly to the garment so the ink actually soaks in and becomes part of the fibers, so the inks will blend in with the colors of the garment giving a more opaque look. Both have their advantages and disadvantages in my opinion.
No with dtg it prints on top of the adhesive that you spray on the shirt first then heatpress to take out the moisture for 90 seconds then you print to the shirt. This is dtf with silkscreen base. The wash test on these have not been that good either.
The comparison shot wasn't great. DTG looked better (to me). The phrase wasn't very colorful. A better comparison would have a more colorful image (like a flower bouquet) to compare. As it was, all I could compare were subtle shades of red which could have been the T-shirt or camera or my phone screen vs the tech.
There must be a reason that DTF has not been widely available with print on demand over the last 10+ years. I think there is something to the process that CustomCat/Digisoft has figured out and it’s slightly different than traditional DTF

I think the difference comes in the durability, digisoft is supposed to break in nicely and feel less vinyl like as you wash it

It’s so interesting. They sent me the same set of hoodie and active wear shirt. Too big but absolutely beautiful.
In Customcat I can’t able to see Bella Canvas.. Only next level 3600 is Available.. which 100% cotton.. is there anything I am missing ?
As mentioned in the video, this is currently only available on activewear and sweatshirts / hoodies

14:33 DTG looks better on the red, but the underbade is off and the PT application could have likely been a little better.

Digisoft may look less plasticky. And they claim that digisoft prints are more durable...
As of 2023, have you washed and dried them at least 10 times? How do they hold up?

My question would be more how they hold up in a dryer? I let all my t-shirts air dry & wash in cold water to make them last
I think you’re in the minority in doing that. I throw mine in the dryer and want to see how digi holds up
holds up in dryer fine but I only do low heat "delicate" settings. I can tell this would last way longer than dtg prints
Kerry, in your opinion, the colors are sharper than Awkward Styles?
It’s different. I wouldn’t say better or worse
Thanks for the reply. But it looks amazing.

Better than then akward style??
Just a different print method. Didn’t say they were better or worse than anyone
apples and oranges. some might even prefer dtg over digisoft. akwardstyles are absolute best dtg prints ive seen tho.

I agree, did the best I could with the footage and I thought both looked good
Very nice
Is it a direct to film? That's what it reminds me of.
supposed to be the best of both worlds
its hybrid. more comfortable and less "paper feeling" like its not as rough as the dtf shirts
What's wrong with using the term DTF? This is DTF 1000% Like really? Digisoft?
